- Beginning with a powerful poem, Angela talks about the power of acknowledging and healing from the “strength and resilience trauma” that black women normalize and carry; Realizing the black woman's burden and healing our caregivers and youth. Angela Bowden is a writer, speaker and activist. Bringing her lived experiences as an African Nova Scotian woman, Angela speaks and writes extensively about social justice and the emotional experiences of her people. She has delivered many speeches at social justice and women focused events and has published articles and poetry reflecting African Nova Scotians experiences and pain. Angela is passionate about the anti-racism activism she is involved in and has organized and participated in many events that challenges the injustices in our communities and systems. This was a breath of fresh air, I got emotional because I finally understood that I do not have to reap the repercussions of generational curses but instead break them and heal!

I just love the language of "Freedom". As a healing human and a healer, I just want everyone to experience the power of that "Freedom". Such a beautiful talk to inspire us all to be curios about our own stories, how we have been hurt, and forging our own paths to healing. One of the most powerful outcome of our own healing is that it inspires others to heal as well.

This has NOTHING TO DO WITH GOD. . God told us in His Word exactly what He treasures in every woman ''a gentle and quiet spirit, submissiveness to her husband, not adorning or braiding of the hair.'' A woman who spends her day caring for her own household and helping the poor. Jesus said '' Why do you call me Lord and not do as I say?''
