I absolutely love how this story boils down to reliving the good old days of 2001 over and over again for your own enjoyment. I also think that this plot twist lends itself to having a new game + mode
This reimagining of the 2001 storyline is absolutely amazing, very creative twist on the original. And, you can relive 2001 over and over like this, without ugly Nuva, generic bad guy Makuta, or prequels. I only wish they had that long conversation like in the end of MNOG, where the Makuta says it is the void and nothingness. I always found that profound and truly scary as a kid - not a big bad guy, but an amorphous, beingless entity that just consumes and destroys. I remember on the Toa mini CD the VO says, "No creature that speaks has seen the Makuta and returned". Just love the celebration of the Polynesia-inspired mysticism more than the stuff that unfurled later on.
The first bionicle game I played was the flash game back in 2001. The second bionicle game I played was a game my dad made ALSO in flash where I had to run away from makuta- back when he was a rock- in a maze by solving math problems.
Finally… The Shadow Toa, I thought we would not see a game or fan-game with them! I remembered them from the first “chronicles series” books, and I wonder if I gave them the idea posting to them???! So excellent!
