I love the way he described how Jesus saved us- when he pulled the man out of the water It took all of His strenght to save him- It took ONE WHOLE GOD to save us- That´s how sinful we are! That´s how precious we are! God couldn´t send anyone else and Jesus knew it so He went himself! WHAT A GOD! There´s nobody like Him! Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world! Be sure to fear the Lord and serve Him faithfully with all your heart- consider what great things He has done FOR YOU!
@@cherylhartwell2057 Hi, Cheryl. It's not an easy task, is it? But God counts on it- that we will be keeping parts of it our whole lives. But it's not a reason not to try, God is still worthy of our whole heart. But without His grace and without the work of His Spirit, we wouldn't be able to give Him anything. It's a lifelong process, sanctification, and it is written that God will surely finish the work HE began in us. Giving our whole life and heart to God is greatly important because all things are from Him and to Him...He deserves to receive the highest glory possible...but we need to remember that God's glory is not relying on us, He will glorify Himself when He comes again. So all of our trying to give Him everything is not meant to be pointless striving but a lifelong love letter to God. And again- it's hard but it's not striving! Because God loved us first! AND if anyone didn't like him.. he really could hardly care less. "your opinion, is your opinion". 3) he would be a hard worker, and work his way to the top.. he could have been the king of the jews 4) he would often throw parties and invite only people that show love and respect to him. “Stop living a Half-Life with God!” Is this a statement of choosing? Do we have a choice, and is it boasting to acknowledge that I want to choose to delight in God and make much of Him? Is it really possible to live a Full-Life with God? Referring to (Dut 6:5) If not, what would be a better way to make this statement?
1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
hennie vorster The fact that you are worried about that is a good sign, all I can say is you need to get in the word of God everyday, seek him in that because that is where faith is found, I’ll be praying for you as well!
Ezekiel 18:26 When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 1 Corinthians 12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
Did you flail to the float by your own power or sink to the bottom because it was to much that you couldn’t accomplish to get to the float but God gave us a way we get brought back to life by the savior
There are so many layers to pull back on this message. With each layer comes questions for understanding. Is the receiving and accepting one’s salvation considered boasting? Or is one to perceive that “receiving/accepting” is NOT a conscious acknowledgement for needing salvation, thus, one responding in faith by believing and trusting God through Christ for salvation is somehow controlled. Is that the case? That our delighting and treasuring God is made possible only if God gives us permission by allowing us perceive His Supremacy? Or has God created us in such a way that we have the ability to see God as reality, and that our existence is to reflect that reality through our identity in Him and a life of justice? Romans 2 is powerful just as Gen 3 is. Was sins nature not consciously accepted by way of one’s perception to believe and trust that God is no longer needed for life purpose and knowing reality of right and wrong? What really is the fullness of reality? Only God really knows!
It is the LORD GODFATHER in Christ WHO Shall Give You Perfect Good Life Everlastingly because You can do nothing for yourself.Just Be Prayerful and Be Thankful for the Life HE Hath Given You Today and Everyday Continually Everlastingly.
John 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. John 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
Like all calvinists, Piper treats faith as a meritorious work. He calls it "performing the most beautiful act of morality one could perform" and thus reasons his way to "a lost sinner could never do such a grand thing." In reality, the Bible explicitly states that faith is not a work which merits anything. It is simply accepting the merit and work of Christ when the gospel is preached.
In all charity, This is what you're not getting... The Bible says exactly that ...that it's not a work, but if It originates in you -from you (That's the whole point!)... it is an action of your doing that is different from someone else, therefore salvation is of you -NOT in God ... which means that you actuate salvation. In this paradigm, Faith is the work that you contribute to the actuation of your salvation and YOU are the deciding factor. Your objection is a common misgiven distortion or misunderstanding. I'm going to this trouble, so that you will get it right and not be repeating erroneous objections. ...and realize who saved you -and how you got saved (if you are). This is humbling to the dust. But instead, people want to shake their fist in objection to it. ...which demonstrates total depravity. God Bless. (even this statement depends on this whole thing)
Hi there! Religious or not, you are amazing and are loved by Jesus. He loved you so much that he literally died for you to save you from falling short of the kingdom of heaven. Either you can accept his grace and repent of your sin, or turn from God and spend an eternity in hell. This is your choice because God gave you free will. YOU ARE AMAZING AND HAVE AN AMAZING DAY!! 😎❤️✝️
You all think God and Jesus love you. That's too bad because they don't. Guess who said "I will wipe these people off the face of the earth." Jesus went to Calvary in obedience to his Father, you had nothing to do with it.
If you need answers to Ultimate Reality, just ask John Piper because he has the corner on the truth. But he's humble about it. That's what matters. But seriously you need a pastor to explain life to you because you're too sinful to figure it out on your own.
