Federal Express Flight 705 as it was called as that year it was named as FedEx Corporation. The plane was mainly hauling electronics. Just so you know. But yeah definitely would question what happened to the cargo. Also might i add. The plane landed overweight mainly due to the fuel as it couldnt dump as the captain was the only one in the flight deck while the F.O and F.E were fending off Auburn Calloway.

They landed with one pilot conscious, half paralyzed and severely overweight and over stressed the airframe. They almost hit mach 1 in a DC-10 and loss most control surfaces and where able to get out of the climb by some miracle. I saw a documentary about this event. Both pilots were ex-military and so they were trained in close combat. I believe the pilot that was driving had experience in the air force and did maneuvers that would go beyond the limits of the plane or at least extremely close to what it could handle since it is a mail plane and not a plane made for dogfighting or strenuous maneuvers like banking or nose diving at a high speed.

    • @neilkurzman4907
      @neilkurzman4907 Год назад

Well, obviously, he didn’t go past the limits of the airplane. Because if he did it would not have flow again.
There have been several near crashes, where when the plane landed it was scrap metal. Bent wings, and control surfaces, and rippling of the fuselage.

Now that's what I call a real family man, willing to take one for the team! I believe the F/O never flew again. I believe the Capt did most of the flying, all with ball hammer dents and harpoons sticking out of his head. I think at one time, FEDEX pretty much hired ex-Navy pilots.

So no he did not love his family. He was surely suicidal anyways.

This is actually a tactic that commercial pilots would use in a potential high jacking. You’d nose over violently and the Highjackers….Well and anyone not strapped in are getting their domes smashed into the ceiling. You aren’t walking down an aisle when the aircraft is pulling several G’s. It’s actually amazing what some of the huge aircraft are capable of maneuvering wise. They normally only operate at like 5% of their jinking and weaving potential.

Title: The Unlikely Redemption of a Hijacker
Once upon a time, in a bustling city, there lived a man named Jack. Jack had always felt invisible, overlooked by society. He yearned for recognition, for his voice to be heard. One day, consumed by desperation and a misguided sense of purpose, Jack made a fateful decision that would change his life forever.
On a sunny morning, Jack found himself at the airport, his heart pounding with nervous anticipation. He had concocted a plan to hijack a plane, believing that this extreme act would finally make people take notice of him. As he boarded the aircraft, fear mingled with a strange sense of adrenaline-fueled determination.
As the plane took off, Jack's mind raced with conflicting emotions. He questioned the morality of his actions, but it was too late to turn back now. The passengers onboard were terrified, their lives hanging in the balance. Jack's desperate cry for attention had turned into a nightmare.
However, amidst the chaos, there was one passenger who seemed remarkably calm. Her name was Sarah, a woman with a gentle demeanor and a compassionate heart. Sarah had always believed in the power of empathy and understanding. As she observed Jack, she sensed something deeper underlying his actions.
Sarah approached Jack cautiously, her voice filled with compassion. She listened as he poured out his frustrations, his feelings of insignificance, and his desire to be seen and heard. She acknowledged his pain, validating his emotions. In that moment, Jack felt a glimmer of hope, a connection he had longed for his entire life.
Sarah's empathy unlocked something within Jack. He realized the gravity of his actions and the profound impact they were having on innocent lives. With Sarah's support, he made the difficult choice to surrender himself to the authorities, determined to face the consequences of his actions.
News of the hijacking spread like wildfire, capturing the attention of the nation. However, what followed was unexpected. Instead of being vilified, Jack's story evoked a mix of sympathy, curiosity, and a collective reflection on the underlying issues of societal neglect and the desperate cries for help that often go unheard.
During his trial, Jack was given a chance to speak. He used this platform not to justify his actions but to advocate for the importance of recognizing and addressing the struggles of those who feel invisible in society. His story sparked a nationwide conversation about empathy, mental health, and the need for social support systems.
In the years that followed, Jack dedicated his life to raising awareness, working with organizations that focused on mental health and providing support for those who felt marginalized. His story became a beacon of hope for individuals who felt unseen and unheard, inspiring them to seek help, share their stories, and find solace in the embrace of a compassionate community.
Jack's transformation from a hijacker to an advocate showcased the power of understanding, empathy, and second chances. His story served as a reminder that even in the darkest of moments, redemption and personal growth are possible. And so, Jack's journey became a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the potential for positive change, no matter how dire the circumstances may seem.

In the ACI episode of this, I remember the line that the Co-Pilot (who was a veteran fighter pilot) put the DC10 through "moves it had never been intended for that pushed the limits of the DC-10's design" Roller-coastering, barrel rolls and inverted flying from a steep dive
The tail stabiliser's foils were found to be rippled on the skin of them, if they had come off anymore the stabilisers would have gone up and down without control.
This was some BAD ASS piloting skills by the Co-Pilot. The Captain and the Flight Engineer were so beat up and bloodied from their battle in the area just behind the cockpit.
All 4 people were seriously injured - the Captain and Co Pilot with severe head injuries from the hammer.
