Synopsis:
Charles Alderson and his wife settle in the Wyoming Territory, and form a lasting friendship with Thomas Jefferson "Windy" Gibson. Alderson's wife dies in childbirth, leaving him with an infant daughter, who he sends to Europe for an education. During the years in which she is abroad, Alderson becomes a wealthy cattle baron. The daughter, Karen, returns to Wyoming soon after it has been admitted to statehood. She finds that much of the land her father has considered as his own is now open to homesteaders, and that hostilities have broken out between the two factions. Alderson's foreman, Glenn Forrester, a former lawyer with whom Karen falls in love, warns Alderson against using violence in dealing with the homesteaders. Duke Lassiter, a smooth operator dealing in cattle rustling, sets himself up as a spokesman for the homesteaders and uses their fight with Alderson to further his own interests. When Lassister murders Windy, Alderson hires a gang of outlaws to war on the homesteaders.

"WYOMING's assets are vigorous action sequences--especially notable is a down and dirty fistfight between Elliott and Dekker; top calibre black and white photography by John Alton; fine villainy by Dekker.
While not as intriguing as the westerns Elliott would do later (in 1949 and 1950) at Republic Pictures, this is a solid "B" effort worthy of your time and attention."

In the beginning... "Wyoming was uninhabited..." then something about THE PEOPLE who lived there.
In the beginning people did not exist. Gabby Hayes and others came much later
In this picture what I see is people killing for cows and dirt in control of that hey funny thing about that people still do that especially for the dirt😢😢

i have seen 72 of bill elliott's 77 b pictures including this one. the 5 i have never found are In Early Arizona (1938), Lone Star Pioneers (1939), Frontiers of '49 (1939), The Law Comes to Texas (1939), Wildcat of Tucson (1940) in case you can find any of them. keep the b-westerns coming hopefully some i need.
Shame I can't contact you as I have all of those in my collection. Bill Elliott is a long-time favorite of mine.

To me it's about right and wrong and morals the guy that wears the white hat and the guy who wears the black hat
*At **7:00** when the woman asks about her baby, the old woman says 'she's a beautiful baby.' But in 100 of 100 cases the baby is always put into the mother's arms immediatey after birth. WHY did the producer/director not show this normal, natural thing to happen? It seems cruel esp. bec. the woman is about to die!*

Why did the settlers not keep fewer cows, just for milk?😢 The large herds are troublesome to my heart. Cows are peaceful gentle generous loving animals. They don't kill any creature for their food even. Their strength is useful to plow the earth, so that grains, fruit trees, vegetables, nut trees, and roots and vines like sweet potato can grow. The wild driving of the cows and bulls is savage and brute mentality, because we humans are not meant to eat dead flesh. Cows like to eat grass and not run because they are forced to run fast. They say protein protein protein, it makes me sick. If a cow and an elephant and other big animals eat plants and maintain healthy strong bodies, surely humans may do this. I feel upset also because cow's milk is not prohibited by nature ... She gives it freely, and it makes delicious things like yogurt, cream, butter, buttermilk, and cheese. Why do we kill mother? Dominion means we protect lesser creatures. A mother and father have dominion over their children , but that doesn't mean they murder them. 😢😢protect cows please everybody. Then there will be peaceful society of gentle humans .

this one was pretty corny and outright weird , whats with the bizarre "austrian" accents because the kid goes away for a few years ???? then this outright stupidity of the main character that he doesn't keep control of his herd and allows it to all be rustled ??????
