Can you spot my little helper and her red crayon? :) She is not feeling her best today, so I hope we get to cheer up your day and maybe ours is going to get a little bit better. Happy Sewing!
I have been watching videos of people telling me how to draft a "sloper" "a bodice Black" and got totally baffled by it all and thought THIS IS NOT FOR ME. until i found Alisa. i binged watched all her video i sew her announce her pregnancy and have herd and seen the little one grow in a matter of weeks. i am sticking with Alisa as her delivery of the videos is the BEST i have seen and i get what she is saying. and if i don't i re-watch. AND when i do try for real i will watch and pause at all the stages and i have a sneaky feeling i will be ok and will have a Garment i made myself and will be very proud of it. Thank you Alisa. x and your apprentice will be behind a machine very soon i bet.
Your tutorials are so beautifully presented... fantastic detail and I love the 'if you see this and the reasons why'. Your wee dolly is getting so big and as sweet as you are. Thanks for your wonderful drafting tutorials.
Wow! You are really extending your skills. Love your customized patterns. Store bought patterns need so many adjustments anyway, may as well start from scratch with lass confusion. Your explanations are soooo clear. Love your cutie imitating your hand motions. She’ll be sewing before you know it.
Thank you. Another great video. I really liked the illustrations that showed which sides to cut on the fold. It made the whole project even clearer. Keep up the good work. 👍🏾
Ah, thank you! Great question - it will depend on the size and on the type of the base (the sweatshirt) that you're going to pick - I have a few interesting options listed in the infobox from previous tutorials. I love the no-shoulder seam trick, but it does use quite a bit of fabric and leave remnants, so if short on fabric, I would go with something that has a separate bodice and a sleeve. I would day 1.5-2 yds to be sure for adults. Members Extra and Instruction Sheets will go live in about an hour :)
@@ThoughtfulCreativity Since I have to order most of the fabric in most cases I always order 2 yards as a just in case unless it's something small that I know I won't need more.
Thanks so much for this! I am stuck in a foreign country with no access to tissue patterns and absolutely hate pdf patterns. Needed a good pattern. How did you know? You simplify things so well.
Alisa, your daughter is growing up! Excellent tutorial, as always. I was so excited to see that you are going to be part of September Dress a Girl! You know that is near and dear to my heart. I just discovered Mari today, in fact. Happy sewing!
This is super easy to follow. Definitely something I'm going to try once it starts getting a little colder. Loved the tip for slashing the pattern to do the different necklines. I've just been doing ineffective pattern origami! If you wanted to add a zip to the front I assume you'd have to make it wider than the back to account for the extra seam allowance?
that's what i do. i watch a few times more if needed. and i haven't sewn any thing yet. but i do know if you have any worry's just ask Alisa and she will help you i am shore. good luck.
Thank you for all the help, can you show us how to change a neckline on a block pattern….. most of your tops are quite high in the neck and I just want to know how to change this into something different…. If you could SHOW US, by changing a high neck pattern it would help us beginners so much, thanks Georgia
Block pattern necklines are always high as they are not a garment, but a pattern block. To change the neckline - widen it from CF to the right (or left, however you draft your pattern) and deepen it down the CF. Easy as that :) I have a video on how to draft and sew a V neck - you can check out that tutorial to have a basic understanding of what I am talking about.

Can show how to make nursing subs
Hope the little cutie is feeling better soon😍
Can you please show us how to make a nightgown ? Thank you so very much 💕

OMG, mine is CRAZY about dinos! If it can be pink AND with dinos - the magic combination, lol.
@@ThoughtfulCreativity Mine loves pink and blue the most! The fabric is blue. 💙

Fantastic!! I will do one for my daughter who is leaving for High School 😊 Thank you so much!!!
My pleasure :)
Your little girl has grown so much, she's just adorable! About how much fabric do you think I would need to get for an adult?

I might have to watch this a couple times more I am a little lost with the head piece🙈😁

Well explained thank you so much. My question is what if you don't stich lining and just heam it. Will it be good?
Yes, you can.
Very beautiful 😍👏🏻

Why were the cuffs & bottom part smaller & how do you get those measurements?
Information about the cuffs is in the infobox, as mentioned in the video.
Theyre slightly smaller to create a gather or cinch
👍👏👏👏👏
Did you add a band into the hood?
watch again, everything is shown
@@ThoughtfulCreativity I did. So no band :) thank you for a wonderful tutorial!
