Gojira has so many good songs. It's hard to pick out just a few but Flying Whales, Born in Winter, L'enfant Sauvage and Stranded are some of my favorites. They have such high level playing skills and they do have a lot of long intros but they're so good.
This version of this song always evokes such emotions. Such a beautiful performance, truly just raw power, be it Joe's vocals, the amazing tapping riff, the blisteringly quick drop or Mario's drumming that sounds like thunder.

It's tapping. Not a hammer-on. That would be hitting a fretted note, then "hammering" to another fret on the same string using the initial strum to let the note ring. Tapping doesn't involve picking at all.
hammer-ons don't necessarily need a strum. you can very much hammer-on and pull-of without ever strumming the string.. tappings are basically hammer-ons with your strumming hand.

And you girls are doing a good job with this channel, thumbs up :) I'm frowning sometimes though, how much you sometimes focus on the trivial things like someone crowdsurfing or waving his hair or making a face, missing out on some really good musical parts... then after the song you're like 'I didnt really get the lyrics'... maybe because you weren't focussing on the right stuff? I think they would get the songs better from the studio version vids at least, or both versions to compare them & discuss.

You’re almost right ! The technique used for this riff is called "tapping" but it looks like "hammer-on" ;)
