In this case I reprogram an engine ECU on a 2005 Scenic, but this procedure applies to most Renaults and ECUs.

This update installs an updated version of the ECU software, it can be released for example, if renault found a glitch in the previous versions, or to make slightly changes as the engine gets older etc...

I have made a complete repair of all its internal components and I want to know if I should perform a reprogramming of the ECU or just with a scan I can modify the date of the oil aging counter? Hi, I wish to take out my JR5 5speed gearbox and install a TL4 6speed. All connections and mounts are the same. Do I need to change JR5 to TL4 in the "Gearbox Type" can this be changed? Do I need to change it, or it will work as it is?
Hello friend, thanks for the description. I'm trying to update the power steering as well. But clip writes after I have selected the power steering that no connection can be established. Second battery connected, radio on or ignition on or off, or engine on, I tested everything with the same result. Maybe you know what I could do to make it work

Hi, I just visited. So I took off and put back a semi-automatic gearbox Renault megane 3 1.5tdci, since then it doesn't see the park speed, have you done such programming with the can clip software.
hello I have 2005 megane hb 1.6 16v and my steering rack has been changed. than steering check comes on the screen while driving. we connected can clip it says angle sensor fault. probably we need to calibrate steering angle sensor how can we do this thank you.

What voltage do you need at the car battery to program a key card with can clip?
I tried this morning with my 2005 megane, and the procedure stopped and gave me the low voltage warning. I had a charger on the battery and voltage was 13 volts at the battery! I thought that would be enough? .
That was interesting what you said about the can clip unit itself needing a power supply? I didn't know this, i just had the clip connected to the dlc and the usb to the laptop.

Hi Guys, just wondering is it possible to reset the windows and radio cut off time on the Renault captur 2019 iconic as there is no key to turn to the second position that would get you windows and radio to?.

Portanto, o carro é um Clio sport de 2000, mas a electrónica (ecu, uch e chaves) já não são as de origem (comprei em segunda mão no eBay). Achas que há algum motivo para não conseguir fazer leituras? Posso-te dizer que ele não detecta o VIN automaticamente..!
Já agora, troquei tudo isto porque tinha um problema com o computador de bordo do carro (as leituras dos consumos estavam malucas lol). Obrigado !

is it possible to updatr the cluster ecu? Mine keeps dropping the mileage trip counter every 200-300 miles. Its very annoying and renault wont do nothing as they say they cant see it happening so nothing wrong.

Depends if Renault have actually released an update for it... Renault should be able to tell you if there is... and it will show when you connect the tool to program...

since I had lost my cards from the car I had to get some from other vehicles, when I did that I found one from the car again, but the card no longer works in the car so I had to get transponders.
According to the clip, the transponders PCF7936 from Aliexpress all run at 315 MHz, so I got another one and added the card with RenoLink/ DDT4ALL to the car and lo and behold the steering wheel lock can be opened and the immobilizer also opens, I don't know if it starts, I have it didn't really try either.
On the one hand, the control unit (injection control unit) cannot be read out via clip and, on the other hand, there is now a strange message on the display.
No PROG on the display. What should I do ?
But my ZV, Keyless Go still doesn't work via the card, the switch on the roof liner works without any problems.
According to the clip, the front disc antenna doesn't work either.
According to the clip, both cards go to 433 MHz.
But since I only had one transponder and it wasn't pre-programmed, I'm looking for a dealer who sells good PCF7936AS transponders, possibly also some that are already pre-programmed
DDT4ALL also read the card and immediately marked it as 433MHz.
And the card that releases my steering wheel lock, WFS, never belonged to my vehicle.
There is only one card left from my vehicle, and I accidentally discarded one card and passed it through the household waste.
Now, as I said, I'm looking for good transponders.

Ps. If you want to teach your Renault with RenOLink cards, you have to be careful that the ignition is completely off and the WFS only flashes normally and not quickly, the WFS flashes quickly, you don't get a card taught, what you get is this error message.

I would just buy a couple of cards pre-programmed for remote functions an program them... Nice a simple...

Hello, I have a new EGR valve mounted on the Megan II 1.9DCi and I need to execute SC036 via Clip v190. The instructions from the Dialogys - Component Replacement (see quote below) say that it is necessary to run the SC036 - reinitialize programming command. Can you advise me in which section of the program can I find it? In CLIP I can only see in Injection/Repairs/Programming - commands SC001, SC002, SC003. Is this command still present in CLIP v190? Thank you for your advice.

I never done it on that engine, but done it on a 1.5 scenic...
And at the time, I had to reflash the ecu in order to finish the egr installation...
Done ages ago, and can't really remember all the details... hope this helps somehow...

Depending on the ecu, you might be able to immo off... if that is not what you want, you need to virginize it and reprogram it to the car, or clone the ecu if the old one still readable...
Other wise, move the eeprom if is that that ecu stors the immo data on an external eeprom...

Hi . I have a 2006 megane with sid 301 injection(1.5 dci 106hp). same as yours in this video clip. I have a injection problem with it. The maximum intake air it admits on maximum throttle is 1500 mbar. The turbo delivers 2900 mbar on maximum throttle. It prevents the intake air flap from letting that amount by intermittently closing the flap. Looking on the gas pedal potentiometer it register normal 0-100% depending how much its pressed . However looking on the track 1 and 2 of the accelerator potentiometer there are anomalies in my view. track 1 registers 80 % on maximum gas pedal, track 2 only 40% on maximum gas pedal. On idle gas pedal The voltage on track 1 is 0.66v and on track 2 of the accelerator potentiometer is 0.33v. Do I need reprogramming of the ecu or to replace it? Or is there other problem I need to look into. Looking closely on the gas pedal potentiometers inside the gas pedal It does not seems anything damage or corroded in there except normal wear of the tracks which looks similar on both potentiometer tracks. Any help would be welcomed including showing me what values your clip registers.

