A true jewel in the ocean of stones that youtube is... Thank you Captain for giving the "non-pilots / but aviation fans" the oportunity to see your experiences.
I just watched a bunch of his videos and I love to see this view....but why the dislikes? whats to dislike about this? He goes all over the world and gives a great perspective. Thanks for sharing!
This reminds me so much of flying the PMDG 747...I really love the angle you give, makes everyone feel like they are right there in left seat! Superb approach and landing.
Wooow ! The best cockpitvid I´ve ever seen ! It is so awesome because you can feel like a pilot. That is what I call pilot´s view ! Thank you sooo much for doing this !!!!
SuredT, dude, I - like thousands of others, obviously - have been following you since your first video landing at St Maartens, and your continuing posting of awesome videos and interaction with randoms on the internet is so awesome. Cheers.
that's an amaaazing landing in a 15 knot head wind. You can see very little flaring done beginning at 30 feet and the VVI gradually gets to 0 when the touchdown. Greaser!
Not a pilot, but I love airplanes. Fascinating to watch the instrument panel on landings and takeoffs. Gosh, how I envy you guys that do this! THANKS Suredt for posting these videos.
It must be very rewarding for you and your flightcrew for bringing yourself and your passengers all the way to Bangkok. I can't think of any job out there that is more exciting.
Fantastic video - the night effect is just so beautiful, the angle is just so amazing and you landed her so skillfully - one of the best cockpit videos i've seen.
Nice to see the night landing view from the cockpit. Excellent video. Thanks for posting it. Seeing it makes me ready to book my next flight to Thailand. I'm always impressed when flying into Bangkok's Camp Swampy Intl Airport at night..
I must say I always enjoy your videos, SuredT. It's also great that you work for one of my most favorite airlines as well. :) I do like the change in format for this video as it shows more of the cockpit & allows us to see how flight operations are handled aboard the 747 especially during approach/landing procedures. The other format is also great for the vistas outside the aircraft. Hopefully you'll be able to equally do more of both in the future. Thank you for posting this! :)
I'm planning to start the process of getting my pilots license. This is one of many motivations I get to do what I always dreamed of. I work at Pearson airport in Toronto and I see everything. For those guys who said you flew a 737 in previous videos, must feel dumb now. Unless they still can't know the difference between 747 and a 737. I applaud you and your co-pilot
If you can, please make more videos. I am a suscriber and just love to watch. I am a private pilot studying for my commercial, and eventually ATP licence. Your videos are not only fun to watch but a great learning tool also. Thank you very much!
SuredT!, i've been waiting for a new video of yours forever man!, thanks for uploading.. i really enjoy watching your landings and take offs.. work work keeping the camera steady.. cheers!
Great video! I always love watching your videos when they come out. Just an fyi, but I like the camera the other way when you can look out the front window and see the nose of the plane. Keep those videos coming!
@DHMaNiAc770. No, when you are on an intercept heading of about 45 degrees to the LOC you can select APP. When you are approaching the LOC, the FD will capture the LOC. When you fly manually you follow the FD. When the A/P is on, the A/P will follow the FD.
When I was flying from San Jose, California to Huntsville, Alabama,I had to change planes in Houston, Texas. I was on a small Continental commuter jet and A KLM 747, was on its take off roll while we were number 2 for the runway. I must say, it was an awesome sight being so close to that 747 while on its take off roll and its roar of the engines.
@Rafal102able. 1: It is Airline policy. 2: With autobrakes you select a certain deceleration level. The more engine reverse you use the less brakes you use and visa versa. 3: Nowadays you cannot occupy the runway too long, so you must leave the runway as soon as practicable in order to let the next plane land. That's why we use autobrakes.
Great Video. I can't wait to fly the 747 in the Lufthansa Training Sim. I love this plane so much. LoL@ the landing checklist. " Speedbreak? armed! , landing gear? ..... aeehhhh down!......" :-D I wish you always 3 green and happy landings!
