I really got into it starting last spring and have seen some incredible species so far, all on the northen east coast from where i live in the hudson valley, up to the adirondacks and the coast of Maine. Highlights include 14 different warbler species, wood ducks, common loons and a red throated loon, sharp shinned and broad winged hawks, bald eagles, a bunch of ospreys, belted kingfishers, pileated woodpeckers, cedar waxwings, bluebirds, fly & gnatcatchers and my favorite was a flock of red crossbills that just happened to have a pair of two-bar crosbills intermingling with them. My all time highlight was years ago i got to see and photograph a pair of california condors in the grand canyon. Although by far my favorite species are those little brown tree creepers they're just so tiny and adorable
Thanks for all of the hard work, leading the hawk watches and making daily videos. That’s amazing and it 0:03 really helped me in identifying birds. My highlights for 2024 were at the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory high up on Hawk Hill above the SF Golden Gate Bridge. I gained a lot of respect for the amount of work and dedication it takes to make these programs so popular and important. I made it up there (4) times and even though I only saw a fractions of the raptors that the spotters reported, I was still able to get decent photos of a broad-winged hawk, Merlins, Dark-morph RTH, Sharpies, Coopers, Harriers, Kites.
A Snowy Owl that arrived in Buffalo in December ,,,, good days at Hamburg and Braddock Bay in 2024! What do you think of the President naming the bald eagle as the national bird in the USA ?
Thanks David!
Awesome. Thank you !
Happy Holidays! 👍

I think the Bald Eagle is the most obvious choice for national bird!
