How many flasks i use? ( i not speak english)
I see your a man of good taste 🗿.
The fact that Fextra is *_STILL_* making new Elden Ring build guides is a huge statement on the game's overall design and build diversity.
Brah the game is not that old. People are still making Skyrim builds after 12 years.
@@JesusChrist2000BC He just wanted to make a "The fact" post, for likes. What a lame card.
@@JesusChrist2000BC Skyrim builds exist? for what?
@@Alvaro-ep2de For fun maybe? I always do fevvys builds when i play skyrim. I dont play it anymore tho.
The replayability of Elden Ring is incredible. Vastly different builds changes the pace and approach of combat in such a way, that the game feels new and fresh with each playthrough.
I wish I could replay this game like everyone else.. I was done after the copy paste final 3rd
@@TheLukieBoi1 what final 3rd ? What’s that mean ?
@@PuffnStuff117 He probably means that all endings except stars and frenzy are all too similar
@@TheLukieBoi1 If you're playing Elden Ring for the endings you're doing it wrong.
@@RUclipsistheworst He's not talking about the endings, he's talking about the final third of the GAME such as Moutaintops.
The range of the nagakiba just makes samurai builds so fun and unique.
u really just said unique to a samurai build
@@en20drayt87 They're unique in the sense they don't do anything too special with ashes of war, and instead just have a large variety of different attacks
@@en20drayt87 well to be fair it is unique in a gameplay/offline sense. Not necessary a unique build in a meta sense but disregarding muliplayer it is.
@@BLUEBOYISLEDGE come on dude I'm not coping just saying it's technically true. What else plays exactly like the same as a katana/samurai build ? Unique doesn't necessarily mean special or creative. It means that its basically its own style. Not saying it's good bad or anything. Didn't do a pure samurai katana run yet so I might be wrong
@@BLUEBOYISLEDGE
They’re referring to the fact that there is a decent amount of ashes of war that they can go with as well as some moves unique to Katanas when using one or power stancing two (fun fact, you can power stance the starting normal katana and the dagger katana thing so something to keep in mind), some of the moves works well with Katanas but also can be used for other weapons, piercing fang comes into mind while Unsheathe is completely unique to Katanas and calling it an identical thing to stance on straight swords isn’t entirely correct although I see your point.
There isn’t nothing wrong starting and playing as Samurai, nothing so just let people play whatever they want to use? This isn’t a complicated concept considering this game has an unholy amount of replayability.
After Rime Ronin and Blazing Bushido, this is the third time you've made a Nagakiba build. When I ran my samurai at launch, I went full cheese with an INT/DEX Moonveil + Cold Uchigatana build. I've neglected the Nagakiba for too long. It's time I sat down and made a dedicated Naga build.
Also the Soul Samurai build is Nagakiba
@@raijin3803 What do you guys think is the most fun out of all of these for a first time Nagakiba build?
@@antoineroquentin9875 i like the soul samurai build im playing it right now but with different armor because i don't want to sneak :) ruclips.net/video/rS_JyPIGSIg/видео.html
It's my favorite weapon in the game. Beat malenia on my solo attempt with it.
@@antoineroquentin9875 personally, I loved the quality naga with bow build. The blazing bushido? Very fun versatile build.
When he says nagakiba is in his top 5 weapons for the whole game... I really want to know what his top 5 are now
if nagakiba is in his top 5, river of blood is top 1 for sure
@@shinext1832 I've heard it got nerfed pretty hard, but haven't tried it again since my first character. I'm actually trying to go through the game fresh without using any broken BS to cheese through stuff.
@@itweeb4765 i'm doing my second run and i will build it this time just to try it, also i think its one of the most beautiful weapons of this game, but i wont check the build to not make something too strong
@@shinext1832 ROB isn’t nearly as strong as it used to be, it more like a morgots cursed sword level of power now
@@shinext1832 rivers of blood bleed build up got nerfed (i think)
range and damage also got nerfed
These build videos have been a big part of what's made Elden Ring so special for me. So much inspiration for my play throughs have started here.
I really like these all-game builds you've been doing recently. I've just gotten back into Elden Ring after some time away from it and I forgot how much I love the Nagakiba.
Put Nagakiba in offhand, and 2hand it.
Then the sheathe gets lifted a bit and it doesnt clip through the ground (fashion tip!)
