I love the fragment that has "sisters...together" on it. I lost my sister a year ago this month, and that fragment touched my heart. Well done, Nicola!
TAKE IT! It's embossed plus you missed at least 2 marbles! I know, you can't see everything all the time. Got me all excited tho! My life for a Mudlarking of the Thames!😂
I just wanted to say that I've really been enjoying your videos lately. It's amazing what you can find in the world if you just take a moment to look around.
I thought I was the only nut to walk along rivers and pick up "junk".. love your video , so interesting, I can't believe the age of some of your treasures, mine are not nearly that old. I'm in the U.S. and grew up along boundry waters.. always looking for a "dump" pile and river glass... so much fun. Thanks for sharing your talent and wonderful expertise.
Sorry if someone else let you know that the plural of deer is.....wait for it, deer. Many moons ago my father corrected me on this as we drove past a deer farm in the upper Hunter Valley in NSW. Australia. They have very high fences to keep the deer inside. Thank you for your videos, I’m loving them and I’m very envious. I wish I was there too. I’ve been trying to find out if a visitor to London is able to apply for a permit. I have not seen anything referring to non residents, and I have seen the different kinds of permits etc. if you happen to have any idea about this, I’d be very grateful. I’m going to keep on searching online so please don’t go out of your way. Anyway , once again, thanks so so much for your wonderful videos and the information you seek out. I just love finding out the stories behind the finds. Take care and stay happy. All my best xox secret squirrel aka eve xox
Great video and amazing finds. You speak so eloquently. Thanks for letting us try to pick out the item before you show it up close - it's a fun challenge. You sure gave goid eyes.
Ive watched quite a few Mudlarking you tube videos but my favorite is Nicoles. Tonight ive been watching all of them one after the other. I find her so soothing and lovely. I wish I could be there!!
That was a great adventure of mudlarking. Thank you so much for sharing, it was fabulous. I love your sense of humor as well. I feel like I'm on the adventure with you and learn so much from your videos.
I love your videos. You have a very similar sensibility as I do and the things you find interesting and weird and beautiful are exactly the same things as me. I love your dry wry wit and you just have such a calming and charming way about you. Thank you for sharing your Thames adventures and for taking the same joy in “a good pipe extraction” as I would. Cheers, Michele
hi ..i am from Canada!....i have been to your beautiful country and would love to return one day. i would like to express my fondness of your channel. All the treasures and your wonderful personality really brings light into my life. Thank you and please continue reaching for the stars!..best regards,Kerri-Ann
Whoah. Just had the most disoriented experience. I worked today, and absolutely exhausted,I started watching Si-Find’s latest video(9/11/22), but fell asleep sitting up. Woke up and this Tideline video was playing, and it was Mr Crabs. I would remember Mr. Crabs,he was totally unfamiliar. I was confused, having fogging woken up! Turns out,my phone automatically started playing this video while I was dozing, and it’s gotta be one of the few vids of yours that I haven’t seen, from 5 years ago. Now that I am awake proper,I’ll zip back to the beginning, and view it,then finish watching Si’s video too. Hope you are doing well. Difficult week for your nation among nations.❤️
Great finds girl. Sorry we never saw you descending and ascending that ladder. Plenty of fossils in that grey rock at Battersea. wormy type things. You left a copper coney thingy near that second button you retrieved. You missed a few thins. You had you pipe bowl eyes on I take it. No rude words on that penny either. You could make a bob or two selling one of those sea urchin fossils you know. That was indeed a rose farthing by the way. That olde ship looked like a good fixer up project. You had great fun I assume. Lucky sod.
In the excitement I felt on your new video notification last night, I realized you truly are becoming a favorite creator, one of the few I watch as soon as notified. Chill Bill may have better hair of course, but even so, I look forward to more of your creative mind and no one can do a pipe extraction like you Nicola. Hope to see more soon!
Absolutely fascinating video; thank you so much for making/posting it. "No crabs were harmed during the making of this film." HAHAHAHAHA! Brilliant. I really enjoyed your cormorant as well. My dear late mother spent the last 8 years of her life in a nursing home, which overlooked the harbor here in my home town. Due to a brain injury from a horrendous car crash, her memory wasn't all that great. When I visited her she would point to a passing cormorant and ask: "What is the name of those... those... black flappers?" Every time I see a cormorant now, I think of my dear mom and think "black flapper". Thank you.
Just discovered your videos today and it so much fun to watch. I love a nice walk, but have never found treasure like you do! (Well except for funny rocks and the occasion arrow head.)
Along with you're wonderful accent. I love the excitement you show with each exotic new find. I sometimes find clay pipe fragments while looking in plowed fields for arrowheads. I have kept every piece I have found for over 40 years and the equal about twice the amount of full pipes you found in one outing. and I only find fragments. very exciting to see. Keep up the good work. Jim.
This was a lovely video and reminded me that under our feet the beautiful 'rubbish' of the past is right there in plain sight if you have eyes to see... Mud is so much better at retaining than sand! Thanks
What a amazes me is how many pipes still have their lovely stems on them. Love yours videos and the wonderful things you manage to unearth, looking forward to more! k
Thank you for sharing this video with us. Unfortunately too short once again. Beautiful finds, I would love finding one pipe along the shore, that is a unique experience. Next time I am visiting London I will ask for a permission to practice mudlarking and as a novice I would need advice from person like you. All the best, looking forward to your next video. Regards from Finland
The clear glass ball is a net edge float. These were tied all around the edges of fishing nets to float them across the water so they would not sink. Hand-blown. A lovely treasure!
I'm a new subbie from new York and I also do river shore mudlarking . never found such beautiful items as you do. I love the pottery pieces that you find. thank you for sharing .
I found my first 1700 pipe . It has no stem and it's broken in half. But it does have the butt end and it has a mark on it . I can't make it out . I will look it up. I'm so happy I found one on the shore of the Hudson River of new York 👍☺. Thank you for sharing . I'm so excited .
Such beautiful pipes and pottery, I have noticed the agate and some Jasper stones around you as you pick up the objects. Some would make some great pendant jewelery. You are so lucky! Beautiful finds!
I like the art you create with your finds. I live near a river called Pend Orielle in Washington State USA. The finds aren't quite so old unless you find arrowheads but people would dump trash in the river too. I have found interesting things and am trying to create something with them instead of just leaving them in a box.
YAY, YOU KEPT IT! NICE HALL! I too dig treasure and really like the blue&white patterns and the Cobalt bottles. I have created table top art like tiled tops, out of all the little pieces with color or pattern on it. I've no pics as this was before cell phones with cameras. I've even lost some of the tops. I can't wait for your next video! CHEERS! MISS DARLA K. from Red Bluff CA. Northern California!
Another superb video showing more superb finds. The torpedo bottle was an interesting find. Its hard to imagine Schweppes lemonade factory being off Oxford Street ! Keep up the good work. I am looking forward to your next video already.
Amazing finds, I absolutely love clay pipes. I metal detect and I'm also an artist and you channel really has great historical information and I love your artistry and style. Thanks so much. Well done.
I saw someone over on Twitter with this quote "Brothers & sisters, hand in hand, our lips together move; Then smile upon this little band, and join our hearts in love" but I can't verify the accuracy.
I just discovered a video that I missed...this one. Thank you for taking us on today’s mud lark. I love your videos and I especially like the fact that I feel as if I can smell the salt air and that I am right there with you. That’s wonderful considering that as of April 15, 2018 we here in Newfoundland are still buried in snow so I love these little outings and I live vicariously through you. :) Thanks again Nicola.
Alas the poor bream...a freshwater species possibly straying too close to salty Battersea. Yum, yum thought Mr Crabs. Wonderful video Nicola...perfect with tea and crumpets.
Wow! Love those deer! What an intresting riverside... have seen nothing like this in America! This is fun thanx for taking us along for the hunt!!seems that u found the best pieces of the potterys.. both have scenes..love the bird and dragon fly too!!
I *love* your videos! Coming from a very young country (New Zealand), we would never find the things that are found in the UK (where you can dig up a car-park and discover the bones of a king! Not that that is mudlarking but anyway......). It's amazing to see people poking around their back yards in the UK and going "ho hum - another bit of Roman pottery........" I'm very envious......... :)
Great looking pipes wow, small Crystal Ball = small future? Love the bits of decorated pottery. The broken water bottle would make a great fish body? Just thinking with all the broken pipe stems better than used cigarette buts. I really enjoy your videos. 👍👍👍👍👍
I've just discovered your channel and didn't want this vid to end. I'm in the USA and some day I hope to go mudlarking. my favorite was the piece with the dragonfly. what a special find. subscribed!

