I listened to Avenged Sevenfold while my girl was pregnant and now my 1 month old daughter can only go to sleep to this song. She cries to lullaby videos and other songs but this song calms her down right away! Glad you liked the song, one of my favorites :)
Even if you are not religious, how could you not get chills hearing M Shadows devotion to his loved one and asking God to look over her while he’s on the road? The man is putting his complete vulnerability on display. I know so many people connect to this song whether it’s through their own faith or their deep connection and love with another person. And that is so powerful. I think the band is so talented. Another song i love is “Lost”. It uses auto tune and sounds like a JPOP anthem. But the lyrics are also powerful about SO MANY people being “lost” in this world and it leading them to senseless crimes (such as humanity killing each other). Just shows how unique and passionate they are that they can jump around from genre to genre. I actually don’t like most country songs - but was floored by Dear God. And I agree 100% that A7x mixed with the country genre is one of the most unique sounds ive ever heard. I wish so badly they had done more. I would love a full record or even just an EP.
When my son got married he was to chose the first dance song. He chose this song. Before the dance started he explained why; he is a U.S Marine, his bride is his high school sweet heart. Two weeks after graduation he left her for boot camp in San Diego, shortly after that he left for his first deployment. When he came back they got engaged, they found out 10 day after they were to get married he was deploying yet again. He was asking for God and his entire family to protect her when he couldn't be there to protect him himself. Not a dry eye at the wedding just then. They are still together. Imagine they were 15- 16 years old when they first got together and are now in late 20's and 3 deployments. Great review on this song.
This comment made me tear up, I know all too well about deployment and how it can affect families. The fact that they could stay together through all of that shows they truly love each other. And the chorus of this song was practically written for their specific situation. I hope you, your son, and his wife are all doing fine!!
The cool thing about this song is that it was written for those who are away from loved ones. The speak about those who are touring, over seas fighting and just people away from their loved ones.
Man Gibby, you just had to get me with this one. I've been listening to Avenged Sevenfold for a long time. Seen them live many times too. I'm not a religious person at all myself, but this song took on a much heavier meaning to me after I heard it again by random chance not long after my mother passed away (my mother was a Catholic herself). And now this song is even deeper because I'm currently on my second deployment, I serve in the Air Force. This is the second time I've been away from my wife and the first time I've been away from my son.
This is my favorite song by them, love putting it on late at night and just to listen. And the outro Solos switching from pedal steel and guitar just always get me.
I've been listening to avenged sevenfold for a very long time. And I never actually counted how many fucking bangers there are that they've made. Holy shit that is mind blowing.
Love this song so much. Its so different from thier usual style but at the same time they still made it thier style. This band just finds new ways to blow your mind on every record. Almost Easy is a must listen for sure. FoREVer!
You need to listen to probably the only "ballad" they did in their younger years. I used it at my wedding and I have seen alot of other people use it as well. Its called "Warmness on the Soul."
I miss the height of A7X vs BFMV. Both bands were fighting to be the next mainstream band and it was awesome seeing so many teens in high school arguing passionately about who was better. Then The Rev passed away and somewhat helped A7X by stealing the spotlight with his tragic passing, then Nightmare album crushed Temper, Temper album by BFMV and the rest is history.
The anniversary of the Rev's death is coming up on the 28th of this month. With that being said, I really hope you can do a reaction to "Brompton Cocktail" (Self-Entitled Album) and/or "Fiction" (Nightmare). They were both written by the Rev I believe & talk about his death. Would love it so much. #GibbyGang
This is a great one. I'm not the biggest country fan ever, but what's not to like about this? Never gonna hate on an artist trying to branch out and try something different.
Considering you did one of their untraditional songs with a country style you should definitely do some other untraditional ones by them.... Lost-pop style Malaguena Salerosa- Literally a spanish song Warmness on the Soul- Rock ballad Fiction- more of a ballad, with lots of Rev vocals
Pillar: We Ride, Nails, Frontline Decyfer Down: Nothing More, The Rive, Crash Thousand Foot Krutch: Be Honest, Step To Me, Hurt, E is for Extinction, Learn To Breathe Disciple: Lay My Burdens, Dear X, Someday,Touch of Pain, Bring The Dead to Life
You need to watch the "Making of Avenged Sevenfold." They go through making each song within the studio. Its a comedic hit. You get to see the guys explain this and that. Actually if you want to react to them, you can find a clip for the making of...each song from the full documentary. Country stars Big & Rich as well as Shanna Crooks assisted them with this song. And if you didn't already know, "A Little Piece of Heaven" (which you've already reacted to) had a little assistance in the studio with Steve Bartek who used to be with Oingo Boingo. The lead singer of that band is Danny Elfman. You should react to a few Oingo Boingo songs like "Dead Man's Party" (can't find a decent official video but there is one - maybe a lyric one for that song) and "Weird Science."
Please and I mean please do: I Won’t See You Tonight, Pt. 1 by Avenged Sevenfold next (maybe part 2 as an add-on) it will be something special OR if you want their first love song back in 2002 check out “Warmness on the Soul”.
Gibby huge fan. Saw your reaction to Powerwolf they are a German Power Metal band with gothic catholic influences ranging from werewolves and Vampires also including demons and angels. Another Great Power Metal Band from Sweden would love to see you react to Sabaton- Fields of Verdun
A lot of new A7X fans that listen to A Little Piece of Heaven immediately will hate it, but I think there’s a reason Dear God is after. It’s a way of realisation that all the bad things we do in the past, it’s up to us to realise the mistook path we went. The bad ways we used to give were us “giving in to selfish ways”. A Little Piece of Heaven being about a man stabbing a woman for them to come back to life and do the same to them, only to get married after rape and harassment. But it’s like in Dear God, MShadows is singing about the person that regrets doing that and now this ‘person’ is perhaps in the afterlife. I think the reason Dear God is after A Little Piece of Heaven is to show a sign of realisation. That what he did was selfish and we must learn to not fall in that position or else we will share the same fate or our loved ones will share the same fate. So if there are any new a7x fans out there, which there is, keep that in mind if you feel you dislike A Little Piece of Heaven.
you gotta react to i won't see you tonight part 1 & 2 by them. the songs are about their old bassist justin sane who synyster gates walked in on attempting suicide. the first part is supposed to be from justin's perspective and the music is amazing and the lyrics are really emotional. part two is matt's reaction to the attempt. both songs are touching and unbelievable so you should check them out cos they're definitely worth a listen.
About time Devin!!! What did ya'll think of this one?
You should do Fiction next!!!, It was the last song The Rev recorded with the band . It is pretty sad. :(
do either fiction or gunslinger
By the way loved the reaction!!! Keep up the good content!!!🔥🔥
This album got me into A7X. I love this album and there isn't one filler song on there.
D-GIBBY please react to tension by a7x

