So an accident with a normal person who has normal insurance isn't gonna get you more than your medical bills and property fldamage. And that's best case scenario. Those TV Attorneys are a huge ripoff and could care less about their clients. By the time the attorneys take out their fees, pay the medical bills there is usually a small amount left for the client as I’ve seen where the client will get about 25 percent of the total settlement
I was thinking the same...it's like gas prices; they get jacked up super high and then when they come down any at all, everyone is like, "yah, gas is cheaper"....but it's still fucking expensive!
The point of a work truck has been lost. Who would pay $60-100k for a truck and actually use it to throw tools, car parts, rocks, and manure in the bed?
Yup. I got 2008 silverado 2500 HD w.t. used in 2012 for 20K cda. Still have it no issues other than replace alternator few months ago...the mechanic said never sell these are last of the good ones and showed his 2022 truck he hates it but wanted a new vehicle
Yeah, new cars are just a maintenance nightmare anyway, with too many sensors for stupid things. If the sensor breaks, you have to fix or you get a check engine light. My hood open light came on with a 2019 vehicle, but the hood wasn't open so I had to pay $250 to fix the sensor that was wrong about my hood being open. WTF is going on in the automotive industry?
I remember back when a new truck was $35 k a house $150 k and minimum wage was $7.25. Now minimum wage is still $7.25 but that truck is $60 k and the house $450 k.

Even $50,000 is too much for a truck! $40,000 for a full sized, loaded 1500/f150 is getting in the realm of willing to negotiate.. Im not even considering until prices are cut un half
But then a unibody cuv like a Pilot needs to be 30k, a crv 20k, a civic….15k? Now we are getting down to golf cart/atv prices. Everything would have to come down in half for a loaded pickup to be 40k

I'd love to see the bare bones basic truck come back... I mean REAL bare bones - manual door locks, hand crank windows, no Auto lights or windshield wipers. Too many electronic items are now standard which increases the price. I just want an engine and a truck!!!
I want that too, but it's sadly never going to happen here. I miss my 97' S-10. As basic as things come. Strong V6 engine, manual tranny, crank windows, manual locks, no A/C, a suspension with actual grease fittings, a good size bed for a small pickup. I beat the piss out of that thing, but you didn't feel bad about that because it was never meant to be a luxury vehicle. I still regret selling it.
Had a '97 Tacoma that way. Only thing power on it was the radio and steering. Was in the shop once for a wiring harness. Replaced the starter once myself. That's it. Was 13 years old when it got totaled. Sad day. Only negative those trucks were a littlle bouncy in the ass. Throw a bail of hay or something in bed for some weight and they'd settle down and drive nice. Not luxury but they never broke down.
@@doug0810 That little modular truck? That thing is so cool. You'd have to import it though, and then know for sure you can even legally operate it in whatever state you are in. I keep telling myself that, but I'm almost at a quarter million miles on my '13 Raptor which is my work truck, over the last year I've been throwing tons of $ into maintenance and I sometimes wonder if the inflated prices are worth the knowing that it'll be a while before I need to do any major maintenance again. It's a difficult decision to make. I turn my own wrenches, so I couldn't imagine how much I'd be spending if I was like half of people who take their trucks to the dealership or local shops for work.
@@Another_Saved_Sinner I've got just over a quarter million miles on my 02 Tahoe that I use a lot for hauling trailers and I've spent very little money on maintenance since I purchased it in 2010 with 88K miles on it.
The same people spending $80k on a truck are whining that they can't afford to buy a house. Ya know what? Might be easier if you didn't have a $800 truck payment!
80k would be a $1,600ish payment with no down payment. My house payment on a 5 bedroom 2 bath 3,200 sq ft house is $690. And that was with only a 5% down payment. Including taxes and insurance.
A large percentage of our population is terrible with money. Vehicles are one of the biggest things that keep people from ever getting ahead. Ridiculous marked up prices aside, you should only be spending what you can afford on a vehicle. Preferably you should pay cash, or at the very least put a very large down payment and pay it off quickly. Life is expensive enough without a vehicle loan dragging you down. Secondly, people need to take care of their vehicles and start keeping them longer. You don't need a new car every 5 years.

Mine is a fine old craftsman, theirs is a cedar contemporary. Houses were cheap here forever and relatively speaking they still are. But they are much higher now.