First played this game as samurai and found out unsheathe can carry you through the whole game. Got the nagakiba later on and everything fell after that. Thank you to whoever suggested to add high poise damage to the R2 attack
Fextra being an absolute chad for releasing builds for a game that's been out for over a full year now
annoucing more material to come after the diablo 4 "interference" :D :D :D
It's ELDEN RING baby!!
Barely played at launch with caster and didn't feel it, just started playing again as samurai and in love time for a life suck
@@Oneinthesame1 what?
Who hurt you?
Always a thrill to see you post new Elden Ring builds!
Still holding my breath for a Dark Moon Greatsword NG+ and Spellblade-Magus NG+/all-game.
...Or at least a STR-INT all-game or NG+ build that's Dark Moon Greatsword friendly.
I’m telling you, I went from a faith/strength build with an focus on a life leech ash of war with the great star greathammer and switched to the blasphemous blade and ended the game with that. Now starting NG+ with this build and am having an absolute ball. Plays totally different than my old incantation heavy build. Just me and my sword. Thanks for the build, it’s an amazing one!
Love how you show a first run through alternative of this build. Not many creators do that. Ty
This. THIS is what I’ve wanted! Good stuff man!🙌🏼
Hey man just want to let you know how immensely your videos have helped suck me into this damn game. Your videos aren’t just precise blueprints to follow but also gave me ideas for how to customize it to fit my own likes. For example I switched to your elanora twin blade late game build, and later added a seppuku godskin peeler to take advantage of jump attacks. So unbelievably fun and I cannot wait to switch the seppuku to cold affinity to play with repeated freeze/blood loss proc
Also, the nagakiba is a superweapon/ghost sword. It doesn't get stuck in walls, roads, trees, fence posts. It only cuts enemies.
thank you for telling me this ive been switching to a cold scimitar or blood rapier when I’m in caves cuz a lot of the 2h r1 and r2s have huge swings
Tell that to my +25...
The Nagakiba is by far my favorite weapon. I've experimented with other weapons, but I always come back to the Nagakiba. I like to use a Dex/Arcane build with it personally.
I accidentally killed the ronin guy in the beginning and then proceeded to infuse it with Bloody Slash skill. Then after I not pumped my arcane. I beat the game doing that because of the bloody slash skill art. Nagakiba literally procked blood loss every second hit
Just bought the game on sale and you’re videos are amazing bro ! Thanks for the dope content you’re awesome 🤙🏽🔥
This looks like a lot of fun, thanks for the build!
This really helps!! I appreciate this
I've always wanted to get into a souls game but it is very overwhelming. I don't have time like some to test out each change so by you doing this, I can really get into this
Thank you
My fav look in the whole game. thank you for showing me ths. The swordtress top looks so good!
I'm nearing the end of NG7 (with a few other NG playthroughs), it's nice to see a fashion angle on these builds. Thanks for the continued content!
this is my fav build so far and ive been looking thanks this is really nice
Great Video as always. And big thanks again for the hard work you put into these videos. I tried the Blood Dancer build with eleanor's pole blade out today and I was wondering if we could get an update on this build maybe? Loved the Blasphemous Herald build btw. playing it on my 2nd character and starting my 3rd play through with it. Thanks for that! :)
Love this! Cannot believe how long the sword is!! It’s insane! Another great video cheers 🍻
Thank you for this build, first time playing Elden Ring and I'm tailoring my Samurai built into this.
Incredible. A samurai build that does not make you much of a meta slave.
Defo trying this out.
YES!! I’VE BEEN REFRESHING MY FEED EVERYDAY 🤩
Love these guides. Keep it up man
I’ve been playing other games (demon souls atm) but every time you make a new vid, makes me want to jump back in!
I really like this build, thanks!
I’m a late Elden Ring addict. But, this build made me precise and patient, not a button mashing monger. Thank you so much, dude. May you get more views and attention during dlc.
