  • Ever wanted to stream from retro consoles?
Play your older games from the original hardware and perhaps record directly from them? It's possible with a cheap adapter in under 5 minutes!
    BUY ADAPTER:
    UK - amzn.to/3K2Ny07
    US - www.amazon.com/Converter-ABLE...
In today's video I'll show you:
    - How to stream from retro consoles / original hardware, what adapter to buy and how to hook it all up!
Please note that this method won't upscale your original footage; so it'll likely be bit blurry - there are upscalers out there like Retrotink, but these are a more premium product

I've been wanting to try streaming for a long time but prefer older consoles and games, so this is really helpful, especially as a broke college student who has no clue how some of this works yet. Thank you! 😁

Awesome! No worries at all :) Bare in mind the visuals won't be super sharp (vs things like emulators or virtual console on the Switch) but works well for original hardware on a budget :) Good luck!

Do you have any videos or tips on using capture cards to stream? I'm new to all this and I really want to stream my older games but I want to make sure I'm doing it right! Any capture card in general you recommend?

Hey! No worries :) Here's a playlist of streaming tips and tricks:
      ruclips.net/p/PLjmTwGPPoh-HHHKHbhvgDHcEE6D9QMg83
Capture card comparison (expensive vs cheap):
      ruclips.net/video/pk3qll57Z4o/видео.html
Setting up and streaming Switch (though applies to any console really - via HDMI):
      ruclips.net/video/iPMERkQEmlU/видео.html
Hope that helps! Do note that streaming older consoles (Wii, GC and older) via capture cards will look fuzzy/slightly blurry because they're not being upscaled
If you want that true sharp pixel experience then you have a few options:
      - Emulation
      - Streaming older games via upscaled collections (e.g. the retro game apps on Switch, compilation games like those SEGA collections etc)
      - Streaming older games via those mini consoles as they're emulated/upscaled
      - Using an upscaler - it takes older game footage from original hardware and upscales it to crisp HD (honestly, it's super cool, but super expensive): www.retrotink.com/product-page/5x-pro

Does the capture card have an HDMI output to hook up to the TV? How does one see the screen when it is into the capture card?

    • @TeeChu
      @TeeChu  6 месяцев назад +1

Hey! Cheaper capture cards typically don't have an HDMI output so by default you would be watching the gameplay through OBS
To avoid that and possible input lag, I would recommend an HDMI splitter to output to a second screen or TV whilst recording or streaming: ruclips.net/video/DpQt7TJ8Edw/видео.html
More expensive cards like the Elgato etc have an HDMI output so no splitter needed
      Hope that helps!

@@TeeChuwhat about using an RCA splitter?
would that achieve the same goal?
