It was 🔥!!! Maybe you can join when we do it from the other route. The summit block will be entirely melted out shortly and will be a moderate rock climb.
Nice climb! Can you elaborate on Phantom Tech vs Ribelle Tech fit, in term of size, width etc? I have almost the same Scarpa boots fleet (old Phantom 6000, prev. Mont Blanc Pro, Ribelle Tech 1.0) and considering new Phantom Techs, will appreciate any input very much! Keep rocking!
Thank you! In terms of the Ribelle Tech 2.0 and the Phantom Tech, I would say fitment is roughly identical. They are wide enough, though; not super wide. I am used to Altra trail runners so nothing feels super wide. I am rocking a size 49 and it fits me perfectly. I wear a size 14 Altra for reference. The Phantom Tech feels extremely dexterous compared to a double boot. I also own the La Sportiva G5 evo, (the direct competitor to the Phantom Tech) and the Phantom Tech feels more dexterous and lighter. Keep in mind that if you are considering the G5 Evo, they are sized differently. I wear a size 48 G5 Evo and a 49 Phantom Tech, though they are roughly the same size on the foot. Also, the G5 Evo does seem wider at the toe. What some may view as a con, the Phantom tech does not have a pull cord enclosure at the top of the gator. There may be some warmth escape here as well as snow entering the boot. (Though, this has not been an issue for me.) The G5 does have a pull cord at the top, but I do not like the finicky BOA system. Until Scarpa redesigned the Phantom Tech I never really considered it. The sole was trash. The new boot is incredible and has more or less retired my Mont Blancs. The Phantom Tech weighs less and is warmer. I am thrilled to own them and it is definitely my number 1 boot.
You guys are badasses! Sweaty palms at the crux 😯