The reason the prices aren't budging is because there's still a lot of suckers out there taking 288 month loans at 99% interest because they're obsessed with image.
Don't blame the bank it's supply and demand, It's the same as housing as long as people are willing to pay 1.7 million for a house that would cost 200 k elsewhere it's going to continue consumers have to just stop and prices will come down
@@amelliamendel2227Its not quite that simple. In the 70s, during the oil crisis, lots of different parts of the world started legislating small, efficient vehicles and expanding public transit. Most of the rest of the world functions with small vehicles. We were taught to buy overpriced, gigantic, unsafe vehicles and we were taught very effectively, to the point where people think $100k ladder frame pickups sell because of "demand"
You're completely correct. This is the reason and people can't afford at best 7-9% interest car loans for something no one actually needs, it's really a luxury good
I need to point out that my brother in law, who was a GM truck engineer at the GM proving grounds, never once purchased any new car or truck and retired at 55. Smart man.
My 1995 7.3 5 speed 4x4 f350 still knocks down over 350 miles a week, even at 320k miles and 29 years old, everything including the air conditioning still works and runs perfectly. With these prices ill just keep my dinosaur. She got another 175k miles in her at least.

In 1980 the median family income was ~$21,000 and the average model new automobile cost was ~$7,000 dollars. Today, the average household income is $78,000 and the average model new automobile cost is ~$46,000 dollars. If a new automobile just kept pace with inflation, it should now cost ~$26,000 dollars not ~$48,000 dollars.
Yeah but now they offer 8 year loans so people can get an automatic 4x4, dual zone climate control, premium upholstery and 10 speaker Mark Levinson stereo. My first truck in '78 had no AC, no radio, no carpet, was 1 wheel drive and 5 speed manual. And I was in hog heaven because it was mine.
$78,000 is based on a dual income family. In 1980 most homes were single income. Not sure how that factors into your calculations but I know very few people that make $78,000.
In reality, housing is worse than the auto market now as far as pacing with incomes. Not many things "keep pace" with inflation, including wages. When you have an administration printing valueless money with no backing and flooding the economy with it, well, let's just say quantitative easing. NOT GOOD. I'm 66 and have purchased relatively few vehicles in my life - as in maybe eight. My first one was a LONG time ago and it was used. Since then, in spite of being very well aware the "worst financial decision" anyone can make is buying a new car, that's what I've done because that's what I prefer. I cut corners in enough things and can afford it, even with the disapproval from the financial experts. I give myself that and am in an excellent financial situation and just pay cash. I don't have any vices and have always been very good with money, but the main thing for me is I always, ALWAYS, kept my cars and trucks and SUVs in excellent shape. All maintenance was done to the manufacturer's recommendations and coupled with relatively low mileage I put on a vehicle, I always got very good trade ins. For instance, I have a 2018 Toyota Tacoma Sport with 36k on it, and that'll last me forever, and with me only driving four times or so a week now - often less - and with me usually riding the Harley on nice days, it works out perfectly. I WILL say, I'm glad I'm not in the market for a vehicle now though.
2000 Toyota Tacamo 4 cyclinder manuel stickshift was $13,775 Tulsa, Oklahoma summer/fall. They knocked the 775 off without asking, accepted 500 cash down and 500 on an old trash truck and i financed $ 12,000 for a brand new economy pickup. Drove it about 5 years and put roughly 120,000 miles on it. Drove it to San Luis Obispo, Sacremento, California and back. Bought a new tire at 53,000 miles; purchased a parking bulb for a dollar or two. It was so maintence free the whole time. Drove like a dream the whole time.

