    I've also been using running vest style packs for more mountaineering type climbs and find it easier to use. Things are more accessible especially when your hands are freezing and/or don't want to expose your warm back to the frigid air. I've been using the Ultraspire Epic XT 2.0 pack (older model), it's probably discontinued but Ultraspire has more updated models that looks pretty nice. Wanted to mention it just in case you were interested in looking around for similar type packs.

      Yeah ya know, I used to used an Ultraspire pack awhile back. I never “loved” it. I loved everything about the pack, except for how it fit. I’ve been contemplating trying a newer model, but concerned I’d run into issues again. Everyone’s body is slightly different, but I know a lot of people consider them the cream of the crop. I’ll probably give them another go in 2023!

      @@teatimeinthealpine5752 that makes sense, torsos are different on everybody. I found the fastpack to fit me weird lol

      @@mistuhfan I’ve heard a lot of people having issues with the fastpack. Well, the new fastpack. Apparently the older models were amazing, and these new ones aren’t so great. I love the new ones! So definitely, everybody is different! Hey, thanks for watching! Really excited for the avi danger to go down so we can get back out there.

      How is your ultraspire performing? What are the pros and cons?

    Thanks for your detailed review. I watched it before I ordered one last week and again after I received it today.
    Your video helped me in pulling the plug on making the order in addition to the many written reviews I read online.
    Your review would be complete and much better if you had pointed out that (1) there's a hole in the top of the pack between the two sides of the hand hold loop for a water bladder tube to run through; and (2) the two zippered pockets on the shoulder straps are too small for any newer cellphones.
    I'll probably store my Garmin Inreach mini in one of them and maybe some snacks in the other. I'll figure a way to store my cellphone. I think I'll love the pack.

      Thanks for the comment. Yeah, you’re right in the smartphone not fitting in the pocket. I just threw the phone in one of the other front pockets. The hole for the bladder hose doesn’t pertain to me which is why I missed it. Bladders freeze. Regardless, it would have been helpful to a lot of viewers. Enjoy the pack!

    Thanks for the great, informative video! I'm looking for a versatile trekking pack and the fastpack is definately on the top of my shortlist.

    How does this pack compare to the ultimate direction all mountain pack?

    • @teatimeinthealpine5752
      @teatimeinthealpine5752  Год назад

      The All Mountain is much more robust. It's definitely more "mountaineering" proof. Much easier to carry a rope with as well. I have tried to carry rope with the fastpack and it's terrible lol. It's also not what it's made for!

    Did you consider the Salomon XA 25 or XA 35?

      Yup! I have those packs actually. I like them. I don't believe they carry heavier weight or tools well. But as a general purpose fast moving pack, I love them!
