This footage brings be back to surfing the whole area up and down from border to San Miguel. Loved 38's and you could pull up to the bluff and surf it alone during the week. BM was good beach break but so was La Fonda, and even Rosarito could get good. So much good winter surf along that stretch. Too bad its been overdeveloped. Great memories of a more carefree time!

Im pretty young, dope seeing this footage. It feels like it used to be so popular back then. Only time I see more than 1-2 people if there is any at all is when it’s pumping.

I remember one particular session way back in the early 80'S. It was pumping and I didn"t have any wax and had very little on my board. I looked for about 20 minutes on the beach and finally found some. After I paddled out to the lineup, one of the first waves I caught, I pulled in and remember seeing my friend paddling as I was looking out the hole. I kicked out right after that barrel, even though I could have ridden it further. Thanks for the vivid memories.

Only time I ever surfed BM it was absolutely FIRING. It was basically like a blend of perfect Blacks and Silver Strand.

Yep, surfed this spot with my Clyde Beatty Rocketfish..circa 1976??? Yep from a 7 foot 10" Rick single fin rounded pin to a Fish..6 feet 4" twinner....what a ride! My friends were shocked at how well that board performed up to a solid 6 foot..it was made for small waves...I was 6 foot 3" and that board worked great even for a big guy like me.

THANKS for the memories, had a few epic sessions there in the 70's and 80's, and my hairiest shark encounter too. It was always worth a look on the way to and from San Miguel, winter time magic zone. Great footage.

Back in the late 60s there was a handwritten sign that said “No Immoral Acts on the Beach”. Our crew called it “Immoral Acts” for decades. Hollow waves.
