I like your style of guides, very informative. Could you do a hist. Germany guide? I’ve put over 1k hours in the game, I’m just shit at majors and I want to learn Germany
So a heads up on this guide back a few patches ago Paradox changed the how you get Sunrise Invasion, SO you can't now take a Europe nation before Mexico. because of this way.
Cheers Bitt3rSteel, this worked like a breeze even with NSB. My run went better(?) than yours since I timed my betrayal of Germany perfectly, and then had little trouble finishing off the Soviets whilst waiting for my tech to finish up, 1946+ lag tho...
Going for National Defense State takes you to Total Mobilization, but loses you a lot of manpower, but fortunately for us, the Japan focus tree is a generous one. If you then do the Spiritual Mobilization focus next (which is unlocked the moment you complete National Defense State), it allows you to regain almost all of that manpower back
Don't believe this works anymore. It doesn't let me use German ports for naval invasion after getting docking rights. Furthermore it says I can't join Axis due to distance being like -300
I tried this strat on my first attempt at Sunrise Invasion, in the current patch you cannot get military access from the Germans, I tried everything, maxxed relations, used a spy on diplomatic pressure, nothing worked. Second strat I tried was just a straight up invasion of the US, it landed but they convoy raided me to death very quickly and even building up good quality naval bombers and convoy escorting wasn't enough because you cannot get enough fuel and even with 300+ naval bombers you kill about one single sub per month and the US starts with around 70. This just isn't a fun achievement in the current version of the game.
I'd actually stage your invasion from Bremen. Wilhelmshaven is a marsh. Your general will get sick. OH, and range doesn't matter on fleets if you are changing ports. You can just send them. The red zones is showing the limit of how far you can send deployment orders, not movement orders when changing ports. Just select and send them to the port.
have your tried some of the romanian achievements? am realy strugeling with the "neither death nor dishonor" one, perhaps you can show us some cheezy exploits (:
I tried this method without Ironman Mode, it does work well, but I think it would be better if you let your navy in the Caribbean Sea, preventing any naval invasion from happening. You could just leave several destroyers around Home Island to protect the convoy. Usually, the AI only sends around 4-6 subs to do the raiding, not much of a concern imo.
The glorious leaders of Albania, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iraq, Iran, Venezuela, Afghanistan, Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan, Sinkiang, Xibei San Ma, Shanxi, Mengkukuo, Yunnan, and Guangxi Clique all wear hats too (or head coverings). Also, guide worked perfectly. I had a little trouble with the US first time through, the lines got too long and I was left with gaps that the AI kept getting around. So I instead settled on using 20w 7-2 (ugh, I know) infantry divisions and converting the 10 units used on the Dutch into those, which also let me train up a few more. The extra divisions helped a ton, and the US army is so weak in 1937 that 7-2 or 14-4 didn't really matter. I did change up to the 40w 14-4 for Britain and France. And last note, I had to take Sardinia from Italy since it's a French core in Europe for the Tour de France. I just justified on them after finishing France and Britain, the 40w infantry cut right through and the war was over in seconds.
@@Bitt3rSteel thanks for the video, I literally had never played Japan before in my 600+ hours in HOI4. Never realized what a great position they're in for a world conquest.
There's nothing hard to do for achieving it, you just have to research and manage the ships here and there, and of course, have the patience to do it, otherwise again, it's easy
As always, you’ve put out another fantastic video. Would love to see a fascist America play through. A Luxembourg world conquest would be pretty interesting to see
didnt have enough supply from the captured ports to maintain attacking in the us .. so i failed. :/ my fleet got in big trouble too lose lose lose.. damn.
Any chance you could do a guide for "Crusader Kings 2"? Where as Communist South Africa you need to complete the Anti-Colonialist Crusade and then defeat the allies and capture London?
I fail so bad at managing those naval invasions and other fleet stuff, some part of me wants to delete this game and never come back... But i like infantry battles and some cheesy strats, so i keep learning Hoi4 :q
As an alternative approach, you can start with France instead of the Netherlands. A tougher fight, but winnable. Next, you do the UK and its dominions. From a french colony in the carribean you can naval invade canada to include them in the peace deal, annexing them after you take out the UK. After that, the USA is quite easy to invade from Canada, and you don't have to rely on naval invasions there. Also, by that time there are no more allies left :-)
Just a small note, 20 single-battalion divisions are not enough for Tour to fire (maybe they changed it). I just put five in each and then it fired, but the game files say: check_variable = { num_equipment_in_armies@infantry_equipment > 2200 } check_variable = { num_equipment_in_armies@support_equipment > 220 } check_variable = { num_battalions_with_type@bicycle_battalion > 22 } So basically 2200 infantry equipment (22 battalions) and MORE than 22 battalions.