I love this channel so much. It is so very relaxing. I would give anything to go mudlarking on the Thames. Thanks for the videos!
I love the fragment that has "sisters...together" on it. I lost my sister a year ago this month, and that fragment touched my heart. Well done, Nicola!
Storm Tater would you like to have it as a gift?
Are you kidding?! I would love to have it. I'm speechless.
Storm Tater drop me your address to nicola.white@tidelineart.com
Ms.Nicola you are a reall sweetheart giving that to this lady that lost her sister .God Bless you both .
That's a sign from ur sister .
TAKE IT! It's embossed plus you missed at least 2 marbles! I know, you can't see everything all the time. Got me all excited tho! My life for a Mudlarking of the Thames!😂
Darla Wolz ha ha! I did take it you'll be pleased to know
yes pleased! MORE, MORE!!
It amazes me how many pipe bowls you find!
why is there so many in that river area ?
Sherlock Holmes lived near there.
ahh good answer :}
Pipes were sold with tobacco in the bowl. When you finished the tobacco you threw out the pipe.
I just wanted to say that I've really been enjoying your videos lately. It's amazing what you can find in the world if you just take a moment to look around.
I love to wake up and with a cup of tea or coffee, sit on my patio and watch you and Si- finds. Always so excited to see what you find!!😁💟
A great adventure of mudlarking. Very unique pipe bowls today! Thank you for sharing!!

it is amazing how many of those pipes have lasted in the shape they are in. great video.
Excellent adventures in mudlarking for you this round! Love the small "crystal ball". It makes me think of a remembrall from the Harry Potter books.
Its always funny in a good way how you say hello to all you encounter in the thames..like mr crabs..

Would love to find one with a long enough stem to smoke a bowl of cherry blende in it!
@@mikehoward8201 The stem often is a friction fit piece of hard rubber. Easier to clean.

Hi Nicola Lovely finds - I particularly like the torpedo bottle and the pottery shards. Rise Sir Pete the penguin. Cheers Wendy
Nicola, someone has probably told you this before, but the caliber of the ammunition you find is stamped on the flat end of each one.
I'm always surprised that the pipe bowls and stems survive amonst those rocks. Amazing!
Can one obtain a pipe bowl from your explorations?
very interesting walk, thanks for sharing it
"slightly wobbly legs"!! Awesome :-)
Stunning video!!! You are so fortunate to live in the UK! The US has no where near the delights on a river bank anywhere! We do have a lot of Arrowheads and Paleo tools here though, but I adore those pipes!!!