OKAY! This shows that pmdg did a REALLY GOOD JOB! I am aware that this is real, but, on the flight sim, a pmdg 747 could literally be used to copy this approach. WOW! GREAT FLYING GUY!
mate I was scared of flying and I am stilla little nervy but these videos certainly make me feel more at ease now I have some understanding as to how it all works subscribed thanks alot
7:30 masterlijk:P "en dan delta 6, en dat zal ik je effe uitleggen, das hier pas..." "- ja wacht even, ik ben... met de bocht bezig" translate: "Then delta 6, i'll explain, thats here..." "-yes hold on, im doing... the corner" Awesome video, love watching these
@Writahman. The quickly rising purple square at the right side is set at the altitude where we are cleared to. When we have GS capture it is set at the altitude where we are supposed to climb to in case of a Go-Around. So we don't watch that one during the approach.
thanks for sharing! Good quality of the vid! nice that your camera can manage the contrast between the dashboad light and the outside illumination!! both thumbs up ;)
@ToInfinity1 Good question. Probably because one of the waypoints in front of the runway has a lower altitude constraint than the glideslope altitude at that point.
amazing video !!! this is really something for all simmers that want to be inside real cockpit :o) real instruments with real scenery , keep posting ! i cannot wait new videos ;o))
@Appleshaz. As soon as ATC disrupt the VNAV PATH mode by ordering a intermediate level-off, you can not use VNAV PATH anymore because the path will be below you. Then you can use FL CHG because you want to descent with idle power to intercept the path. You can do this by increasing the speed in the speed window. This is an easier method than flying with VNAV SPD.
@gilzia1. I disconnect the AT also. The reason is: If you raise the nose because you are a bit low on GS, the AT will apply power to keep the speed. But then the nose will rise even more because the engines are under the wing and more power means more nose up. So you have to fight trim changes. If you fly manually also with throttles, the human brain acts automatically when you raise the nose of the plane: you pull on the yoke->you add power and react automatically on the trim change.
Thanks, I love your videos. I'm in medical school but I also wanted to be a commercial pilot at some time in my life. Unfortunately I don't have 20/20 vision in one of my eyes.
@Rafal102able For each Rwy there is a weight limitation table depending on OAT. For instance a table for Rwy 24 at Schiphol: at 0 degrees the aircraft may weigh 411.000 kgs. At 65 degrees it may weigh 315.000 kgs. When actual weight is for instance 350.000 kgs the assumed temp is 50 degrees according the weight limitation table. One has to compensate for head / tailwinds and pressure of course.
@voldemort2123. Very good!! There is also CAT lllA with 50 ft Decision Height and 200m horizontal visibility and CAT lllB with 20 ft Decision Height with 75 m visibility and CAT lllB with NO Decision Height but still you need the 75 m visibility, which means the pilot will see the runway when the wheels touch down on the runway.
Yes, I was also wondering why they "flew through" the localizer, then turned back. No big deal, just like other commenters, was curious why they did that. Loved the video.
SuredT, you have the greatest aviation videos on RUclips. Can't wait for you next one. Thanks!
je bent geweldig man. Bedankt voor het uploaden van dit soort videos.
Another great cockpit video SuredT, keep them coming!
awesome video as usual, great to have you back.
hoping more of these videos soon, at first sight you´re a great pilot.

shhhhpeed break up! - love the accent and the movies!!
I've watched many videos like this but never with a view of the cockpit. Excellent idea.
Fantastic video - the night effect is just so beautiful, the angle is just so amazing and you landed her so skillfully - one of the best cockpit videos i've seen.
Great aircraft, a beautiful night, an expert crew, and the best large city on the planet to be landing in!
Thats one of the best night landing videos i've seen.. well done.
Nice to see the night landing view from the cockpit. Excellent video. Thanks for posting it. Seeing it makes me ready to book my next flight to Thailand. I'm always impressed when flying into Bangkok's Camp Swampy Intl Airport at night..

I like this video because of the balanced inside/outside view. Very nice.
Thanks for answering another question, piloting looks super exciting.
That manouver of B747 is beautiful. Like an art...
Absolutely stunning video!!!! As an avionics tech it is always amazing to see everything working together for a smooth approach and landing!!!
I love this perspective of view, and Boeing 747-400. Thanks for sharing a wonderful video. ~
