  • Two separate in-depth reviews:
    • Patagonia Nano Air Hoo... - nano
    • Arc'teryx Proton LT Ho... - arc
    So to quickly sum up my nano air is great bud definitely not my favorite. I f there is one I could not live without it would definitely be the Arc due to its durability and supreme fit. As I said in the video, these jackets are pretty much the same besides a few small differences so if you find one on sale or one fits you better just go with that! Definitely try before you buy!

    Interesting. I’ve been considering the nano air… but now I need to check out this Arc jacket.

      definitely try them both on and just get what fots you best, also the arc will for sure be a bit more durable in the long term, and very unlikely to rip. the nano is still an amazing jacket. fit is everything

    Unfortunately, the issue with this review is that these are not the most updated versions of these jackets and they update them every few years. So this comparison may not be accurate to what’s available today to purchase.

      Oh yeah 100%. the patagonia is actually from 2016 i believe while the arc is from 2019 or 2020. not 100% sure on that but pretty sure. one thing too is that its cool to see how the latagonia has held up over time. if it were up to me id go arc in this purchase for sure. mainly cuz it fits me better and because it is un rip able. plus coreloft is known to last longer than prima. (retain loft).

      @@Joshr13047 The version you have is widely different in terms of face fabric durability from the Nano Airs of the last two generations (including the current). Your version and the original are known to pile very easy. The newest version (2023) is CFM and the versions prior (including the one I have is 40CFM).

    Thank you for the video. Love it!
    But, may I suggest something? It would be better if you can speak quicker.
    😉 I dont mean it mean, just a suggestion that would improve your videos.

      100% appreciate it! I have a hard time speaking quickly and saying the correct words. Thats definitely #1 complaint thing i would like to fix lol. I might start putting a "feel free to watch in x2 speed before all my videos

    I might have missed it, but what size is your Proton LT?

  • @chrisa8960
    @chrisa8960 Год назад +1

    Nano Air fit, it looks quite baggy on you. To me a size down would fit you better. Llikewise the hood, my one fits perfectly, no synching required at all. Both have different approach to hud construction, Patagonia is under the helmet design, Arcteryx over the helmet. In my applications Patagonia in this aspect is far superior.

      Great info thank you. They definitely are both great jackets. I think sizing is really what matters

    Primaloft? I think the Nano Air has the Fullrange 60 insulation, made in partnership with Toray Japan.

  • @hoser7706

    Just a point, the Nano Air insulation is in sheets like the Atom LT so actual “loft” might not occur per se. Or at least not like a down plume or PlumaFil. Wonder if the extra warmth comes from reduced CFMs and more wind block.

    Not a good comparison when you have a perfect proton compared to a heavily used nano air that has lost some of its benefits due to possible mistreatment during washes.

    • @Joshr13047
      @Joshr13047  Год назад

      your not wrong! i made sure to mension that it could have been degraded from mis treatment, but in my experience primaloft looses its insulating ability quite a bit when it looses its loft. more so than coroft. I have a super old patagonia ski jacket with primaloft in it that is now not even as warm as my nano air