I feel it isn't correct too tell people how to live their life , and the way they should be with God . To me it's a more personal affair for people and religion ,if someone wants to live like your title suggests it's their call , and they will find it if that's what they want.
Finally John Piper spoke the Truth! Stop listening to pastors..unless they tell you to Seek Jesus. Jesus is your Savior. Not pastors..churches..religions..or the bible.
When you are Walking with Jesus Personally Everyday..There is no more need for religion, churches, bible reading and pastors. Jesus did not teach any of these. Jesus taught individual responsibility and interaction with others. God does not require a person to be a religionist.
kathleen Wharton Hi Kathleen, Because it's so easy for context, semantics, etc. to get misconstrued, it's incumbent to emphasize that those aspects of Christian Living are ordained and even required by God's Word : * "forsake not the assembling of yourselves..." * "some pastors and teachers..." , etc.... However, it is unmistakable that the Body is primarily responsible for Christ's witness to the world and indeed evangelization... and congregating is primarily for believer's edification, instruction, rejuvenation, etc.... tragically this is out of balance because of people living this "half-life".
I don't think it's possible to have a close relationship with Jesus if you're not studying the Bible all the time. That and prayer are the most important things we need to become disciplined in
May I add to this that we simply CANNOT walk with Jesus without Him helping which is only through receiving His gift of the Holy Ghost. When people say they are walking with Jesus, and that they are relatively "good" people who love others, what is that based on? How can we love like Jesus and walk the way He says to walk in His Word, without Him helping us in this ungodly, evil world? The Holy Ghost was sent as a comforter after Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. Please read and STUDY these scriptures: St. John 14-16 ; Matt. 3:11; the entire book of Acts; Romans 5:5 ; 1 Corinthians 12:3 ; Romans 14:17; Hebrews 9; 2 Peter 1:19-21 ; 1 John 5:7 ; Jude 20-21...I apologize for the amount of scriptures give but if we REALLY want to know and learn Jesus, and not go by our own doctrine and understanding, we will study and know more about Him...(Proverbs 3:5-6 ; 2 Timothy 2:15-16)
May I also add that Jesus said you must be born of the water and the Spirit to even perceive the kingdom of God..St. John 3:3-8..How then are we able to just skip over the Words of a Holy and Wise God and make up our own way of walking with God? He set up His way of salvation and it's either His way or no way...let God be true and EVERY man be liars ( Romans 3:4)
+Scott Carter..Christians don't even teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ..they teach the gospel of Paul. There is no point of teaching anything..if they are not going to teach Jesus Gospel. Jesus said "Seek ye First the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness." Jesus did not say..seek self appointed men, churches and religion. It was self-appointed Paul who set up churches. Jesus definition of "church" was individual "inspiration" to each person. That is how Peter "knew" that Jesus was the Christ.
kathleen Wharton With no intention of being contrary to your sentiment, I have to say that there are some disturbing nuances to the statements that you're making that are unbiblical, therefore concerning, and I only make this distinction for those looking on. Somehow, you're taking personal issue with someone who Christ himself anointed and empowered to take the gospel and set up the necessary structure for its flourishing to be taken throughout the world in the Great Commission. True that over the centuries, man has imposed his overextension of power within these structures, but they are the necessity of collective organization with the addition of people that the Holy Spirit brings to himself. But the plurality of ecclesiological offices is the very means that Christ set up for accountability... "Where two or more gathered together I will be in the midst." Though this is constantly misquoted as mandating groups of people for prayers to be heard, it is simply stating the accountability of multiple Witnesses because it is specifically about addressing issues between Christians (congregants) in that a gathering of witnesses is needed for truth to be accountable rather than hearsay. Christ specifically ordained some of the very things that you are opposing which, as I stated, is concerning especially for you. You seem to be villainizing what was from the hand of Christ which is precisely contradictory to the premise of your assertion of Jesus teaching you the Bible. This contradiction is certainly vexing. Once again, and I mainly say this out of concern for you, but also for those who look on to this and don't quite discern the internal conflict going on with your address. This is precisely how cults get started from Joseph Smith, David Koresh, etc.... And though I am certainly not implying that extent or intent to you, there are similarities in your understandings. Now going back to the biblical text again, Paul, in addition to Christ's ordaining, went through rigorous authentication and vetting of the other disciples, so he was not self-appointed as you assert. All Things Considered, you might have been injured by some of the things that you are resisting which is unfortunate, but without this structure, thereby implementing your approach, every single person has no accountability but for Jesus speaking to them in their spirit, which is obviously very dangerous... especially because, that's not what Christ said to do. Perhaps you believe this sincerely, but I would urge you to sincerely pray and fast seeking this verification because it's incongruent within itself. In fairness, there may be missing aspects of what you're saying that were just omitted in the economy of words in pointing out your specific concerns. So with the intention of offering Grace, you may not be intending to present yourself in this way, but nonetheless, I've demonstrated concerns in the congruence of your positions which will hopefully lead to clarification if these concerns are unfounded. With sincerity

