I saw this tour, Hollywood Bowl. It was a strange moment, they sounded better than they ever had that night, but you could tell they were on the verge of everything going south. They really had gotten to being "GREAT" live, and that was when it all fell apart. I just saw them again At the Hollywood Bowl a few months ago. So much had changed, I can't believe I can say "29 years later, Same Venue". New Order has been a part of my life since I was 13, this song, just as long. It is one of my fave songs of all time, and I still have not figured out what it's about. Something about an impasse with friendships.
@@matthewelson8022 The Brotherhood album had a lot of lyrics about friendships, and ones that were tanking. Giving up on ones falling apart, letting people take responisibility for their own decisions etc. This one was about the impasse, as far as I can understand. Looking back on where it might have gone wrong, and not seeing any particular reason for it, just knowing it was going bad, and probably time had worn them both down. Imagining the good days of the friendship "In those days when the sun was warm, I ran in the streets where I was born". Looking back clearly on the childhood aspects of it, and it being safe, and almost carefree. Now, "The streets are so empty at this time of night, I'd rather walk on my own than fight". Like, we are back at this, but what has changed? I don't know, I have a playlist of "Songs I can't get over" , that I listen to and the meanings change from time to time.
Its not exactly good quality, but here is the complete audio for the night. Not taped by me, but I have tried to make it sound better. Enjoy! (Link may not send so check my channel) ruclips.net/video/a9rlHw2uKac/видео.html
Someone uploaded a TV Special called "The Best of Montreux 1993" and I trimmed the New Order song. I've seen it before on a brazilian channel called BIS but no idea about foreign channels/company production.

I don’t try to fathom Bernard’s lyrics any longer!! But you’re right, it’s a great song

Very similar story. Saw this at hacienda live , instantly hooked. Favourite NO song even after listening for nearly 40 years
It looks great, thanks. Hope somebody restore the complete show. I would pay for that.
The footage has been restored very well, looks like it could’ve been filmed today
I’ve been looking for this segment from this exact special for 16 years.
I love this song.
Nice mucic. The beast electronic !!!
Wow!!! Thanks for uploading!
Thanks for uploading. Any idea when this 'highlight' was re-broadcast and on what channel etc?