I drive a 25 year old suv and keep it running tip top doing all the work myself being a former certified auto mechanic in my earlier years. I will never buy these tiny ugly bubble looking vehicles they try to pass of as cars and suv's these days nor will I buy electric anything. I would gladly buy a nice big pickup if the prices came way down considerably. If they don't, no problem. I will buy a used 15-20 year old vehicle that is still a decent size and pay cash for it.. I care to impress no one in life but myself
It’s hilarious. I’ve been to bunch of dealers and it’s like they’re in denial. 75k trucks just sitting there and even if you give them an aggressive offer they won’t accept it. 1k a month for a pick up. Worst part is the tahoes and Yukons are selling but the pick ups just sit there. There are people willing to g to really pay over 1k a month th for a non luxury vehicle. It’s insane. Go and try to ask for a discount done here in south Florida for a Tahoe and they will laugh at you. A bunch of imaginary incentives that no one can qualify for.
Tahoes and Yukons are meant to be passenger vehicles, whereas the backseat in a quad-cab pickup, no matter how expensive it, is not as comfortable as a nice SUV. The back seats of pickups are too upright and cannot be reclined. Also, your cargo is secure in an SUV. So, unless you really, truly need a pickup for work or whatever, an SUV is more practical for most people.
I looked it up they do 30 year financing for the 168k Ford f150. Payments are roughly 1,250 a month. That's actually a pretty good deal, especially with a low 8% interest rate for customers with a 750 or higher credit score. To top it all off with a 3 thousand dollar rebate is an absolute steal.
I paid $10k for a 2002 Totota Tacoma TRD with 274k miles. That was a lot of money for a guy like me, but in the end I feel it was worth it. Right. Who are the most greedy ones though? The manufacturers or the dealerships or the union workers who went on strike for ridiculous demands and compensation - with benefits - a hundred dollars an hour - or all three? Serious question. The best thing to do is keep what you have and take good care of it. That's what I'm doing. The US auto industry is going down anyhow, and everyone knows it, including the auto makers who, like lemmings, are going along with this ridiculous EV mandate this "government" is forcing on them, and that's why they caved and gave the union workers that money; they know most of them will be out of a job in a matter of a few years. Never thought of that. I wonder how often they have rotate electric vehicles before they sell each one
I bought a 1972 Chevy 4X4 and had it off frame restored in 8 months. I told shop I wanted new everything. I paid $46,677.00. The truck looks and runs better than the new $100,000.00 trucks. I will never but a new factory truck again.
I refuse to buy a new or newer used truck or any new car again…..I’ve been priced out of the market by the automakers stupidly high asking prices and high interest rates set by the banks…..
My 16 year old scion got blasted by a driver with no insurance. So I had to put 24k down to get payments under 200 a month......
I make 6 figures and no kids. I have 0 debt besides my mortgage and no car payment.
Those Black Widow's wouldn't even pass inspection in NH with the tires sticking out beyond the fenders.
Get about 10 buddies together and have everyone go in separately and all offer $30k ish on one of their $100k trucks and see the sales people melt.
Its cheaper to buy Lexus than Toyota lol
Thats a terrible deal. Nobody should ever pay on a vehicle for 30 years. 😂😂😂🤦🏼♂️
@@MotorFeed 🤣🤣
I think the joke went over a lot of peoples heads 😂
@@petezee6645 lmao 🤣
They were smiling during the Great Price Gouge.
I paid $10k for a 2002 Totota Tacoma TRD with 274k miles. That was a lot of money for a guy like me, but in the end I feel it was worth it. A car/truck/motorcycle just is not worth the insane amount of money they want for it. I have never bought a new vehicle of any kind, and with prices like this, I never will. My HOUSE cost $111,000, I'm not buying a fucking pickup for almost what my house cost. Good god. These people are insane.
The new tundra stinks.
Put the v eight engine back in it
100% agree!
The prices are absolutely outrageous too. I was just at the dealership earlier today getting my 3rd gen Tacoma serviced and looked around on the lot. They had non TRD models marked in the mid $70's.
Agreed and put some damn recovery hooks on it
@@CrJediKnightmy toyota dealer has a sr5 tundra with sticker at $65k with no discounts. It's been on the lot for many months. The TRD trims ain't selling either
@@CrJediKnightMy basic 2012 Tacoma Access Cab is still running as good as ever and KBB values it at about half the $20k I paid for it new. No reason for me to consider anything new.
Theres a massive void in the market right now for small, affordable, and economical cars and especially trucks/work vehicles that have those characteristics. Whoever fills that gap is going to make a ton of money.
Shout out to mom. God bless all mom's.
Well there's only so many people who need and can afford new trucks or suv's, they'll upkeep the ones they have.
They tried to screw me on a trade in as well as screw me on a purchase. I told the salesman I’ll wait , took down their name and said I’ll come back to screw you in a year . They called 4 times since then I tell them the same thing every time they call
“ not yet , it’s not time yet “ . They tried and failed , now they are gonna have to learn how to sell a truck doggy style !
😅😅😅😅
Why would I pay $100,000 for a truck when a few years ago I bought the exact same truck for 35k. And I thought 35,000 k was too expensive
4500 for collision insurance for my 2015 Lexus gs350 cancelled that and just doing liability... from now on I am buying disposable cars under 10k no more.. insurance too much.. can you imagine insuring those monstrosities