Please, pray for me! May I repent and find God. I don't really desire God, but I know He is the only way to Heaven. I'm afraid of Hell and feeling empty, but if wasn't that, I don't know if I would "search" God.
Repent and ask him to change u
“Stop living a Half-Life with God!”
Is this a statement of choosing?
Do we have a choice, and is it boasting to acknowledge that I want to choose to delight in God and make much of Him?
Is it really possible to live a Full-Life with God? Referring to (Dut 6:5)
If not, what would be a better way to make this statement?
Wow!
Great!
1 Thessalonians 4:17
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 5:9
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
Amen
Oh my goodness I was "saved" by the inner tube...............what must I do, what must I do to be SAVED from death in the lake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hennie vorster The fact that you are worried about that is a good sign, all I can say is you need to get in the word of God everyday, seek him in that because that is where faith is found, I’ll be praying for you as well!
Amem
Ezekiel 18:26
When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
Matthew 24:24
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
1 Corinthians 12:10
To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
Hallelujah! Where is boasting lol!
It is the LORD GODFATHER in Christ WHO Shall Give You Perfect Good Life Everlastingly because You can do nothing for yourself.Just Be Prayerful and Be Thankful for the Life HE Hath Given You Today and Everyday Continually Everlastingly.
Which 1985 sermon is it
Pipers voice sounds kinda different .. Am i the only one who thinks this ? 🤔
Its from 1985
John 5:14
Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
John 16:8
And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
Like all calvinists, Piper treats faith as a meritorious work. He calls it "performing the most beautiful act of morality one could perform" and thus reasons his way to "a lost sinner could never do such a grand thing." In reality, the Bible explicitly states that faith is not a work which merits anything. It is simply accepting the merit and work of Christ when the gospel is preached.
In all charity,
This is what you're not getting...
The Bible says exactly that ...that it's not a work,
but if It originates in you -from you (That's the whole point!)... it is an action of your doing that is different from someone else, therefore salvation is of you -NOT in God ... which means that you actuate salvation.
@@4walls559You are deceived and make no sense at all.
If you need answers to Ultimate Reality, just ask John Piper because he has the corner on the truth. But he's humble about it. That's what matters. But seriously you need a pastor to explain life to you because you're too sinful to figure it out on your own.

Are you being serious??
@@hemadepeacethroughtheblood5800 why would you ask? Could you not detect the sarcasm?

Actually I wasn't sure, because there are some people who really think that about John Piper.
Good comment 👍😁
God bless. 🙏💙
Stop living 3 half lives with God
Sokobansolver i see what you did
I find this brother lacks the boldness, the confidence, the authority which should be present when speaking, when you're speaking the divine truth.

When you are Walking with Jesus Personally Everyday..There is no more need for religion, churches, bible reading and pastors. Jesus did not teach any of these. Jesus taught individual responsibility and interaction with others. God does not require a person to be a religionist.

Hi Kathleen,
Because it's so easy for context, semantics, etc. to get misconstrued, it's incumbent to emphasize that those aspects of Christian Living are ordained and even required by God's Word :
* "forsake not the assembling of yourselves..."
* "some pastors and teachers..." , etc....
If you buy into God, you are half dead already.

With no intention of being contrary to your sentiment, I have to say that there are some disturbing nuances to the statements that you're making that are unbiblical, therefore concerning, and I only make this distinction for those looking on.
U need Jesus