Cheers,
Humble fan
The highlight of the weapon are the heavy attacks, having a chargeable poke is incredibly powerful, especially if you go for counters
I like how the uchi and I believe the dragon kitana have a fast 1h r2 poke and then when you 2h the r2 becomes an overhead slash its really versatile the 1h poke destroys light shields and lower poised enemies and the 2h slash is a good punish for jump attack spammers but I think they nerfed the range from launch cuz you can no longer hit people who use jumping ashes of war
I’m currently using one with the poison grease mainly and the double slash AOW and it’s been really fun so far
thank you! all i’ve been finding is blood and moonveil, this what i wanted
I’m a big fashion souls/Elden bling nerd too, really like the look of the nox armor with the iron kasa, definitely gonna use that next build
Solid build. I'm doing something similar but in the strength route using Great Mace and Brag.Road > a Poise breaking build essentially which is essentially what this is. I really like the two handed use of weapons now as I myself was never into powerstancing. Not using Double Slash on the katana is hard for me to ignore though > another great build, keep them coming.
This is PERFECT timing Cass. I just started a new playthrough and I asked my wife last night "What weapon next should I do for 100%?" and she told me "KATANA!". Woke up to this video, LETS GOOOOOO
I was thinking about a build to try out when the DLC is out and I've also never used any of the greases in my playthroughs so this will be the one. Great video, as always. Thanks for all the work you put in to these, much apprecierad.
Currently on ng+7 and the build is absolutely nuts thus far! So glad I watched this and thank you so much for these build guides!
How did you spread your stats? What level are you?
@@cesarperalta6366 I'm on ng +8 right now. For my character, I've got 50 vigor, 30 mind, 52 endurance, 50 strength, 99 dexterity, 9 intelligence, 99 faith, and 10 arcane. I'll have to respec so I can get max health and as much endurance as possible
@@derekphillips2919 i see, so you also leveled up faith instead of keep leveling up strength
@@cesarperalta6366 I'll have to find a larval tear as to change it from faith to strength seeing as it's not needed. If I have some points left over, I'll put enough into faith to use flame grant strength
What's your preferred weapon for dealing with rock miners and crystallians?
For a tanky samurai looking build, I use the nights cavalry helm and the blackflame monk armor. Hands and feet are up to you, but I use fire prelate gauntlets and Hoslow's greaves
i really like the ashes of war system in elden ring. you can have the same weapon as someone else but because you have a specific ashes of war you could go a totally different route and still have a effective build. for example for this build you can literally try out many other ashes of war and still go this pure dex samurai build and youd be fine. idk how other people feel about the system but i am really having a great time trying out different abilities
New Fextralife build vid yayyyyyyyyyyy
Love the unique builds you come up with. Ive been working on a druid/shaman type build focusing on beast and crucible incantations with a few dragon ones. I throw a few boulders, throw out a tail swipe, and hit them with a big club. Stance breaks for days.
I've been so hungry for another Fextralife build video 😍
This does help with a problem I've been trying to sort out with a build thanks
I genuinely feel sorry for Cass, he's got so many games and so many builds and video series he has to work on in this channel. It's brutal, not to mention all the hunting he does on the side in case the ad revenue doesn't cover the rent (yay RUclips sustainability).
I made a different version of this when I made a Samurai build, and I have to agree that the Nagakiba is a fantastic weapon. I don't use it anymore since I foolishly started NG+ on all my builds instead of keeping them in the completed state to help other players, but since I have the PS4 and PS5 editions of the game on my PS5, I get to have twenty builds. So, maybe I'll end up using the Nagakiba again.
Good stuff, man, I love your stuff and it really helped me to learn how this game's mechanics and builds work.
yoo first of all thank you for these awesomes videos!
as this is my first playthrough, it's glorius to see how many builds there are and the way you explain them :D
i was wondering if this build would fit in a 50lvl stance of the game... anyway, i've been using the ucihgatana+unsheathe so moving forward to nagakiba seems to be a must.
if not, i think i might give it a chance to the moonveil build that seems fun too
Yes you definitely can!
I love all your Samurai Builds! :)
I would love to see a build focused around the scarlet rot.
I like the incorporations of greases, with such a comprehensive crafting system, crafting never seems to get much love. Would you consider making a perfumer/pot-thrower build?
More full game builds please!
Interesting to see all game builds
This video really helped me out,I'm going for a quality samurai with the Nagakiba,no magic,no gimmicks, just pure sword skills
25 strength and dexterity with 52 vigor
Quality Nagakiba, best ash of war for it is double slash,it's basically corpse piler without the blood effect, starting class was vagabond
This video really gave me a direction, especially with what weapon I was gonna use,the Nagakiba is a beast, not even fully upgraded and I'm one shotting most basic enemies
I'm playing a Faith-dex build right now using the Cipher Pata (really fun weapon!) and lightning incantations for rage, however I'm keeping a katana and using it with Electrify Armament whenever I need non-holy damage or longer range. Can't wait to get to the Nagakiba, it looks so freaking cool.
