Pixel 7a has a bigger better main sensor, which results in slightly better HDR, details and low-light performance.
Google has tuned that legendary IMX363 sensor on pixel 6a to the core. The stabilization is better, the HDR, details etc are on par with Pixel 7a.
The ultra-wide lens and selfie camera is actually better on Pixel 6a in low-light.

I actually preferred the 6a pics. Only downside is the reduced wide angle view on the front camera. However for the price difference it's worth it or better still look at the price of the pixel 6.

@@phritza I just upgraded to the 7a, and I can say it's worth it. The 90hz display and the wider ultrawide paired with the 2gb of extra ram and a new cpu makes it a good purchase.

Impressive results from both, especially 6a has done a nice job, this is where google's software tweaks works amazingly. 7a has got a better hardware edge, the rest is software magic in both pixels.

So the 6a seems to take sharper images from close range and with the ultrawide, and the 7a seems to take better pictures with good lighting paired with medium range.
You would assume that 6a is worse then a 7, but clearly it is not. In some areas the 7 did better. But (maybe personal opinion) it many cases it did not. Stabilization, 6A for sure (the chipset/CPU/sensor was a better match and could process/handle it better?). Some of the stills was better (for my really old monitor). Some of the "zooms" stills was better with the 6a but it was very software processed. Maybe they could calibrate the 7?
Just bought two 6a's because of the value for money so I will try them out... always used the budget phones before, but this is (at least for me) a mid-tier phone. And so far it is looking good... can't wait to hold it in my hand...

Thanks for the great comparison. I am still on a Huawei p30 but the lack of security updates makes me want to switch to a newer phone although the phone itself is perfectly fine after 2+ years.
The video stabilization for the main camera is so much better on the 6A. I guess Google couldn't figure out how to make it work on that new Sony 64 megapixel sensor. Deal breaker for me for the 7a.

Ive got both and the 7a is definitely nicer in low light and indoors. A much greater difference than your photos show. Possible they have improved the 7a with updates.

I have the 7a too. For photography I find it much better than my pixel 6 ( not 6a). I can also see my 7a's display under bright lighting conditions too, something my pixel 6 struggled with
Please tell me the image stabilization got better with more updates? 😭 6a got stolen not too long ago and i dnt wanna buy the same phone wanna upgrade but the video stabilization was such a turn off.

Hi great video. So in selfie camera the pixel 7 a is slightly wider even when taking pictures thats a win. Get more in the frame. But what one is better hdr or quality in the selfie camera ?????😊

@@DariuszTech Yes. I saw that review. It was great. The reason I'm asking is because the 6 pro is a 50mp main, whereas the 7a is 64mp. And the 6a is using the older 12mp Imx sensor that produces excellent results in the older phones.
I saw a few reviews where they prefer the 6a photos compared to the 6 pro. What do you think? Did you ever compare these two?

I find the stabilization of the 6a better or does it just seem that way to me....
It's night and day. That's the reason I'm buying the 6A instead of the 7a. Having that bad level of video stabilization on my main phone camera is a deal breaker.

In isolation, you wouldn't be disappointed with either! If you pushed me to make a decision, i'd have to go with the 6A.
Saving a whopping £200.00 !!!!! Also, remember that Google upgrades its camera software continually, so to that end, the cheaper phones will tend to keep pace with their more recent offerings - I know, `cos i'm still using a Pixel 2, and it's brilliant!!

That's because they don't have dedicated zoom lenses . If you need to zoom the pro option is the better option
I've been considering getting a 7a, trading in my 6a, for the better selfie camera. But looking at this video, it's making me stop and think. Interesting.
The 7A still heats up with normal usage while the 6A doesn't after Android 14 stable update. It's really weird.

The phones can overheat but nothing crazy. For a light user you should be fine with both. Save some money and buy the pixel 6a

S23 or Zenfone 10 have a way better battery than Pixel.

It's really hard to find a better quality-price ratio than this mobile phone
Camera is good but I am facing automatically redial issue.If someone doesn't recieve my call or reject my call it will be automatically calling again and again until I cut the call by myself. Very problematic condition is this. Pixel customer care could not solve this issue even.
If i want battery that is good at least as my a52s which pixel would you recommend? anyway I'm thinking about waiting few years and only then to buy a new device

I'm not talking only about midrange.. even flagship but I think that the best thing to do is waiting a couple of years no? Especially If I want an upgrade in terms of the camera quality and battery at least as good as mine.

I would pick pixel 7a as it has the best stabilization and colour accuracy. Not to mention about the HDR and 4k selfie camera which pixel 6a doesn't have

Both overheating, battery drains pretty fast on 7a, slow charging, lost connections on 6a, terrible finger print sensor, etc.
This video was with a focus on camera performance. But yes they have some other issues

Small difference
Looks like 6a has better stabilization, I saw some jitters on 7a (should be fixed via update).
The main difference was the slightly wider view on 7A's cameras especially the selfie and ultrawide. I wish I got the extra 💰 for 7A but I'll settle for the 6A for now.
