This song totally changed my life, no lie. The song itself was absolutely an inflection point in my journey. Still gives me goose bumps.
The same with me. Back in the day is was so extremely different. Exotic. Fun. Yet enigmatic…as indeed the band was too.
Went out with a girl in the 80s and introduced her to New Order. This record reminds me of her because I could never work out if she had blue, green or grey eyes - they'd change with the light.
when a song is your favorite song for 25 years..... someone is doing something right
I was only 18 those days. Think I couldn't think of anything else out of New Order.
If you don't think this is the best song ever .... something is wrong with you
Sammy Sue Bizarre Love Triangle is my personal favourite. I always feel overwhelmingly happy when I hear it.
This IS the Greatest Track EVER ... been saying that since 1982 ... a Masterpiece
@Arnine Kay yeah Ceremony is Special ... it tells me that JD was only getting better every day and I am grateful that New Order recorded it ....
Lol it's isn't even their best song.
Couldn't agree more, the perfect song to forget about this corrupt disastrous British govt!
Best version ever. Bernard picking and hugging his 335 is iconic.
Hooky wrote about this gig in his book. Said he hated it, and that the crowd wasn't into it, but for me as a long time NO fan I always felt this was the absolute best performance. Why? Because the overall mix on stage let's every instrument breathe. U can hear hookys bass. Bernard's rhythm and chiming guitar and those beats and beautiful synths. Wake up guys. For crying out loud. It's probably your best live gig sonically.
YES finally someone gets it! This video was my introduction to this song and I never found anything else that could match up. I have a soft spot for The Temptation of Victoria but the music on this destroys that.
Its good...very very good but nowhere near as good as tower ballroom 1983 in brum.
The single best ever performance of 'Temptation'.
I agree with you in every respect. If you haven’t seen it suggest you find the official video and watch it. It’s like a short film.
1993 was the sweet spot in live performances for them, close to flawless, more mature, more relaxed, I love how Bernie managed to sing without problem the high notes, and the entire band at the top of their game.
one of the most genius gigs ever composed
Wow, this must be the zenith of this song and this band. This performance is perfection.
They were so tight during the 1993 gigs. Bernard's voice has never been better live than during these shows. At this time though it does always look like he is going through the motions and quite bored with being in New Order. No surprise they split soon after.
When new order was relaxed and had a good crowd they were close to flawless. Still love their messy 80s gigs but 93 was a very very good year live for them.
I saw them at Roskilde Festival same year and they were grumpy and seemed drunk or on substances. I remember Barney saying he hoped the festival crowd was "pissed up, drunk and full of spunk" 😆
What a masterpiece this lovely song is
this is the song that gave bernard confidence to sing and write lyrics. he is currently writing for the new songs to be released in 2014. a world without bernard is an awfully bleak and empty world
History proved you inaccurate
Absolutely brilliant, so sad that this partnership came to such an acrimonious end.
Bernard is a pompous christian ... don't blame Peter for cutting ties ...
@@richardblais5232 Who is blaming who?
@@jasonkingshott2971 I don't know ... Hooky explains his side of the story on RUclips, but the other 3 stay quiet ...
@@richardblais5232 what happened?
@@richardblais5232 no Peter is only interested in money
This song rocks!! Best live version of this song!! Sounds better than original studio version!! Gotta love New Order! Thanks for uploading
Superb. Barney looks so relaxed, love it.
Amazing guitar, amazing bass, amazing drums. Love this song so much..... superb.....
possibly one of the best renditions of Temptation by modern New Order ever before iPhones clogged the view. why do the people get up and start leaving at the end before giving applause? such disrespect for such a fabulous performance. it was standing ovation worthy and people just walked out before their stings got cold. ugh.
+J Ja I think the best is version on 'Electronic Beats presents New Order' here on youtube. epic. and brings back a sample of the original recording which is a great touch.
+AdjustableSquelch why not just give the direct link? a search of "Electronic Beats presents New Order" on youtube shows nothing.