I made a samurai build that is likely less optimal than this one but I still found it good and very fun. I like a lot of weapon diversity in my builds.
This is was a new game build for me and mainly works because of my need for a diverse amount of weapons. The cold uchi was very good at setting up frost and when combined with Bloodflame blade the procs of both effects were very good. You can use hoarfrost stomp for the weapon art if you don’t wish to fight Royal Knight Loretta early on like I did. The faith isn’t necessary at all I just found the buffs very useful for a cheap investment. I mainly used smithing stone bell bearings to level up due to thr amount of weapons (3 to level up)
Keen Nagakiba with Unsheathe in R1
Keen Cross-Naginata with Swords Dance in R2
Cold Uchigatana with Freezing Mist in L1
Finger Seal with Bloodflame Blade, Flame Grant me strength and whatever weapons buffs you can get with the stats such as electricity or Poison Armament
Stats:
At least 40 Vigor
20-25 Mind
30 Endurance
18 Strength
60 Dex
15 Faith
10 Arcane
Very nice I use the nagakiba with the double slash
This video gave me nostalgia from when the game first came out
It may be considered a bit plain, or something already covered, but some sort of pure wizard/mage would be nice to see. I know with all your guides youve covered every way one could be built but something more thematic then absolute meta is always fun to see, and you do them so well.
Pretty much none of his builds are meta, for all of them it's more about the theme
Am I the only one who thinks " supreme samurai " sounds like a special asian themed meaty pizza that just came out ?
thank you!
A burrito supreme! And a Cutlass Supreme! And a samurai supreme! Supreme!
I can't wait too see the new weapons in the dlc I wonder if there will be any new katanas or maybe even a new weapon type
Beat elden ring, my first fromsoftware game, and played samurai didn't realize the power of undheathe and was focusing on strength. Later in the playthrough realized I needed to prioritize dex, had way more success. Maybe I will do another samurai playthrough with the nagakibu
Heres my lvl 200 naga build
60 vig
28 mind
32 endurance
18 strength
80 dex
64 faith
Keen +25 Nagakiba with Unsheathe (2 hand)
Erdtree Seal
Full Radahn Armor
Flask of Wondorous Physick
-Thorny Cracked Tear
-Lightning-Shrouding Cracked Tear
Spells:
Electrify Armament
Golden Vow
Flame, Grant Me Strength
Blessing of the Erdtree
Talismans:
Shard of Alexander
Lightning Scorpion Charm
Ritual Sword
Ritual Shield
Before the fight, drink physick, use all spells, use one flask of cerulean tears, head into the fight and destroy
This is a fun and solid build and the light load is what makes this, especially since the buff to light rolling. With the high demands on Vigor and Endurance (for equip load and stamina), you seemed to have forgotten to mention the very useful Erdtree’s Favour+2 talisman (again). Sure, it’s end game, but it will help with this stat hungry build.
Well before they "made" the light roll. It was either mid or heavy, light wasn't anything special at the time
@@TimothyGod yep, and now it’s fantastic.
White reed chest will also give you the same poise stats if you prefer the classic samurai look. I know I appreciate the sekiro vibe every now and then c:
Another great looking armor combo is the
Iron Kasa
All-Knowing armor
All-Knowing Gauntlets
White reed greaves
You could swap the helm out for the Eccentrics Hood to get like an old man samurai
Great build! Love it. Might go a bit higher on Endurance, to be able to have the Black Bow as a backup as well. Any good tips for Physics? Greenburst Seems obvious, but then I'm torn between Stonebarb Cracked Tear or Thorny Crackedf Tear.
Ive literally started a new game and grabbed the nagakiba from rushing
yuras quest line to make this over the past few days, good timing
Carrying me in DLC, such a simple yet such a powerful AoW
My Man
I love using the cross naginata in my off hand and uchi in my right amd two handing the naginata as my main. Buckler or small shield in the second slot of my off hand, and the long bow in the second slot of my main hand
Alternstive weapon arts:
naginata- piercing fang, sword dance, bloodhounds step
Uchi: double slash, bloodhounds step
Raptor of the mists on naginata and unsheathe on uchi. Blood infusion on uchi early game and occult scaling late game. For naginata i like using keen early game and occult (usually) late game.
