Right up my street!!! A great and inspiring introduction Andy. I appreciate your time, wisdom, passion and un-selfishness to share what you do best in the remarkable field of wildlife photography...Thank you.
I am excited to have found your channel at its beginnings! I have only recently begun to study and practice photography, and I am looking forward to following and learning from you and the channel. Wishing you the best!
Awesome images Andy and congratulations for the Front Cover of National Geographic. I am Scottish and we have mountain hares in the Highlands but I've never managed to get a decent shot of one.
Thank you for your willingness to share. If you're open to the topic, I would enjoy seeing some of the failed images from a shoot. All too often we only see the best one from hundreds. I think I could learn more and faster by seeing some of the lesser images, and a discussion of what makes them inferior to the best of the keepers.
I'm currently in Brazil, and since starting my channel, I'm looking at the images that I produce completely differently. I was in the process of deleting some fails just a day ago, and I suddenly realised how useful seeing them would be. In short, 100%, I will definitely be doing what you suggested. A guesstimate would be that 90-95% of what I shoot is fails!
Really looking forward to seeing how your channel develops. It's also so great to see another ethical wildlife photographer, so many people say 'hide photography isn't real wildlife photography'.. Crazy thought process. So often there are many questionable techniques I have seen, on youtube and in the field, they want the shot without thinking about the most important thing - animal welfare... I went to Isle of Mull in June and the amount of photographers I saw sitting on the edge of the water waiting for the otter, then overhearing how disapointed they were no otters showed up - surprise surprise! I've been doing photography since 06, but I am still mediocre. But lucky to be in the animal/conservation industry - so lots of opportunities to get good. I am really looking forward to the advanced tutorials. Your photography is insane. One day achieve a cover of the Nat Geo, and win a competition once or twice.
@Boiga. I definitely share your concerns about unethical or inexperienced practices. To us they are just images of wildlife, to the animation could mean life or death. I carry that awareness with me every single day! Thank you for your support!

Beautiful images, Andy. Thank you for sharing. Shooting for yourself is a key piece of advice. It is so important that you have a driving passion to photograph subjects that resonate within you. Nature provides opportunities to those that are knowledgeable & deligent in pursing their craft. Patience & luck will also play their part. At the end of the day, if you are content & pleased with the images that you have produced, I believe that you have achieved success. Best wishes for your channel.😊

Heat diffraction can mitigated by a change of angle but that is not always possible in a NP in Africa. Best of luck for your channel.
