There should be some clips of what it sounds like in the cab
I recently installed the Borla S-type on my 2020 F150 5.0 liter. Absolutely love it. The way the exhaust is designed, it's great for daily driving. Really nice cold start bark, has a great rumble while you're into the throttle, and lays quietly in the background during highway cruising. Doesn't have any annoying cabin drone. I don't know how the other exhaust systems in this video sound in person, but I definitely don't regret installing the S-type on my truck.
Just ordered mine for my 2019 Ford f150 v8..unfortunately realtruck.com said shipping it out is going to take longer than usual do to covid 19..i went with the side exit.. did you go side or rear exit?
@@MrSurprenant1 I went with the dual rear exit with black tips, though I'm sure the side exit will be a much quicker install. I've had it on my truck a few months now, and definitely no regrets. The cold start tone definitely gets your attention, but it will settle down a bit once it warms up. Hard throttle tone sounds simply amazing. As far as any cabin drone, you're not going to get much when you're cruising at average speed. I had my truck out on the Jersey turnpike the other day, and traffic was moving a good 75-80 mph. Not a ton of drone on flat highway, but going up an incline with the engine loaded at those speeds, yeah, there's gonna be a bit of exhaust drone in that case. That being said, I wouldn't even think of putting the factory exhaust back on. I think you'll be very pleased with the upgrade.
If you dont mind me asking where did you purchase your cat back..the company realtruck.com has poor customer service and real bad reviews..I cancelled my order through my credit card because I couldn't talk to no one at real truck.com didn't feel safe
@@MrSurprenant1 I got mine from Stage 3 motorsports. I ordered it online. Shipping was pretty fast and everything came neatly boxed up. I ordered my Bilstein leveling kit through Stage 3 motorsports as well. I've never had any issues with that company. They seem to have a pretty decent reputation.
Wow, the ford sounds awesome with the magneflow, also love the looks on the ford you have
I went with a Flowmaster American Thunder on my 5.4L. It was the perfect amount of loud and I got it on sale. If I get a V8 again, that's what I'll go with.
Outlaw hell yeah brother. The best system for the 5L coyote
Loud pipes save lives.
Wheres the Corsa exhaust? Got it on my 16 f150 and also had it on my 16 5.0 mustang before i traded it in... wouldn't choose any other system. No drone and absolutely RIPS!
Gatorsrok why did you trade in your mustang
Borla is better hands down
@@LiquidSm0ke Only 8 months later haha had steering wheel and floor vibration (not wheel balance issue) probly driveshaft or rear diff imbalance, shitty mt82 would clunk into gear intermittently and what not.. overall wasnt all to happy with the car for the 36k i paid, had performance pack and everything else. Was a Ford tech at the time so believe me when i say i tried what i could to alleviate the issues but was goin to be quite a bit of work on a NEW CAR with less than 6k miles on it at the time. now have a 11 CTS-V and wouldnt go back
Gatorsrok hey thanks for the reply I decided not to get a mustang
Flowmaster outlaw system is a head turner and sets off some sensitive car alarms with just a start up and almost any other alarm with a little rev. Really love it on my 5.0
Kyle O I’m wanting to add this and longtube headers. Think it’ll be too loud? 😂😂😂
@@chrisj5.0 As long as you're good friends with neighbors it'll be fine😂
@@kyleo8909👍🏼🤣🤣
Roush sounds the best.
Had it 4 years, and no ones exhaust compares to it.
I live in Texas, and trucks and exhaust go hand and hand.
But if you don’t like drone, then Roush is not one to go with.
I like the sound of the Flowmaster the most, but I would rather the volume of the Magnaflow.
If you want that Flowmaster sound without the excess volume, check out the Force 2 or the American Thunder. Both of which will be less aggressive than the outlaw system featured here- hope this helps! -Justin
BORLA ATTAK IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO PERIOD!
I have a 2006 F-150, with the 4.6 and I have the super 10 muffler, turn downs, and it’s loud af and sounds awesome and aggressive
Are all the exausts in the video with or with out the resonators
AS FAR AS QUALITY GOES, NO ONE BEATS BORLA!
flowmaster looking batter thnx for the vid 🌹
AmericanTrucks Ford - Try the Flow Master Series 10 like they use on Mustangs - They sound real good.
I like the Borla the most. Alas, I drive a mazda 3.
great video, but I think it would have added to it significantly if there was highway driving with a sound meter inside like in decibels or something. I want something that is a little bit louder than stock but still doesn't intrude on how quiet the truck is in the cabin
Thanks for watching, Sam! We appreciate the feedback too! If you're looking to hear your 5.0L just a little bit more but don't want to worry about drone, I'd highly recommend looking into more of the Magnaflow MF Series or Borla Touring Series systems. Both of those will give you more rumble than factory when you stomp your foot down but stay nice and quiet while cruising down the highway. Feel free to check out our site where you can find more information and more videos on each of those systems! -Zach

@@americantrucks Will do. Thanks for the reply! AT is definitely a company I'd want to do business with.
