Effects can be a mix KILLER. But focusing on a few key effects and dialing them in subtly can had a lot of depth and dimension to your mix.

l've been using the Stereo Delay effect for a while now and I like how it helps thicken my voice up and make it stand out in the mix. A cheat that I do is that instead of doubling my voice by singing the part over again I will copy my vocal and then just thicken it by paning the lead vocal about 5 degrees left and right.

Good tutorial. Just wondering what you tend to send to the master reverb and echo buses if anything.
I've been struggling with finding the right balance of reverb in my recordings for years. I love working with parallel tracks as well so this was very helpful! I was wondering if you would consider the space building method used for the lead vocal to be a good starting point for a guitar solo (like in a rock or rock/blues kind of mix) or would you just do something else entirely?

Thanks for all the guidance with the videos Colin and a question. Were the drums for this track that you're using for these newer videos done with a GarageBand drummer? If so, it's crazy how you've gotten the drums segments to fit so nicely with the different parts of the song, ie., the double snare hit, etc. I'd be curious as to how this was achieved. Thanks again!
