Not a bnad old western even if the hero, Billy, fights in a lake and gets completely soaked, only to ride into town completely dry, in a pressed outfit and with not a hair out of place. Wonderful.
Great looking movie but unfortunately the opening credits are missing. Really appreciate your posting superb prints of Westerns (from any era) but disappointed in missing opening & closing credits. Thanks!
That means I'll watch it. Childhood hero. The real James Brown. Texan. High level amateur tennis player back when amateurs were better than the pros. Also gave tennis lessons to Errol Flynn.
This is a pretty exact copy of the George Montgomery western from 1953, called "GUN BELT". Same characters, same names, same plot, almost word for word. When my wife and I watched this we looked at each other and said....WHAT!!!. Still good acting and why they copied it??? but they did it justice. Watch , "GUN BELT" you'll enjoy it.
@pedrojulio5889 You are correct. However, it's not as blatant a rip-off as it might seem. Gun Belt (1953) was produced (financed) by Edward Small; a prolific producer who made films for UA and Columbia. He made so many films that he had a habit of assigning some of his films to other producers, especially Robert Kent (the producer of Five Guns To Tombstone). So, Mr. Small was just repurposing his earlier film for a later audience - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Small
I've allways Loved Westerns. When my late father took me to see my 1st cowboy film, Rio Bravo John Wayne 1959. I was 7 years old.

Phoney as a $3 bill. If they are going to go thru all the trouble to film a movie they ought to start with a plot.