Does the magnaflow mf series come in alumanized steel? I'm only seeing the stainless.
I am trying to decide between the F-150 and the Silverado 1500.......which year and engine would you choose over one or the other and why? Thanks!
That borla looks nice
You definitely can't beat Borla's build quality! Thanks for watching, Eugene! -Zach
Is this the same muffler included in the flowmaster outlaw cat back set for the 3.5 ecoboost?
the audio is muffled in all of your soundclips. not just this video but others as well. remove the wind filter from the mic. I can't really tell what the trucks sound like.
What about the same three sets on the 2019 3.5 L Eco Boost engines, do they sound similar?
They never sound similar unfortunately thats why i opted for the 5.0 in my 21.
True duals on my 5.0… loud!
Just the way we like it! -Zach
F150's have straight through exhausts already. Just replace the muffler with a smaller one if you want louder
Thats certainly one method Victor! -Justin
It's an option, but not the best if you truly want great sound. A lot of the tone is based on the tip design, and piping, etc. I have done 2 muffler only replacements on F150's, and have decided that you just don't quite get the sound of a full cat back.
The stock resonator has to be restrictive, it's is as big as a damn garbage can, the the stock muffler is huge as well. There is a big difference in aftermarket cat back systems.
Put a pipe where resonators go replace the stock muffler with a dynomax ultraflow bet sound great
The stock muffler and stock resonator are straight through design. I'm currently running just a MF muffler swap with resonator delete on my 15' 5.0 F150.
Like the vid.. kool info.....I have a 2013 for f150 fx2... but sadly a v6... what whould be my options for my yr model or is there a vid like this on my yr of truck...
Excellent presentation!!! Thank you!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I went with the magnaflow and happy with it. Was thinking I should've gone borla, but in this video, may be it's just me, the magnaflow sounds a little deeper, borla is louder and a little raspy. Maybe it sounds different in person.
Definitely not just you- I would totally agree that the Magnaflow has a slightly deeper tone overall! -Justin
How’s the drone inside the cab?
Outlaw. Gotcha
Is the S Type louder than the Roush ?
Get some videos with aftermarket exhaust towing a load. Cant find any videos out there with what the interior/exterior sound is like when towing.
He's beautiful!
Could you guys please do a 18 5.0L with the 10 speed.
Its the same motor, Whats the question? lmao C'mon dude
It will still sound different on a 10 speed.
Kohlbi Alexandre no it won’t bro
well bought it for my 18 guess what it sounds different. since the gearing is different my 15 6 speed was louder
@@Gatorsrok No, it's not the exactly the same motor. The 18's come with the gen 3 Coyote which has both port and direct fuel injection as well as updated cylinder heads and spray bore cylinder liners which give it slightly more displacement. The HP is now 395 vs 385 in 2017.
Will aftermarket exhaust void factory warrant? Just bought a 17 f150 5.0
Kyle Mitchell no
Dont be dumb... no it wont....
Kyle Mitchell no
I just bought a 2015 and asked this question, they informed me that a cat-back system would not void anything. Once i removed the cat it would be void
Kyle Mitchell no
No MBRP?
That oullaw is HOTTTTTT
Borla atak is sweet
If interested in the Borla s-type (4 out of 5) but looking for something slightly cheaper. Would anyone have any suggestions? It's nearly $1600 where I live.
MBRP black series 3". It exits in front of the axle which I think looks pretty cool.
Realtruck.com $1100
With these models do you get any clicking noise through the exhaust with the mds switching from 8 to 4 cylinders?
Lol its a Ford. No cylinder deactivation
I got the super 10 not realizing how loud it was 🤣🤣
Roush cat back on mine
john russo mine as well, best sound
I have an 05 F150 with the super 10. I can't think of a single negative thing to say about it.
Daniel Bell did you leave the resonator on?
No
just had that exact Outlaw series with the Super 10 muffler put on my 2014 Ford FX4 a week ago, with the black tips just the same out the back each side. I LOVE everything about it, EXCEPT THE DRONE SOUND you get between 60-75 mph on the freeway is unbearable. I'm surprised that they would make a system like this, which costs you a hard earned $1,100 out of your pocket, advertise it for these specific daily driver vehicles, and have a drone sound with this muffler where you can't even hold a conversation with your wife in the truck while cruising on the freeway.
I have a '96 Camaro SS with the first SLP exhaust that came with no resonator, stock, that is louder than this truck but has zero drone on the freeway, so I know exhaust. That is a beautiful designed exhaust. So I'm used to loud exhausts. But this drone at a constant speed is unbearable. You can't exit your truck every time feeling like you just left a 2 hour concert standing next to the floor tower speakers. I just spent 4 hours putting Dynomat along the back wall of the truck cab wall, and as that helped take away some road noise, it did absolutely nothing for the drone. Waste of time and money even more. On this truck, there's 2 baffles along the back wall that you can't cover up because that helps release the air pressure inside the cab for when the AC kicks on and the windows are up. So I covered those up with plexiglass except at the 2 ends to still allow air flow through it for pressure release. But by doing that, it still allows sound inside the cab. The back windows obviously doesn't help to keep sound out either. And that all comes from the Super 10 muffler that unfortunately is 12 inches away right behind the back cab area.