I followed your strategy, but I didn't get Sunrise Invasion. Based off of what I saw elsewhere, you have to take Mexico before you attack anywhere in Europe. I guess even contolling the Netherlands before they capitulate invalidates the achievement.
I was so close... Czechoslovakia joined the allies without any reason o_O Then I capitulated both England and France, just to see Canada as a major in 1938 >.> Then Canada is about to capitualte, Australia, New Zealand, the Raj and Czechoslovakia are apparently majors now in early 1939. @@Bitt3rSteel Yeah that's what i did on my communist china run, but i didn't wait for the USSR to get knock out by Germany, i helped them destroy the axis lol Thanks for the tips, i'll be waiting for your next vid :)
It helps to set the subs to escort convoys from Japan through the pacific. The main fleet can cover the rest. Another thing I never realized until now is that your army won't follow a naval invasion until that invasion has secured enough support ports to provide support to the other forces. So the first thing to do after landing is grab the neighboring ports. You do this, but it wasn't directly stated. Fun guide! Everything worked well for me and I learned a ton following this playthrough.
Great job. Can we see a USSR run that puppets both Japan and Germany? I think your paratrooper strategy can knock Japan out fairly easily if you gain air superiority in the air. Also, three collaboration govt missions should make the surrender limits much lower once they are on the mainland.
Just as a heads-up for how I did it: Kill Poland early, using them to get the war needed to get rid of the officer malus. Then justify on Germany, but only declare on them after the Anschluss. This allows you to get Italy via land and thus actually get a peace conference. From there just paradropping Japan should be easy.
I attacked japan once they pushed into China a fair bit not enough for China to cap but just enough for me to blitz manchuko and take most of Korea. You can uses what light tanks and horse divisions you start with for the initial blitz. You’ll need some infantry with AT or light tanks with AA to push Japanese divisions. Your base 20 width INF can hold but can’t push super great.

the video was listed to go online at 14:00 GMT+1...i have no idea how you were even able to see it!
@@Bitt3rSteel now I'm extra confused
RUclips messed up! I hope you liked the early access :p
I am kinda mad that I never thought of that!
bro, i love your videos but, if you wanna know how i invade the usa as japan: Set up a naval invasion from the nothern most point of japan to attu island close to alaska, once thats done invade alaska, from there you can go for seatlle and easy win.
"I'm pretty sure you've had the same thought in the past"
Me, a Californian:
The navel range is a limitation of how far a fleet can do a job, patrol, convoy raid and escort, ect.
It doesn't dictate how far the fleet can travel.
As you can see, I'm not much of a naval man
@@Bitt3rSteel Got it. Also America's Arsenal of Democracy when?
I like your style of guides, very informative. Could you do a hist. Germany guide? I’ve put over 1k hours in the game, I’m just shit at majors and I want to learn Germany
I hadn't considered Germany actually...Good point! I'll add it to the whiteboard!
Bitt3rSteel are you primarily a single player guy or do you also play multiplayer on HOI4?
So a heads up on this guide back a few patches ago Paradox changed the how you get Sunrise Invasion, SO you can't now take a Europe nation before Mexico. because of this way.
18:31 I think he was trying to say 'minimize,' and whatever that was was the replacement.
you should revamp this video
What I want in hoi4 is fleet oilers that you can put in your fleet to extend naval range. Invading across the pacific even with Hawaii is a pain
Nuking San Francisco is the definition of a pro gamer move
16:14 Invasion of the Netherlands took all of 5 days! Awesome!
good job
I got tour de France as Britain. No joke, I was doing one empire and puppeted Japan, later annexed them, inherited their bicycle templates and voila.
Bittersteel you tricked me at the beginning lol
Hey I'd like to see you do some multiplayer guides!
Cheers Bitt3rSteel, this worked like a breeze even with NSB. My run went better(?) than yours since I timed my betrayal of Germany perfectly, and then had little trouble finishing off the Soviets whilst waiting for my tech to finish up, 1946+ lag tho...
Late game becomes so unplayable
Finding this now, but imagine... "You just conquered us, and now you're releasing us... Why?" "Weapons testing."
Going for National Defense State takes you to Total Mobilization, but loses you a lot of manpower, but fortunately for us, the Japan focus tree is a generous one.
If you then do the Spiritual Mobilization focus next (which is unlocked the moment you complete National Defense State), it allows you to regain almost all of that manpower back
Could you please make Persian empire ?
Play as Iran.
Curiously, wasn't Iran still called Persia in 1936?
It could be ,if it played by Bitt3rSteel.
@@Bitt3rSteel Nop
Sadly u cant join the axis this early anymore
Don't believe this works anymore.
It doesn't let me use German ports for naval invasion after getting docking rights. Furthermore it says I can't join Axis due to distance being like -300
You need military access or a faction with Germany, negative news, Germany will not grant it....in BBA
Disband faction, join axis?