This was not my car, so I can really check it...
But, the voltages are going to be different on both tracks, as the %... the ecu calculates both, and uses that as the position of the pedal... so, if you are getting at steady reading from 0 to 100% on the pedal position, I would say that is just fine... specially if you are getting no faults for the pedal... you might have something else wrong....

Also carried out investigation in Renault dealer found present fault for button pressed in system. Even l have bought another radio but the same fault problem appears.
Hello, I put in an another used dashboard in my espace I want to change the vin code for the radio( put in an used radio from a different car.than the dash. Radio is blocked because the vin from radio and dashboard are not the same. so the dashboard has to have another vin. If I go in repair mode with the clip en go to the other configuration menu it says "already configured" Do I need to reprogram the dash and can I put in the vin from the radio?

Most likely yes... you need to reprogram it... which will then automatically insert the vin from the uch, or will ask you to do it manually...

My car has a non bluetooth radio 28115 0030R with carminat tomtom display (non-live) and i would like to change for a radiosat bluetooth 28115 9389R that came from a junk yard beated car. The beated car has a diferent type of display. I know that it should be required to change the VIN number of the beated car radio config for my VIN, and probably also change the display type that it is connected to. No... clip will not be able to write the vin, unless the unit is blank/New.
But, clip should connect to it regardless of the vin in there... it sounds like you either go a bad module, or you have a different problem somewhere....

Hi, i have Laguna III 2008. Since I bought it I was not able to activate my DRLs. Not even in Renault service. I am told that the config file that is pulled from .net is pushed directly into ecu and Renault service has no access to modify it. Any clue on how to deal with this?

No, it can't... until you virginize the ecu or copy the data from the original ECU...
Clip can only program new or virginized (which is the same as new, on the programming side...), ECUs...

If you virginized the ecu, would it accept a different code, say from a replaced electric steering unit from another scenic. I've been quoted £300 for a reconditioned unit (virginized), then there's the labor to change it

Another thing is, reprog will only allow you to go ahead if a newer version of software is available... as will no allow you to flash the same version...

@@LMAutoRepairs my issue is airbag light on my renault captur. Says short to pos or open circuit for right front crash sensor. A quick google found same fault in a forum but the guy never returned to say what fixed it. He did say changing the front crash sensor did nothing. Unplugging from airbag module and doing same at crash sensor then load testing wires one thing. Failing that my monies on the module itself. Thought well is it time to buy the Autel Ultra or should I get the clip. Uktra yeah because at work its needed. My im608 pro is awesome and better on diagnosis than my ms906. Looking at ultra thats got loads more than the im608

Hi, recently I have reset the configuration of an GPS/RadNav ECU trying to activate Android Auto on a Renault Fluence R-Link 1 system. Now the nav shows "Unconfigured Device, please add EOL settings" and it does not load the radio nor the maps. Can the Can Clip reprogram the NAV/Radio ECU and solve this?

The BCM will stand for Body Control Module... the ECU for Engine Control Module.
You can fit a second hand, but most likely will have to be virginized first...

hi i wonder if you could please give some quick advice having a strange problem with my 2008 renault clio when i switch dip beam on both headlights come ok but as soon as i turn the steering wheel just a touch to the left high beam on left will come on and same thing happens when turning right the r.h.s high beam will come on returning steering wheel to the straight ahead dip beam works as normal i cant understand why this is happening any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks .

if i put the ignition and dip beam on and turn the steering wheel its ok but when the engine is started and i turn the steering just a touch it plays up all the time . no codes or other faults live data shows nothing obvious looking like a uch issue but not 100% confident . thank you for your reply .

The programming/flashing always involves some risks.... so, if you want something safer, forget that...
The injector programming is safer...
Clip does have a menu to program the Injectors... quite simple... providing your car needs that... some ECUs do not require injectors to be programmed...

Hi. I have a Modus 2005 with a steering fault in display. I have read its a commen fault in 2004-2008 models. Also very expensive. We have tried to replace the computerbox with an used one. But the start control kicked in because of the codes in the computerbox. My mechanic tried to recode the keys. It was not possible. I have seen you recoded the computerbox in a Megane. Is it the same procedure in a Modus and can we do that with Can Clip? Sorry for my englich. Great videos you make.

I also have the problem that my Can Clip V146 clone shop article number: SP19-B disconnects shortly at irregular intervals, with the coresponding program message. After clicking ok the connection is back to normal.
Is this now due to the device itself or on the software version V146, which was together with the Can Clip clone?

I have had the exactly same problem with one of my clip clones couple year back... ( this one if the 3rd unit...)
At the time I have open the unit and reflow the boards... it cure the problem, but only for a few months... so can't really help you... you can try the above but can't guarantee that will work...

Just in case someone may read this and is asking the same question, yes it can, but only after you have modified the "used ECU" in a special way, or alternatively use a new ECU from the dealer which you will not have to modify.