I'm going to have to go back and talk to them and see about the 40 muffler and if that'll help with the drone while hopefully not losing the overall sound that I've already gotten used to and like. Dropping $1,100 on a setup for what they offer on a daily driver that has this much drone, they really dropped the ball in not advertising this to consumers. Who wants this drone sound? Advertising the fact that it is one of their loudest options is NOT the same as having an unbearable continual drone sound that is not healthy for your ears. An hour after driving the truck on the freeway, I still have that humming in the ears from it like I just left a concert. People equate "loud", with the rumble that they hear from their online sound clips. BUT, their sound clips don't give you the cruising speed drone that you get, when that is what you are doing the most on the freeway.
If you city drive from street light to street light, this may never be an issue, but when you drive 30mi one way on the freeway day to day to work, drone is your enemy. I don't know anyone who thinks this drone sound is cool.
I will now have to look for plan B. I hope I find it.
I’m interested in the Borla S, but how do you get rid of the backfiring?? Is there a tune for that?
Justin which one you think is Louder. Roush or Borla Attack for 5.0L?
Man, that is a tough one. I'd almost say its too close to call, both are screamers. -Justin
borla is louder
Yesss 💁🏻♀️
Will any of these exhaust void the manufacturer's warranty on my 2019 F150 XL?
That's a very hard question but also easy question to answer. Will it void ford factory warranty? Yes it would, any modification will void ford factory warranty. Now then what about dealer warranty? That's something you need to find out on your own by talking to a service rep.
Manny Rodriguez I got the borla s type on mine. I have a video if you want to hear what it sounds like. No exhausts do not void factory warranty.
From what I understand, the factory warranty won't cover anything that failed specifically due to modification. If you modify your suspension and your ball joints fail, that's probably not gonna be covered by a warranty. If you install an aftermarket exhaust and your power window motor goes bad, the warranty would still be valid as the modified exhaust has nothing to do with the power windows. That being said, it never hurts to contact someone at your dealership and see if you can get some specifics about warranty issues before you perform any modifications.
Why is it only 2015 and up? 5.0 was put into the F150 in 2011.
Fitment is slightly different. -Justin
Rush?
Roush exhaust better than all
What's the loudest one
the Flowmaster Outlaw. he said it in the video.
Magnaflow sounds natural and menacing, everything after is just trying too hard, and the outlaw is straight up obnoxious.
I have a super 10 on my f150....yes it drones. No I don't care.
Haha- well said! -Justin
I have a outlaw series on my 13 5.0 F150. You'll definitely get noticed with this system. nothing better when your sitting in Toronto traffic next to some meathead on their phone, and smashing down on the go pedal to get their attention.. love the way it sounds! Would never go back to stock
KnuckleBab1es haha you can imagine how many middle fingers I've been presented with from doing that exact thing! Get off your phone's idiots!
could you do one of these videos for the 3.5 ecoboost?
You serious?
@@igorbukhantsov he is. Apparently he likes more HP, Torque, MPG over an old school motor that people buy for saying they have a V8 pickup. Lol love my '74 4×4 with a 390 swap on a 4b Holly but like my 3.5 that gets 20 city/highway
Just get the sewing machine going and there's your sound
Does the exhaust on the 15-17 F150 fit the 2018 F150? Or does the 18 F150 need a new designed exhaust. With the 10 speed transmissions I wonder if a new designed exhaust us required.
We haven't had the chance to test the 15-17 systems on an 18 yet, so at this time I can't give you a 'Yes or No' answer on that. -Justin
It’ll fit
Love these exhausts, but, other than the sound. It increases hp too, right?
B1R : It can increas, but it is a very small amount. Usually only 5-10hp more with an aftermarket system.
I personally am not spending north of $700 for something that gives an extra 5 HP.
Catbacks are more of a sound changer than performance enhancer. -Justin
lol
borla atak is way louder
I know it's your line up..... but really. Drone master over the roush
Keep in mind, this list was based off of overall volume & like it or not- The Flowmaster is the louder of the two. -Justin
hanratty450 I have the roush exhaust on my 2015
Roush sounds the best.
What, no Roush
like,fit on my truck.Jeff Schwersinske
Thanks Jeff! -Justin
Holy overpriced exhaust, jesus
1k for a cat back exhaust system isnt over priced
Flo Pro sounds better than any of these by far.
Flowmaster.... more like RUST MASTER! BAD way to spend $800!!
Can’t take you seriously ever after promoting Flowmaster. Junk
Flowmaster makes some solid stuff and have been in the exhaust game for ages, sorry to hear you're not a fan. Thanks for watching regardless! -Zach
Magnaflow Sucks!