Video suggestion: It's 1812 all over again guide.
It is time for Bevrijding my good sir.
You can simply press ctrl + right click to set your navy base and send your navy to germany :D
As you can see, I've not actually used a navy in many moons...
Try to restore the Persian empire as Iran. It's gonna be a fun challenge.
Just select and send them to the port.
yeah, Bremen would have been the smart choice. But then again, true Iperial Japanese Soldiers can handle a swap!
Northern Light and the other sweden stuff could be nice to watch
have your tried some of the romanian achievements? am realy strugeling with the "neither death nor dishonor" one, perhaps you can show us some cheezy exploits (:
I had my first test game yesterday, actually! It's the next video in the works
Do Finnish him when it gets added
Oh,I plan to. Perkele
Would it be possible to see you go for the Scandinavian Union?
Thought the newspaper with the Neutrality Act while the US was being invaded was funny.
Whenever I do the naval invasion on the US, I always end up failing and my troops dying.
My god, the fascists are everywhere
@@Bitt3rSteel thanks for the video, I literally had never played Japan before in my 600+ hours in HOI4. Never realized what a great position they're in for a world conquest.
What about the "My ships don't lie" achievement? ^^
There's nothing hard to do for achieving it, you just have to research and manage the ships here and there, and of course, have the patience to do it, otherwise again, it's easy
Could you also make a video to restore the Spanish colonies? (srry my English is bad)
Veryy good strategy but I'd recommend to start with civilian factories, because it leads to more production
Maybe. But I plan to consume the US for those sweet sweet factories
I've done that years ago, but with the new mechanics may make it very very hard
The border war with the soviets is a nice way to get army xp
Sooo... Endsieg is next right 😉
Please do sunset invasion now!
I fail so bad at managing those naval invasions and other fleet stuff, some part of me wants to delete this game and never come back...
But i like infantry battles and some cheesy strats, so i keep learning Hoi4 :q
Just play Hungary or something :p
@@Bitt3rSteel Yeah, i loved playing as Romania and conquering USA as Canada :) Looking for similar stuff in ur channel!
I believe naval range only affects operations, not strategic redeployment
As an alternative approach, you can start with France instead of the Netherlands. A tougher fight, but winnable. Next, you do the UK and its dominions. From a french colony in the carribean you can naval invade canada to include them in the peace deal, annexing them after you take out the UK. After that, the USA is quite easy to invade from Canada, and you don't have to rely on naval invasions there. Also, by that time there are no more allies left :-)
Bloodthirsty, I like it. But how do you live with yourself knowing that the Dutch are safe for so long?
Just a small note, 20 single-battalion divisions are not enough for Tour to fire (maybe they changed it). I just put five in each and then it fired, but the game files say:
check_variable = { num_equipment_in_armies@infantry_equipment > 2200 }
check_variable = { num_equipment_in_armies@support_equipment > 220 }
check_variable = { num_battalions_with_type@bicycle_battalion > 22 }
So basically 2200 infantry equipment (22 battalions) and MORE than 22 battalions.
I feel like Paradox lies in these descriptions
Eyvallah !
@Bitt3rSteel You can set a homebase for your naval units and they go there no matter how far it is so no need for this naval range stuff :D
Can you tell I'm used to just setting a ton of subs and forgetting about them? :P
I followed your strategy, but I didn't get Sunrise Invasion. Based off of what I saw elsewhere, you have to take Mexico before you attack anywhere in Europe. I guess even contolling the Netherlands before they capitulate invalidates the achievement.
You are right.I followed same way. I didnt achive
I abandoned really, at this point the game just didn't want things to go smoothly for me lol
Wow....just....wow
@@Bitt3rSteel Yeah, I'll try it again later lol Btw I followed your guides on China, they were very well made, but the only chinese achievement i miss now is Sun Tzu Reborn, the closest i was to obtain it was with Communist china, i had a field marshall lvl 8 by 1945 but i lost the save >.> I also had a lvl 9 field marshall with Qing China but the achievement is not available with it, i don't know why btw it's a bit dumb from pdx. Do you have any tips to grind for general xp ? It's always really slow for me so i wonder if i'm doing something wrong =/
I got it by endlessly grinding against mega Germany in my communist China run, pretty much fight them all the way to Berlin from Vladivostok
@@Bitt3rSteel Yeah that's what i did on my communist china run, but i didn't wait for the USSR to get knock out by Germany, i helped them destroy the axis lol Thanks for the tips, i'll be waiting for your next vid :)
As a native Mobilian, I'm not sure how I feel about you using my town as your initial naval invasion of the USA. :P
The facilities are just great!
August 2022 calling, Paradox has not fixed the cheese
This video could use a bit more explanation of how to protect the supply line from Japan to Lousiana.
Can you do mexico guide next please