Alternatively, ROB swap instead of uchi, as its in line with the Dex-Arcane build.
Ive also used s frost infusion on my naginata and flame infusion of my uchi. Or ROB as it hss innate fire damage.
Its also fun to swao the ucji for moonveil and run a dex-int build, add frost or magic infusion to the naginata for better int scaling and apply the frostbite status for added damage from all sources, as well as the flat percent damage from the frost proc
Also fun with a dex-faith build
For new game runs, level strength for the faith build and add the clawmark seal snd use quality scaling.
Theres so many ways to play with this build(s) and tailor it to your liking. it's easily one of my favorites.
If anyone has tried or will try these builds, lmk how you like them :) i find them super fun!
Top 5 five overall weapons would be a great video.
This is my fav build
Good video.
In my first playtrough I made an samurai thunder build(sekiro reference) the build was pretty good and was able to one shot red wolf but it got hard nerfed in the next patch
Looks really good ! I'm on my first playthrough and was following your blazing Bushido guide with the bleed incantation + flame grant me strenght and the STR/DEX build with quality affinity, now I'm not sure if I should change for that, I'm torn apart ^^ I'm at 115 and I finished Mohg in his sanctum + Morgott and beginning Farum Azula. Not sure what's the best option for a first playthrough and my future struggles with Malenia (can't wait to face her, Mohg was tough but I've heard and seen so much about her...). What I know for sure : I love 2 handing nagakiba, it's simple enough for a first time and it's still elegant and a bit tactical on your unsheathe timing, so, thanks for that, I had a blast so far.
More build videos????? I'm so down for that
I used this build to Fight Malena and this is a bit op. I now help people with this build.
I would really love a NG+ or whole game build built around the dark moon greatsword
Thank you for the great build.
Love this one! The harder wey is the only wey.
My favorite builds are samurai builds because thing like uchigatana and nagakiba it’s so cool
Excellent stuff, without Fextralife i'd probably have bounced off the game. Thanks for continuing to provide quality content!
Thank you! You're most welcome :)
I appreciate all of the info that you put out there, builds, guides, …. Thanks for all of the time you put into these. What about a ranged option for this build? Would you just use a bow?
Black bow for sure
I was actually wondering could you do a quick run-through of a early samurai build for players? Like a quick 20-minute run you could do to get a whole bunch of flasks and weapons to have a samurai build that we can take all the way to end game?
nice this was basically my first playthrough but with blaidds armor for better survival. Though I just used the spell electrify armament, stuck with that.
Build works with Flamberge too. Got me through most of ng+1.
Going through this build now. Phew, not as easy as it looks but still good fun! 25 VIG/20 MND/21 END/18 STR and 32 DEX. Getting there! Just at that point we’re it all goes into DEX for a bit now…or VIGOUR…or was it ENDURANCE? 😂
I love using double slash on the nagakiba. Spamming L2 is insane.
love nagakiba
So I gotta say thanks to your site I managed to get all the items, weapons, armors, accessories, spirits, ashes of war, sorcery and incantations! Now I'm grinding for max level. Can't wait to play the expansion!
😎🍻😎
I've been enjoying your Dark Knight (Dark Moon sword + Helphen's Steeple) build while finishing my last run. Perhaps a build evolved from that?
This is exactly what I wanted
Bc every other video is a specific type of katana
It turned me off
I want the freedom
Thank you I like your vids a lot 🍻
I remember the 100+ hour review and him basically saying that if you like multiple builds in skyrim you will love elden ring. I got the game because of Fextralife and now after hundreds of hours it is one of my favorite games of all time and this man is still dropping amazing builds. Cant wait for the DLC and what builds come after. Thanks for all the elden ring builds and content.
Definitely my next build when dlc drops
So I've started ng+ and after all this time I thought screw it I'm gona make a samurai build already got my nagakiba at 25, got my larval tear ready, but then I thought no wait for fextralifes next build maybe it'll be better. Well today's the daaayyy
Who makes the thumbnails, some background potential right there
