    I used to use expensive skincare from Sunday Riley, Drunk Elephant, Allies of Skin etc. These days I use mostly K-beauty, Cerave, some Geek & Gorgeous and my skin has never felt or looked better. I don't think there's anything over $33 in my routine. Focusing on hydration and sun protection makes a huge difference.

    My problem with ridiculously expensive skincare is the burden of repurchasing it, I end up using it very sparingly getting nearly to no results 😓, I just don't find really encouraging to commit and the worst part is getting in love with the overpriced product and talking yourself into buying it over and over again leading to more guilty conscience and going down the rabbit hole of finding a great dupe😭

    I bought the Feipushi Microcurrent Device for 30€ which is the dupe for the NuFace Mini... I bought it thinking it was a toy and it was useless BUT it's not, it's really really good and it works... I use it every night and I've noticed good results! Lately Feipushi has also released a radio-frequency device that I want to try...

    When a freaking serum costs like half of an in office procedure, something is very wrong. My most ridiculously expensive stuff comes from Dermalogica and Medik8. $60-$90 or so per product. Dermalogica stuff (long time guilty perfumed pleasure) tend to last for months and months though.

    I am guilty of buying some expensive skincare for some issues my skin has. SKII pitera is one thing that really has changed my skin. I will probably use this forever if I can. Drunk elephant tlc and protini moisturizer are two others I love! Skinceuticals active serum is wonderful for my skin when it's freaking out. I focus more on ingredients than names and packaging, which I think we are paying for most of the time with these high-end products. If it works, I'll spend the money. My other products consist of Paula's choice, glow recipe, tower 28, herbivore, peter thomas roth, Dr. Dennis Gross, and peach and lily.

I got the Drmtology peptide night cream during the sale and wasn’t impressed. Good ingredients but not thick enough for a night cream. Keep the great videos coming. I'm not hooked on expensive skincare. I also buy when there are discounts and not when there aren't discounts. My current favorite lines are Timeless, DRMTLGY, Paula's Choice and Curology. I don't think Curology is ever discounted, but it's tretinoin formula changed my skin for the better like no other product, so I feel like it's save me lots of money.

    Hi Sarah I have a Foreo - the white ultrasensitive one with no nubs (the second incarnation I think before the one you use with an app) and I've had it for at least two years. It was half the regular price in TKMaxx when they discontinued it and cost £70. I've charged it three to four times in those two years plus, but admittedly I only use it two or three times a month in the Winter and twice a week in the Summer (when I want a deeper clean). It's still going strong and I'm happy to have it, but when it does eventually die I'll just get a cheaper alternative that is similar. For me it not having the nubs makes a difference on my rosacea and eczema prone skin, as I get the sonic cleansing without the friction.
    As to the rest I'm not someone with the budget for fancy devices or stupidly expensive products. If I was going to buy anything I would probably get a red light lamp or mask, but skincare I have a budget and stick to it. Nothing I buy costs more than £35 and that's an ouch purchase tbh. I'll only pay that for spf and grudgingly at that. Even the Niod MG is £25 and that's the most expensive serum I use. Spf and I are a very hit and miss partnership and most of them are so so irritating on my rosacea. A lot of the mineral ones are also a nightmare, whereas the chemical filters are a complete no go during a flare. I do wear it every day I leave the house, but struggle to find spf's I can use on a daily basis without irritation or extreme dryness/tightness - hence the higher price tag. It's an ongoing issue. In fact perhaps a video on spf suitable for the most sensitive skin would be helpful with picks available to the international market? At the moment the PC calm mineral spf30 normal/dry and the skinceuticals mineral spf50 lotion are the two favourites and both full price cost £30 plus. Best wishes.

    DE Babyfacial is my guilty pleasure. I wish I could find a dupe for it but no luck so far. A couple other things that were nice (PC peel & Farmacy Honeymoon Glow) & had I tried them first, probably would’ve been perfectly happy but they just aren’t as good. Same with the Protini. I’ve tried a couple of the dupes you recommended but they just weren’t the same. But, I do try to only purchase these while on sale or with points so I’m not paying full price (I recently used some Ulta points and got the Protini for $12). Those are my only expensive “luxury” products. I recently discovered the Peach & Lily lactic acid serum and unsure what to do when I run out. I got it on sale and I really love it but not sure I want to pay $49 to repurchase 😕

    • @oceanbird.
      @oceanbird. 2 года назад +1

      @@heredianna2496 the exfoliation is very gentle with the foreo. It does exfoliate a tiny bit, like using a konjac sponge or something similar. I mostly find it helps keep pores clear for me by helping me get a better, deeper clean than just washing my face with my fingers. I especially like to use it in the summer to reduce sebaceous filaments/blackheads from building up on my nose in the hot and sweaty weather!

    So I looked into the Nebulyft, and the Newa, and thought, naaah, too much. Then out of curiosity I searched for an RF device on Stylevana. Lo and behold, I find the "Jujy", for just over $100. Tried researching it, nothing to be found in English, no subs on the few YT videos. Naturally I bought it. 🤪 I have it now, have serious doubts as to the effectiveness, but I just HAD to try. Used it for 1 week so far and the one thing I can attest to: it needs to be charged after every 3 or 4 uses. I think I got what I paid for. Since it's still cold weather, at least it's a nice jowl warmer.
