Ms Kang may be a journalist, but she is not an interviewer. Ms Sedaris and Ms Everett are so intelligent and naturally humorous and this interview was saved by them.
The energy between Bridget and Amy is terrific, and I love how much they appreciate each other and their differences. Inkoo Kang is hands-down my favorite media writer (have loved her writing and brilliant analysis since she was at the Washington Post), but... And if The New Yorker insists on featuring their writers as moderators, at least give them adequate coaching (new and different skillsets) and other support (audio set-up?) prior to putting them in the spotlight.
It takes a special talent to make an interview with these talented and creative people boring. I did enjoy that They found ways to make fun of her to her face. 12:53
Inkoo's Valley Girl upspeak ruins this. So annoying when you are really interested in the interviewees but the moderator makes it unbearable to listen to.
That interviewer was so bad at this that it came off as disrespectful. Completely out of her depth. Did they not think about having her practice in a less important venue? Or find someone who wasn't completely unable to host an event?
I’m trying to be understanding, but Kang comes off as being out of her depth or unprepared. Her questioning style, her “Bay Area” affect, the ding dongs of it all, I’m not sure why she was chosen for this interview. Bridget and Amy were very gracious with her.
I love these 2 women but the interviewer's vocal fry made this unbearable to listen to. Letting these 2 women interview each other would have been the way to go.
These two are hilarious and I agree that this was the wrong interviewer. I think her job as a tv critic insulates her and makes her take herself too seriously.
Needed an experienced interviewer to keep up with these two. Inkoo's default was "as you've gotten older"...wanted to mute, but Amy and Bridget STARRED in spite of interviewer awkwardness and rudeness
Inkoo Kang seems like an audience member who wandered on stage and no one wanted to tell her to return to her seat. We are almost 8 minutes in and nothing has been said.
Inkoo Kang is perhaps the worst interviewer in the history of time. I hate to be mean, but it is painful to watch. She needs to never interview anyone again. This skill is simply not in her wheel house. What was the New Yorker thinking, one wonders? Torture. I couldn't watch it all the way through. It literally made me crazy. I think it made Ms. Sedaris and Ms Everett crazy, as well.
I don’t think that’s sad. There’s a certain smell that I come across once in a while that I can only describe as pink plastic and it transports me to my childhood.
Love the guests💛💛 but they really didn't need an interviewer😂

it’s painful- I don’t think I can make it
Agreed
😢😳🙄
I wish the facilitator had more energy and it was better prepared. Needs to be more fast-paced and energetic with between two comedians.

I hated it.. it was cruel and unneccessary.
I knew the comments would eat the commentator alive .. but, These two LADIES ARE HYSTERICAL AND GENUINE AND Thankyou for this , New Yorker!

Agreed. This moderator did zero favors for these two hilarious creatives.
Gawd!! I thought it was just me😱😳 I can't even finish the vid & these are 2 of my favorite women. It's insufferable.
5 minutes in and I'm all Kanged out! Byeeee!
you lasted longer than I did and I love Amy sedaris so much.

"I have to say this: thank you for being here." Are you not thankful that they are there? What is wrong with this lady?
Is funny that Bridget mentioned Valium early on in the interview because that interviewer…

I switch off so many creators because of vocal fry.
I love Bridget & Amy but I don’t think I can bear watching this much longer for this same reason…

6:07 Amy's face is all of us. This interviewer is horrible.
There’s some kind of paradox with having such an interviewer with so little chemistry
Inkoo Kang seems like an audience member who wandered on stage and no one wanted to tell her to return to her seat. We are almost 8 minutes in and nothing has been said.
What is going on with kang?
What do you mean?
Adore this. Lower chairs or foot support anyone?
Better moderator needed. Upspeak valley girl blah blah come on
If you like to get to the point, start at 7:47
If you have an incompetent interview host, then you MUST edit the interview. It was like watching mud dry, only worse.
Why the interviewer thinks there’re the Star.
Took 8 minutes before a question was even asked....
First thing out of interviewers mouth is an INSULT! WTF 😢
Can we please give Amy a box to rest her feet on? This happens to me all the time with chairs. It’s uncomfortable after a while.
Pretty sure she can speak for herself. If she wanted a box, she’d ask for one.
Inkoo.....BOO

Longest introduction ever.
Amazing transformation- you have such talent ❤
Thank you New Yorker! ❤ Love Amy, say hi to David.
Wow this is beyond painful with that interviewer. Terrible voice and not an interviewer. Poor Bridget and Amy....ugh...
Dang... this interviewer is not it. Can't keep watching as much as I love these 2 women.
I love rabbits too Amy. A 74 years young guy and l agree they are cute and cuddly. The fur reminds me of a woman’s skin. Sad or what?
I don’t think that’s sad. There’s a certain smell that I come across once in a while that I can only describe as pink plastic and it transports me to my childhood.
⚓️ Thanks TNYer 🌈
This interviewer is so epically bad at this its almost impressive.
LOVE LOVE LOVE
Love both of them, but yawn.
Did Amy just say she "I drinks too fast."?....... Kidding!
I want to be a whole people!
I CANNOT STAND THIS INTERVIEWER PLEASE why is she talking like this
Unwatchable 😢