+AdjustableSquelch I went to warehouse project recently in Manchester, the sunday night gig. besides what you might read on here it was superb and the rendition of Temptation went off. Me (50) and my daughter (17) loved it
J Ja it comes up with new order in Berlin
grunge era what to go..
One of the best versions ever!
My favorite Band. Song. Video. A Masterpiece.
Hooky UNLEASHED!!!
WOW. Every component raw, bloody excellent.
prior to 4/13/17 at Radio City music Hall, I had seen every New Order show ever played in New York from their 1986 to thier 1993 tour. Stiil my favorite New Order song, they did a great job re-creating this song in 1993 as they did 1 1/2 weeks ago (a span of 24 years)
Utterly brilliant..!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, my first autopsy post mortem at Nottingham University in 1993 reminds me of this song
I was there! Never realized how great of a show it was. At the time I was more interested in seeing Plant.
This song is magic & damn are they great here
Supposedly their best ever gig. Wish I'd been there.
The definition of a band !!! epic
Simply perfection
Love, love this version!
Страхотни и най прекрасния вокал
Greatest. Band. Of All Time.
I was 3... this song is so beautiful...
Melhor versão ao vivo desta obra prima. New Order estava na sua plenitude.
De la ptm.... que lindos recuerdos.... ese tema me hacía sentir dueño del mundo en mi adolescencia, que buenos tiempos.... Un saludo desde Pucallpa - Perú....
Fantastic version
Seven minutes, and Gillian doesn't get even one close up?
Very sad. It seems like she never gets any screen time. Cameras are always fixated on Bernard and Hooky.
@@andrewhalvorson I don't think she wants any
I love this song so much 🤗
Fabulous
thank you vaughanography
all together and at their best.
I'm diggin' Hooky's samurai ponytail. XD
That`s his best hairdo, in my book.
Muchas gracias por incorporar esta versión, la mejor en vivo de Temptation, de los maravillosos New Order. Es la canción favorita de mi vida. Besos para todos.
😘
almost 20 years later I found it again!!! Thanks so much!!
I never met anyone quite like her before, when I fell out of love in Wythenshawe
Hook's bun 100/100
De esas canciones que deseas que te dediquen, por sublimes y únicas.
this is awesome!!! thanks for putting this online!
i live it so much!!
Does anybody have an idea about Hooky's sweater? Can't seem to guess the designer / clothing line! The whole look's utterly stunning!
Juan Alvaro Hutt Hooky rocking the man bun! ❤️
Masterpiece
To thnk that these guys opened up for Robert Plant at this show. Either way I was glad to be there.
Worst humblebrag ever.
Hooky. The 2nd Frontman.
Banda da porrahhhhhh 🤘🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
People say blue Monday changed music Bollocks! This song and everything's gone green two yrs before blue Monday changed music!
I was there.
We know. You keep fucking banging on about it. Now fucking shut it.
Barney is dressed like early 90's Black Francis of the Pixies here lol.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂
badass
They sound really good here. Maybe the production is better and they're not all off their heads.
The new one is going to make every band out there wonder if maybe these guys are something more special than possible. And wait for the next guitar album, as I believe Bernard and co have way more to give, . they have never written for an audience , only themselves., and Phil and Tom add new vigor, and excitement.. And Bernard is as magnificent at montreaux as I have ever seen him
1 2 3 4!
all other bands i suggest you get your coats...........
Hooky on good form I see. Actually, so were the rest of them.
32 years now well not long ago Ian killed himself . oh well R.I.P and great band new order are.
42 years and counting.
@tebanjose search for the live version at glasgow , that is better imo

Bullshit I call it, not one close up
Wow pretty good surprisingly .. Bernard in semi tune ..grunge was in full swing around this time yuck!
... after The Smiths.
Fuck off. New Order were, and still are far superior.
Than the Smiths? Although I also like New Order very much you must be absolutely kidding mate!
lyrically Morrisey all day.....sonically .....cant call it !
