  • The Mighty Cash Cats' original tune, "The Ballad of Johnny and June, pays tribute to the "First Couple of Country Music", Johnny Cash and June Carter and Sam Phillip's Sun Records' roster including the "Million Dollar Quartet" of Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Johnny Cash plus Roy Orbison and Cash's band, The Tennessee Three; Luther Perkins, WS "Fluke" Holland, and Marshall Grant. The Mighty Cash Cats' Michael Jay and Leticia Blumette sing a duet on this tune. The music and Lyrics were written by Michael Jay.
"The Ballad of Johnny and June"
Johnny was born a poor boy down in Arkansas
June was one of the Carters, Mother Maybelle was her maw
Johnny went to Memphis back in '54
Signed with Sam Philips, who opened up the door to:
Elvis, and Carl, Roy and Jerry Lee
All on Sun Records for all the World to See
    Hey Johnny, Hey June
    Lets sing across this land
Country Music, Rockabilly, and the blues with our band
A little bit of Jackson, that's what we like to do
Singing our duets and some Gospel music too
Johnny and June united, back in '62
Sang duets together with the Carter family too
Bringing their music all across this land
Luther, Fluke, and Marshall were playing in their band
Hey Johnny, Hey June, Lets Walk the Line
And Sing Jackson Just One More Time
Country Music, Rockabilly, Blues with our band
A little bit of Jackson and the Guitar Pickin' Man
    Hey Johnny, Hey June
Lets keep singing across this land
Country Music, Rockabilly, and the blues with our band
A little bit of Jackson, that's what we like to do
Singing our duets and some Gospel music too
