De video is tot stand gekomen in samenwerking met Ludmillafan en Arnaud Vereecken
Ondanks dat er een afscheidsrit is gehouden rijden de laatste drie exemplaren (1815,1817,1818) nog dagelijks hun diensten op het Luxemburgse net en dit zal naar alle waarschijnlijk nog zo blijven tot september of oktober van dit jaar en mogelijk nog langer...
A compilation of the CFL 1800 farewell tour that was held on June 23rd, 2012.
This video was made in collaboration with Ludmillafan and Arnaud Vereecken.
Although a farewell tour was held, the three remaining locomotives (1815,1817,1818) are still in active duty on the Luxembourgian tracks and will probably stay there until September/October this year or even longer...
I used to live in Luxembourg (Howald / Hesperange) between 1982 and 87. This was the unique "sound of Luxembourg" that you could hear all across the country. Oh yes, these beasts were LOUD!

Bedankt! Op deze manier geeft het een wat completer beeld van de rit. Het was overigens niet van te voren afgesproken maar omdat we allemaal op verschillende plaatsen hadden gefilmd leek het me wel een leuk idee om het op deze manier te doen.

Ja, ich denke auch das die noch fahren in 2014. Ich habe am letzten Samstag die 1818 mehrmals gefilmt/fotografiert zwischen Noertzange und Belval und am Montag die 1817 mit der Spritzug zwischen Hollerich und Bertrange :-) Der Film wird in den nächsten tagen folgen ;-) Nur schade das die 1815 noch nicht fahrt.

Danke! Ich habe Ihre Video von der Abfahrt in Michelau mehrmals geguckt oder angehört ist vielleicht besser ;-), die Klang ist so toll wenn die Ventilator dabei kommt!
Je moet niet alles geloven wat je in de film ziet ;-) De 1815 en 1818 zijn inderdaad niet door Märklin uitgebracht.
Voor deze video heb ik een foto van de 1812 gemaakt waarbij ik de nummers heb gewijzigd. Tevens heb ik de 1815 voorzien van het schild met Kautenbach. Ook de Wegmann-wagens zijn fake. Dit is de groene ABD van Märklin die ik voor de helft heb gespiegeld en waarbij ik de opschriften heb aangepast.
PS. De opnames zijn niet alleen van mij maar ook van Ludmillafan en Arnaud ;-)
Aktuell fahren sie noch, und glaub, 2014 werden die auch noch miterleben :-) Bin vor 4Tagen noch mit der 1818 gefahren :-)

+William ‘7822WelshSteam’ Roberts The weird sound you're probably referring to is caused by the cooling fans that give the locomotive their distinguish whining sound.
I assumed it was because they had a roots supercharger but your explanation makes sense.
+William ‘7822WelshSteam’ Roberts Your assumption of the Roots-blower is correct, they have one. The screaming sound is from the Roots blower and the whining sound is from the cooling fan. The cooling fan is not always activated only if the cooling water is hot. In this video, you can clearly hear the cooling fan switching on at 40 seconds: ruclips.net/video/JJHpA5WkYGQ/видео.html
