  • In the latest installment of “A Sea of Hope,” our co-founders share how the humpback whale’s remarkable story of recovery inspired us to choose them as the champion personifying our pursuit of change. Our ocean’s giants swim on and continue to strengthen in numbers - acting as a testament to what ocean protections can achieve for creatures beneath the waves. The humpback’s successful rebound inspires our continuous efforts and embodies the spirit of our intended action.
Dive in with our co-founders, Andy Mann, Cristina Mittermeier, and Paul Nicklen, as they capture stories of the enamoring humpback whale from across the globe. Along their journey, the team outlines the origins of the SeaLegacy1’s orange sails and our mascot. Learn more about the humpback’s resilience through their comeback from near extinction and witness the ongoing struggles they face.
Thank you to all who supported our efforts on November 28th’s Giving Tuesday! With the contributions of our Tide members and donors, we are forging forward into more ocean action! Help us continue to sail toward a healthier future for our ocean by signing up for the Tide: bit.ly/SeaLegac....
    Special Thanks to:

I cried with Mitty at the beginning, seeing that beautiful whale in her distress. Thank you for what you do for our seas and the creatures that call them home.❤❤❤

I love the humpback whales most. Someone knows I call them sea puppies from watching them interact with people who go on whale watching trips, when they come up to the boats begging to be petted and scratched.. I love Paul and mitty's photos and his videos. I used to watch whales migrating when I lived in Pacifica, CA but at the time didn't know what species they were. It was amazing as they rested right by the pier that went quite far out from land. I'd watch for hours with my then 2 yr old son. I miss that. But I'll soon see them and others in Hawaiian waters and I'm tickled pink over that. I get to support their protection.. Under different circumstances than I anticipated but support none the less.. Sail on SeaLegacy..

I love whales of all species, but unfortunately I've never seen one in person☹️
It's great to have you incredible photographers to show us these wonderful beings. Thanks!

One swat from that whales tail and it will shatter your bones and rupture your internal organs. It’s is very sad that there was no way to get in the water and help that creature. 😢

What is required to release an entangled whale? Is it near impossible?