I dunno I have an F150 platinum and it’s like $1400 CAD per year full coverage. Clean record though.
Insurance is also priced by credit score lol....
During Covid when there were shortages the dealers were marking vehicles up and people were paying the higher prices. The manufacturers saw what was happening and wanted their slice of the pie so they raised prices a lot .Now they are playing the long game and continue building even though sales have fallen off a cliff. Before long they will be asking for a government bail out. Hopefully they won't be rewarded for their greed.
Went to the Hyundai dealer yesterday.3995 Market Adj.
999 ceramic coating.149 nitrogen and 249 for door handle guards which are little 4x4 clear plastic things that cost 5 bucks for 4 on eBay.And you wonder why no one is buying?
Lol! For a frickin Hyundai.....wow.
I got floor mats and trunk liners. Protective hand guards, truck privacy screen and sun reflector for free and I paid under msrp. It's my 3rd new subaru
They think everyone is an idiot.
Dealer wanted over 2500 a month for a Toyota Sequoia in nj in 7yr finance. Wtf.....
They are not worth more than 60000 because they are not as dependable as the older ones. It's all led by greed! Greed Kills!
It's called getting it while you can, and Shawn Fain and Mumbles Biden were right there with the strikers, who are too dumb to know what's going on. They already have so many vehicles made and sitting, they'll just lay off the "valuable" and "indispensable" workers who make all that bag. LOL.
The government did this. Manufacturers would live to sell cheaper vehicles but can't. A car selling for 20k brings almost no profit. That's why nissan sells so many cars and they all suck ass now
Our money has no value anymore.
Monopoly money 🤑🤑🤑💰💰💰🤑💰 😢
An issue I have is with what they call “options” now a days. Things you can get standard in other cars. You buy a limited trim for more then a sr5 trim and still pay the “CarPlay” option price on top of it. Show me a limited anywhere made without CarPlay.
These truck prices are insane. I bought my Access Cab Tacoma 12 years ago and have about 120k miles on it. KBB puts it at about $10k value for direct sale. I paid $20k for it new.
10k now would be like 5k back when you paid for it
@@svenjorgensenn8418 giving him an inflation-adjusted ownership cost of $1,250 a year.
$91k for a bronco?!?! 😳 that’s insanity!!
I purchased a brand new build 1900sq ft house in 2003 for $132k. It boggles the mind seeing someone selling a truck for $152k 😱😱
Yeah but that same house is now over 200k because of inflation
@@svenjorgensenn8418 yeah for sure. That house is now worth $420k. It's a simple 2 story single family home. How in the world is a young couple supposed to afford that.
Lol 152k you could get a older model lambo like a gallardo.
They haven’t been selling for months. Economy is crap and people don’t have the money
I'm sitting here thinking 45k for that red ram is still too damn much.
RAM E-junk lol
Considering I bought one new in '17 with a Hemi and 4x4 for $39K, yes, it is way too damn much.
Didn't even pay $100k for my current house.
Feels like dealers would rather go down with the ship than lower their prices.
Good. Let them. Bunch of greedy bastards
The Ram dealer still has a 2022 on the lot. That should tell you everything.
$70k-$150k for a pickup truck?? GTFO. F&@k that. How about no markups and add ons.
The cost of living has risen so much that buying new cars seems like a bad financial decision for most.
The whole industry will fall due to greed.
Hopefully
Good, then they will be begging us to come take the cars. 😂😂
Im an employee for a dealership and i can get a 48k vehicle for 36k after discounts now. The cars just sit their. Parts, service and body shop is the main money maker now. Sales is running a skeleton crew cause they don’t make any money
I drive a $5000 beater to work. It runs great and has cold AC. It even has a sunroof and is enjoyable to drive with a 5 speed and peppy engine. 36 mpg. No payment. Cheap insurance. I could pay cash for one of those crazy trucks but screw that.
I drive an ‘08 ranger. No air, no cruise, manual windows and locks.
I’ll keep driving it until I can no longer get parts for it.
@@williamsporing1500 you cheap bastard..... !
Went to look at a used Tacoma with 100k on the clock, paint was fucked, the interior smelt like cigarettes and the dealer wanted 40k for it, walked out without saying a word. When dealerships start going out of business I’m not gonna feel an ounce of sympathy
In 12 years these will be worth $25k
Way too much still for a 12 year old car
In 12 years, they will be at a junkyard waiting to be thrown in a crusher. These vehicles are made to self destruct at 10 years/ 100,000 miles
Eh, same happened in Brazil during the pandemic... prices still havent lowered back to reasonable prices, im pretty sure they wont ever lower😂
auto start/stop on all these trucks is annoying... not paying these prices to have features i dont want.
You can turn it off. Also it's a government regulation lol
@@svenjorgensenn8418 turn off permanemtly? I can get a GX 550 without it... dont think Tundras have it either. Hard pass on govt bs.

In the 1920's, the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's etc, it snowed like crazy in the winters. 4 wheel drive was a rarity, Somehow, they didn't definitely need it.
I would not mind buying a new pickup. With the 80's-90's bare-bones style. Just updated for environmental requirements.
I seen the black widow on 75 in Dallas...It looked like a teenager just bought ebay spider decals and pasted them on his truck.
Plus it was slow ,my Audi A8 gapped him by 3 school buses.
I paid $32,000 for a new Tundra V8 5.7L in 2017. Why are these trucks $65,000 to $115,000? Who has that type of money? What will they be worth in 5 years? And how many year financing is out there? 10 year financing? 😂
