No wonder they were both consigned fine instruments that enable them to produce a sound up to their skill. This is a 400 year old Amati cello. Let's agree the instrument is in proper hands.
Waw. It's the first time I see an orchestra with a lot of musicians from multiple ethnicities. I hope to see more orchestras like that in the future. So great 👍
It was the main protagonist, cellist, special request. Very well done on him. They super beautifully nailed it entirely. What a pretty and pleasant harmony 💝✨💖
I think Sheku’s amazing and Chineke! Is a wonderful orchestra but I don’t think you should have an orchestra where you are only allowed to join if you are black. If someone started an all white orchestra there would be an absolute outcry.
@@lindamanas6735 please learn your history. Most orchestras was all white only for a very long. Black people weren’t even allowed to touch instruments. When we were able to, they were old leftovers. I was so fortunate to get a ticket to hear this incredibly talented musician playing Elgar at the Cheltenham Festivals last Friday, 5th July. I am not ashamed to say the Sheku`s playing of Elgar was not only very emotional for me But for the whole of the appreciative audience. It was out standing. @@ursulabean3179 Ok, I don't think they're the most musically talented in the world. There are a bunch of kids out there who practice for like 9 hours a day and they have world class professors as their parents. So, not the most musically talented by quite a bit, but wonderful family.
@@masteryoda5237 She might be right because the Kaneh-Mason are all classical musicians. Yes there are other talented kids but it's one or 2 siblings but with this family all the children play to a very high international standard and that's what makes them unique. Plus they enjoy it and love it. I have heard of one family which were the Von Trapps in Austria in the 1940s, however they were OK and they were doing it because they were forced to. The talent was good but not great and some of the children did not enjoy it. However these ones are great and enjoy and love what they do.
Music expresses wordless odyssey’s. I was unfamiliar with this piece except the composer is a renowned genius. His music is very and deeply satisfying. This one, for me, was like that pleasant realm when not quite asleep and the soul anticipates it’s escape from the burdens of the day or anticipates wandering through multi-dimensional dreams. Mr. Sheku’s swift looking Afro accentuates his intense outpouring of love through his cello. This is how it should be. All the members of the orchestra were very focused with the intent to make the music shine. What a wonderful evening this makes. Kudos also for the conductor. PWG
He's so sensitive into the music, I was missing to see and feel this, even in a video is possible to feel his energy, I think in real it must to be still more wonderful!
All the best to all the musicians who performed here, the conductor, and of course Sheku, the soloist. You all matter so much to me, it is hard to express my joy in seeing your success. A kiss in your hearts. God bless you and your families.
A great performance. A reminder of great performances by the likes of, Cellist Rostropovich , especially at Carnegie Music Hall in the seventies. Thank you goes to all and BBC. MAH24
Did anyone else spot his elder brother playing the violin ? Sheku is a wonderfully talented cellist- simply sublime ❤️👌

I think Jeneba might be the next soloist in the family
