    This is the perfect tutorial! I've always been bothered by the lack of good bokeh, but I didn't know how it was done in production. It's clear from your knowledge that you didn't just pick this topic for the sake of putting out another tutorial, great work!

      Thanks very much! It's something I do all the time at work and realised it's probably a little detail most people don't think to do or notice. So I thought it would be a good topic for a video :)

    I usually know most of the basics you're explaining but then you go the extra mile to give tips and tricks and those are invaluable.
    great video !

    Bokeh is One of the things I'm trying not to look generic in the shots I'm rendering. I managed to make it using a few tricks that work in the blender's viewport. Same rules as shown here just that it depends more on how far the bokeh image is from the main center of focus of the camera.

    • @AlfieVaughan
      @AlfieVaughan  19 дней назад +2

      Yeah you can do it at the render stage as well but it's better to do it after so it's more flexible

    I've also been very curios about lens flare. How do professional VFX artists composite lens flare? Like if there's a blue streak stretching from left to right in the clean plate, how do I put a CG object behind the flare?

    • @AlfieVaughan
      @AlfieVaughan  19 дней назад

      We just rebuild the flare. Sometimes you can use a lens flare element or use a tool like Optical Flares to make something similar to the real one. Or an alternative is rotoing the elements of the flare and recreating it using constants at low opacity so you can put them over the CG

    I would love to support you on Patreon, but I don’t work with Nuke at all (too expensive). However, you explain things well and have great ideas. If you could make more clips about Blender and DaVinci Fusion, I would be on board :-) But I totally understand that Nuke is your thing because of your profession. 🙂

      Thanks very much for supporting what I do! Almost everything I post on RUclips is a combination of Blender CG and compositing in Nuke so hopefully you'll still find lots of what you're after on there

    Nice explaination, sir ❤️ i like your nuke tutorials. 👍 but in your videos the screen look very small so sometimes i can't see that what is happening. If it is normal size then it will very helpful. ❤❤

      @AlfieVaughan  19 дней назад +1

      Thank you! I see what you mean. Because my monitor is an ultra wide there's no way to make it fit within a 16x9 RUclips video without having the gaps at the top and bottom. This is the biggest it can be while showing the whole screen

    pgbokeh is not a new version of zdefocus

    • @AlfieVaughan
      @AlfieVaughan  19 дней назад +1

      It more or less is. They integrated it into Nuke because it supports deep whereas zDefocus doesn't. zDecofus still exists but I don't see much point in using it now. Bokeh is much better
