For those wondering Freesia is a flower species that is symbolic of trust and friendship (the botanist who discovered it actually named it after a friend)
It's a love song. it's basically saying that you can be the richest man in the world or the king of the universe, but without that special someone by your side, you are nothing. Very deep.
The song is mostly referring to Sol and Aria and how he has no reason to exist if she’s not there with him. But he’s fine with Jack-O, surely she’s not entirely Aria, but he’s fine with it. If Aria doesn’t want to come back, then he can respect her wishes.
@@404Yaiba I dont think so. The song is about Ky and Dizzy, he is the King of Illyria but can't do it with her as Queen. The song is about that, how he is empty being a King (the is a scene about it if im not wrong), so besides everyone loving him he can't be happy without Dizzy as queen. (Sorry if my english is not the best, im praticing)
The singer's name is Naoki Hashimoto, who I'm pretty sure is the only (male) vocalist for 99% of the whole series' soundtrack (Someone else sang the backing vocals in Love The Subhuman Self, at least). I think there are around 10 rock ballads like this in the whole series. Most, if not all of them are some sort of credits theme.
Yeah, guy who did backing vocals was Jamison Boaz, funny enough he also did main vocals for few BlazBlue songs, so it's not his first rodeo with arcsys
There are obviously others such as Aisha who did a few female tracks in Strive, and Jun’ya Motomura who did Raven’s theme in Overture as well as a few Blazblue themes
finally, the day has come for the ballads to rear their head onto this channel. daisuke is a huge queen fan and you can really feel it ooze out of songs like these. all i can do and freesia are my favorite gg ballads, and they're also the songs that really made me appreciate how crazy naoki's vocal range truly is. the guy can do seemingly anything he wants with his voice
Guilty gear is perfect in very artistic aspect. The music, The characters and world designs, The lore (That actually sucks in almost all fighting games...). I dont like fignting games very much. But guilty gear is in my top 5 favorite games because it is so touching in everything.
This is my favorite song in all of guilty gear The usual thrash stuff is great, but the fact that these amazing ballads are so often overshadowed is an absolute crime Thank you for reacting to and breaking down this song
Daisuke was probably already thinking about "Radio Asuka" in the moon base when he wrote this (Asuka, aka "That Man", known as the villain, just restored -kinda- his friendship with the main characters in the Strive ending, literally having a moon base where he broadcasts goodwill words to earthlings) . And its lyrics only made some sense two games down the line, since it played more as a calm tune in ggrev story mode (and maybe at one staff roll iirc). Great stuff, at that time it wasn't already uncommon having lyrics in Guilty Gear, but it wasn't the main feature it became now.
This one for some reason is one of my favourites from GG. I think it’s the vocals as it sounds so personal and emotional by the last part, I just get pulled into it. Certainly different from what’s usually expected.
Explaining the whole lore of Guilty Gear would be really difficult, but this song talks about the guilt of some characters, feeling that even if they get to save the world, they couldn't save it's significant other (this can apply to a lot of characters, but more specifically Sol Badguy and Asuka R. Kreutz), in the lyrics of the song there are parts about "The whole world is kind to me, but sorry sorry sorry" "wearing a fine suit, paying by a credit card, but i cannot prove myself" "wearing a shiny crown, paying by a blanc check, that still will not convince myself" This song was on the credits of Revelator, but there are a lot of songs like this on Story Mode, which is basically Guilty Gear anime (there are no fights or whatsoever, it's just an anime inside the game for you to enjoy and know what is happening) Freesia doesn't necessarily is someone or something on the series, it's a flower irl, but i think they used it to refer to Aria, Sol's wife that he killed in order to save the world (she was technically brainwashed and wanted to take over the world) and i think this because in the lyrics it says something about "But without her, I'm not here. Only my shell. Remains here. Lonely, my soul. Left somewhere" "Freesia. Here I am. And sorry sorry sorry." "Hands shaken everywhere, But I, but I, want you by my side!" I love your videos and this one i actually made it almost ten minutes after uploaded, good video as always!

Oh hell yeah finally one of the the calm guilty gear tracks. Honestly while I do love the thrash of normal guilty gear I absolutely ADORE when Daisuke is able to indulge in his love of Queen. While freesia isn't my absolute favorite calmer track (that goes to 'All I can Do') its such a mellow vibe track...and the only place I've ever heard someone soulfully scream out "credit card".
@@roar104 ky is genuinely one of my favorite characters in the story and idk why people give him flak for being "boring". Man went from being one of the most ruthless gear killers to a genuine family man who refused to fight Sol, THE titular guilty gear no matter how much he goaded Ky on. Not to mention he only attacked Sol cuz he brought Dizzy into the conversation who is also part gear. The dynamic between Ky and Sol is honestly great and the wind down cutscene in xrd when this plays is such a good character moment for Ky.
I'm late but, the story of guilty gear (has alot to it but,) has the main thematic recurring element of freedom, both as an individual and in a cosmic sense.
Revelator is just a content expansion of Xrd. Before Arc System Works fully embraced the concept of DLC. This song is from the story mode (an in-game 9 hour movie).
YES! I've really hoped you, Jesse, notice and mention that this song sounds like something out of Elton John's discography. For me it sounds like if Elton John has been tasked to write Space Oddity from the scratch and it shouldn't be Rocketman.
Ballad's became a little more common with Xrd onward, usually in relation to the story. My favorite is All I Can Do, but they're all a nice break from the rest of the soundtrack.
This song is pretty great, pure vibes. It sounds like someone is apologizing for wronging someone else. I don't recall exactly what moment this plays unfortunately but I think it was near the end of the story or credits. Not my favorite ballad from the series but it's still very good.
Do a three-part long vid consisting of: - Holy Orders (Be Or Be Dead) - Magnolia Eclair - The Roar of the Spark All three are Ky Kiske’s themes, from XX, Xrd, and Strive, respectively. There’s a genetic throughline there that I’m interested in seeing you discover.

That's a fact I was really happy to know, today.
Your telling me it's not named after the funny racist purple pokemon alien?😔
This playing when Ky and Sol are talking about their rivalry after their duel just makes much more sense now
This fact makes me sob even more while listening to this song thank you