Strength of the world from avenged sevenfold. Great song bro
This is also the album that they became part of the music mafia.
@@samuelcarey3525 they did that on their 4th Album. The white album.
@@jackoats4911 City of Evil was made them get recognition and more popular, especially since they were on Live MTV TRL.
@@hazardgaminghg122 yes.... ? Lol
This song has one of the best outros I’ve ever heard.

Great song.

Blinded In Chains. The Rev has one sick drum lick in it. You'll listen to it multiple times, I promise!
“Flash of the Blade” by A7X from their Diamonds in the Rough album. It’s a cover of Iron Maiden and is an absolute banger!!
Just absolutely killed me when he swiped a tear 🤣🤣🤣🤣☠️☠️❤️
You should hear their Spanish cover, Malagueña Salerosa.
Up
Blinded in chains next please
I love the open love and acceptance of the one true God!

This is a great sevenfold song
You should've watched the music video with this, it would've made much more sense but yes, it is being on tour and being away from family.
Seize the day is another layer of this type of their music catalog
Yep this is my second favorite sevenfold song next to seize the day
M shadows did the clean and screaming vocals. I think Rev did do some back ups on this too. M usually does all the vocals, rev sings a lot on album 4.
please warmness on the soul by a7x lyric
It's synyster gates' idea. They left the city to a studio out in their cabin. One night Syn got drunk on vodka and came up with that opening riff.
This is so good bruh😀
Its a sad song...sounds like a country music because of the rhythm guitar, but its so good to hear in my ears....I love A7X!
