  • This is a crazy fast production sawmill from Timber Buddy in Romulus NY. It's Norman Yoders new Timber Buddy XP-380 hydraulic sawmill. 120HP Diesel engine, 36" wide cut, 22 ft bed, it is fast and big and LOUD! The blades are 2" wide x .055 and have to be over 200" long... I managed to talk them into letting me video it and thought you all might like to see it too. Enjoy!

      I believe he had 5 guys working, one running the saw, one pulling the boards off it, 2 that were edging or stacking and one more grading the lumber.

    You got yourself a fine bandmill there. Running 2in 0.055, I suspect munksfor steel so it's meant for cutting. Love the overbuilt design. Got a TK2400 & MD 128 and until I build a hydraulic deck & log turner for my MD128, you got me beat. Best Regards.

    Sad you can't find any information on this mill or any website for the manufacturer or anywhere to look at one or to buy one.

      It's made in Romulus, NY by the brother of the guy who started timber buddy.

      also there is a phone number on the front of the mill if you want to contact them. It's an amish company making the mills so I don't know if they have a website.

      @@jeremywatson8567 is it the same mill with the remote work station and the belt off feeder?
      What did it cost?

    • @jeremywatson8567
      @jeremywatson8567 Год назад +1

      @@meehd01 it’s the same mill but without the remote off station. Has the belt. I had it extended to cut 24ft and got the Iveco diesel instead of the John Deere. It was like 73k

    Very nice mill. Lots of similarities to Cook's and Baker, but on steroids.

    This makes me want to order a couple hundred 10x10s and build a major timber frame project.

    120hp Diesel, that's a heavy engine . Should soften that jerk when the saw reverses

    Awesome machine but I must admit, I expected it to mill more in a day! The WM LT70 can do 1000bf/hr without a setup like that but good off-bearers ;) Heck, I've done 4000bf in one day on my LT40 :D With 26hp motor but I will admit, that is an awesome machine! I also like to see them milling the way I do! Woot! Cut slab, flitch, roll 90* cut slab, flitch, repeat.

      Yea there are bigger mills for sure, I'll try to get some on camera. There are 2 really big operations within 3 miles of me that I want to get on camera yet.

      That's 7000bf cut, edged, graded and stacked. It would do more but much depends on log diameter. You could work a man to death tailing behind it. There is no way in hell a LT70 will keep up with this mill. The LT70 is a good mill but will also cost you more. This is $70k delivered, all the hydraulics, extra hydro for log deck, set works and powered tail belt. Even though these are big diesels the use no DEF. We'll call it the Amish loophole, they use a rebuilt engine with an engine warranty that is as good or better than new. Depending on options you can get these closer to or at $60K. The design uses the best of the other mills made

      @The Old Jarhead, lets see some video of your 1000 BF per hr on your LT70. Tell me where I can see it. I say your blowing smoke rings Jarhead! We’ve been in the sawmill business since 1948, I’m 3rd generation at it. I own (1) Baker 3640 E, and (1) Baker 3650E. We run Baker stationary edgers with 50 hp motors on each like a gang edger. We’re cutting our logs up in 3 turns. We have a tailing belt behind the mill, a flip table to return edged lumber to a 6 strand chain tailing conveyor for stackers. I’d say I don’t know if one of my mills will keep up with what I’m watching. I’m so impressed I’m considering checking into buying one of these mills. Everything on this Timber Buddy is overbuilt, the head speed is smoking, head raise/lower speed is super fast, I’m super impressed with the log fences and log turner speed/strength. There is no way your LT70 can keep up with this mill. Tell me where I can see video of your blazing fast LT70?? I call BS!
      @Middlefield Custom Sawmill, you got a fine sawmill there. I don’t believe the other manufacturers can keep up with you.

      I agree ,I ordered this mill. I should get it in six weeks. I believe this will knock the doors off an LT 70.
