Artefact III Version 3 for solo Kontraforte - Faidra Chafta Douka & Olivia Palmer Baker

This is the third version of Artefact III for solo contraforte, part of a research project by composer Faidra Chafta-Douka, performed by Olivia Palmer-Baker.
This piece is semi-improvised and graphically notated using a notation system developed by Faidra, and involves process as a core element. Through researching how contraforte responds to different intentions (pressure increases, changing internal space, micro-movements of keys, not listening/observing all sound and many other ways), we organised these processes to create a piece that explores the extremes of the Kontraforte.
It's a piece that's great to shut your eyes and listen to, how the sound gently evolves, with more and more climatic and unstable moments interrupting this slow transformation. Also this is the audio recording so there's not too much to see anyways hahah!
