      Definitely top 4, maybe even top 2. I've backed them since the beginning of the season after hearing Jesus & Zinchenko's addition, and they've contributed immensely to prove me right. I still believe that City will end up winning the title, but getting back to the Champions League was the goal from the start, and it'll be fulfilled if nothing happens in World Cup & players get injured.

    Compare that with Ten Hag spending THIS SUMMER WINDOW: £227.4m

    Doesn't care whether arsenal make it to the top at the end of the season or not, but the level of football has been seriously elite. the rotations and transitions arsenal have is so exceptional. its just an unmatured team in terms of experience and age but they override the high pressing opposition systems, and that's what i am happy for. With additions in 6, a winger and a strike partner for Jesus arsenal will be highly threatening in the coming years. only thing that will stop arsenal this season would be depth, nothing else if not they are going to the champions. exceptional work rate and good group of talented players make things bright for the future. The key takeaway is that a system is in place now( that was much needed), just need to ride away in that making necessary changes. its impressive to watch them.

    for Arsenal fans who still have trouble understanding Arteta's system, i will explain as simple as possible. When they have the ball, they play like Man City, but they defend like Liverpool. Why Arteta wants his team to defend like Liverpool? The biggest factor, Arsenal players' tactical awareness and intelligence are limited to follow a pressing system so random and relying so much on player's senses like Pep's teams. Liverpool's system however, it is very easy to apply. For example, if Arsenal defend with a 4-4-2 high/mid block with Jesus and Odergaard leading the line. If the ball goes to Jesus' side, he press and everyone follows him, the same thing applies if the ball goes to Odergaard's side. In City, who is closest to the ball, he has to run and everyone follows, this requires City players sensitive senses and intelligence to know what to do, instead of an Liverpool's pressing in which the forwards are the leaders. What makes Arteta's team breakthrough was that he realized his team is unable to do everything City players do, so he seeks other things easier and suitable for his boys to bolster their strengths and cover their weak points. As a result, Arteta's Arsenal became a hybrid of creativity he inherited from Pep and intensity, discipline, hardwork he learned from Klopp.

    • @yungdkay1008
      @yungdkay1008 Год назад +11

      Total sport on
      Arsenal attacks like man city with little variation and defend more like Liverpool also with little variations
      And they build from the back depending on how the opponents press.
      The whole system highlights arsenal's strength and covers Thier weakness making them play better than expected
      And one good thing about this system is that it's adaptable depending on the opponent
      When I say adaptable I mean it can easily change to exploit opponents spaces which makes it suitable to use over and over again
      The main draw back about this system is that it needs players with some specific characteristics and that's why arsenal will need to dig deeper into recruiting the right players in other to have more depth, because the unavailability of a player who can fill a particular role will bring about lots of bad results
      How well arsenal progress through the years will depend highly on recruitment

I know this through an analysis from a facebook fanpage, i dunno when this article released, i read the analysis ever since the start of season 21/22. They also made predictions about potential players that Arteta would seek in the summer. They did so in March 2022, long before the news of Arteta announcing he was going to get Jesus and Zinchenko.....and they were totally correct, without any leaks from the club. They only predicted through Arteta's system and current player contracts.

    • @quangtrungbui675
      @quangtrungbui675 Год назад +1

      @FriedIcecreamIsAReality not at the level of City players for sure. Liverpool's pressing system always has a solid pressing leader, usually Firmino and Mane (last season). He is the one who initiate the press, phrasing "where and when he runs, everyone follows him". Man City system has no solid pressing leaders, anyone has to play that role if he is the closest guy to the ball. Man City press much randomly while Liverpool press more systematically. To press like City, every player on needs superb intelligence to analyze the situation quickly. In Liverpol's case, the only one who has to achieve such ability is the leader, the other guys only have to follow him. That's what I meant.

    I think Arteta actually started doing the 2-3-5 first before Pep. He saw it and liked it and tried to then put his own spin on it, why it looks like Peps idea is because Teirney struggles to play that type of position and plays as a wingback better, but since Zinchenko and White can play midfield it's easier for them to comfortably take those positions

    It puts too much pressure on Partey and the backline 4 to not get disposessed and to break the opposing press from the back. Just a small thought. Sometimes Partey and Zinchenko has the habit of trying to find a good pass and gets disposessed.

    Would be very interesting if you made a video on how to counter these Arteta tactics. In this video they appear to be really difficult to beat and they seem to have the answer to every problem but i don't think that's the case. Every tactical plan has its disadvantages, if you could highlight them and show how someone can exploit them, that would be great..

    • @deejaygeorgeous
      @deejaygeorgeous Год назад +9

      Transitioning is a major key here and main challenge for other teams,,the players now know how and when to swift themselves.. and that's being unpredictable.. i just love it that players coordinate smoothly and spontaneously

    • @eugenede-graftafful9517
      @eugenede-graftafful9517 Год назад +7

      The disadvantage is they can easily exploit the LB if zinnia inverts but then again the CBs are soo athletic and quick that they will be able to cover quickly…the only way to beat the system is only if the planters don’t turn up..

      @@Tom-nd1fs lol it's not simple as it looks on Paper. White and Gabriel are really powerful runners and Saliba has exceptional recovery pace. The games where Arsenal were exploited heavily in transitions were without Thomas Partey. Traore, Sterling, Zaha, Diaz Nunez Son who are have top level speed have barely killed Arsenal in transitions unless Arsenal made errors.

    Arsenal winning the league is down to the management finding a replacement for Partey. He is the most important cog of the team. Never before have I seen a team rely so heavily on one player. His defending and distribution is next to none in the EPL. If the team can't find a proper understudy for him when he's injured, we might as well kiss the league goodbye

    With respect to the rest of players.. Jesus profile and quality is the most unique and hardest to replace (partey in 2nd place).. he provide so much dynamism.. great tactical understanding of arteta system, can play comfortably at various front position, quick, highly technical and surprisingly great physical strength in duel and ball protection.Can be trust to play both as lone striker or behind the main striker. The quality gap between him and eddie, lacazette, auba is just too big. The last great player arsenal have with such impact is probably sanchez ( sadly the squad was never fit enough for whole season in his time).
    In a hindsight, failing to sign nunez and vlahovic prove to be a blessing.. their profile would probably resulting in less fluid system.
    I wonder who is Edu targeting to be mould as next gabriel jesus.. must be hell of job.

      Martinelli/Saka plus Xhaka will fill in the centerback's hull. With their current refinement, a chipped ball or a deep pass is going to be sent to the one who just went there and initiate a dangerous attacking situation.
