    I would say you are the most inspirational person for photography. At least for me. Those techniques that you mentioned in the video are very easy to understand. The way that you talk in the video without editing, and cutting like others makes me really enjoy to watch

    My wife started doing product photography a couple of years ago. She mainly works with bracelets and we've found that the 12x12 sheets of paper you can buy from Hobby Lobby and other craft stores works so so well for flay lay backgrounds. And there is so much variety you can get for under a dollar per page. She uses it a ton and it looks great. It has been a boon for us as we learn. And your videos have helped that learning process a lot! I love your tone in these videos and how you explain things. Much respect!

    I shoot mostly jewelry, and bought an assortment of leather scraps on ebay for backgrounds. lots of colors and textures, and a nice contrast with "sparklies" :-) They were around $10 for a big box full. you can also get a12" x 12" pad of heavy weight paper with assorted designs. They're sold with scrapbooking supplies. Also have used jeans, lace doilies, a jacket, scarf and other things in a pinch, to get a particular look.

    I enjoy your videos - that's like me - I am creative - I found white does nothing for clear glass products and so I used my black cardigan as a backdrop for the glass and it made a big difference to the glass - it showed the sharpness of the lines of the glass - it actually was a tall narrow three-lined sided vase or known as a single rose vase - you could see through the glass to the black backdrop - it blocked out the sharpness of the light I was using and showed up the lines of the vase better - I was very pleased with myself but at the same time doubt set in but went with it anyway LOL!!! Thanks for all your videos on knowing how to control the light was amazing.

    Do have a scale to which you price your sessions?
    I’m shouting a party in a couple of months and plan to pull some client contacts from it.
    But what to charge for what?
    Do you have any tips on pricing corporate headshots, portraits and so on
    Thanks from Atlanta GA

    • @LukeAyers
      @LukeAyers  2 года назад

      Pricing is personal and any ideas I give you may not apply in all situations. Depends on the type of client with how I judge it. Businesses and people who look like they can afford good quality work (and make sure you deliver quality to that standard) could be charged from $500-$1000+. Whereas you're everyday person could go for around $250. Or even $100 when you're just starting out.
