I finished Since November last night. It had me hooked from the very start. So glad you decided to try out writing for the game jam Keith! Can't wait to play the update to see the rest of the art!
Funny, this is the first episode since October, but it says since November, how curious.
Congrats on the VN! It's very interesting to see that happening, especially after all the VNs you've played/analyzed on the channel (it feels like a natural next step for you). It's fun trying to guess where the ideas/inspirations came from (I think Echo inspired using objective correlatives - I remember going down a writing rabbit hole during your discussion of "show, not tell" in part 50 of the Echo playthrough -, which you implemented using the intercom music/lyrics), so I'm looking forward to a more in-depth look behind the scenes (I'm assuming you'll play the game on the channel). The only thing I struggled a bit with was connecting the names to the characters (the text pointed out their species a few times, but I felt that's somthing I needed to keep track of), which I guess is a consequence of not having sprites (but as you pointed out, those would have been more complex to develop, so I get it).
I'm in the jam too, and that was something! I kinda remembered some mangaka work flow to setup in my project, that was alright. But I found it hard to not burnout and find entertaining stories to tell in such short time.
Anyway, I'm gonna do a pause for now and then read the games haha
Congrats on over 1000 downloads Keith. Cool to hear the final build is coming January.
While do come for some of the presented topics of this podcast, hearing Andrew's tangents is always a concern and a gem.
I literally thought when the dude was grabbed and hoisted in the air in the parking lot that there was an AVGN thing Going on where he was grabbed and lifted by the Balls.
Had a good laugh and over all had a good time with the game. Congrats
Just wanted to say congrats on getting a game made! That's a hell of a gauntlet to conquer
It's really good and a quick read. Congrats to you and everyone else involved.
24:55 yep, gotta factor the return trip time too. If you have to travel 35 mins to get something, it's best case, 35 mins returning. So whatever you planned for the day is delayed over an hour. And doing that frequently can be discouraging for some.
We'll get through this together.
You visualed the novel
and it's great! highly reccomend
Oh look it's Marrow, The harrowing writer.
(You know what you did). Quality VN
Lot to chew in the VN. Obviously grappling with Heavy Topics. Probably one of the more interesting VNs from the game jam. Any chance this was Juni Ito inspired?
The art looks soo good
Congrats to the team for the release!! It's fantastic how it became an accidental team effort. I hope to see more games you've worked on in the future.
The jam having provided art is so damn neat, I love the community. One day I will finally decide on a sona.
Nice to hear Colonel is playing DeS. I play DeS on my ""super PS3"". I personally prefer the PS3 version and well...I can't justify a PS5. But it's worth playing no matter the platform. And yeah I always pointed out to my friends too that Sony didn't want Demon's Souls, to summarize that whole ordeal, and now they made it one of the 2.5 selling points for the console.
Congrats on the VN, Keith, I'll check it out!
Also I feel like Andrew just invented Walmart. Those along with the Internet have replaced the mall
Oooh! ...I should probably wait for the polished 1.0, but it's tempting to read early...
read it now, the existing art is good!
Yaaaay Dialog Choices
Glad we got a video with some TWST gals. The few the game has are great or at least have character. Thanks for the vid!

Where is the the Game inside a visual novel unless it has extensive dialog choices?
its a game in the sense that you play it. you interact with it through the computer
@yuvalsela4482 is a book a game? I have to interact with it to turn the pages.
@@Utbaut is a board game a game
a choose your own adventure books is *absolutely* a game
idle games
can't you just impeach trump on day one or something?
In the USA as it stands, parties typically defend their candidates from any disciplinary proceeding until their candidate calls them off no matter what they're guilty of or how obvious it is (this party moreso than the other one, but both do it to some extent). His party has by far more than enough power to block any disciplinary action taken against him, and to retaliate against anybody (in either party) who attempts such. In addition, they've planned a series of purges of government employees who may not fall in lockstep with their attempts to reward 'insiders' and punish 'outsiders', which compounds on the way his party has stripped itself of those willing to compromise with the 'other side' or punish corruption within their party.
This is in addition to the judicial system officially deciding that all Federal investigations of a person are cancelled when they get elected as President (and have to be restarted 'manually' after they're no longer in power), which they've already done in this case.
