Hello Dr. shirin im a 36yr old I'm reaching out to seek clarification regarding an unexpected outcome following the procedure , I had my inguinal hernia surgery last march2022 upon waking up post-surgery , I became aware of an abnormality my left testicle seemed to have been displaced and is now situated within my intestine area which is located above the suturing. Your insights and expertise in providing clarity about the circumstances surrounding this situation would be immensely appreciated. Any explanation or guidance you could offer regarding this matter would be of great help in understanding and potentially addressing this issue. Thank you for your time and attention to this inquiry.
@@herniadoc Hello Dr. Shirin thank you for your response & thank you for your lovely program My testicle has been retracted during the hernia surgery time , and I have never been notified to go for a re operation. So is it common does it happen , and is there any risks I should be aware of if it’s left like that. It’s been 8 months now
After 3 months of laposcopic inguinal groin hernia surgery at times, I feel a very minor / tiny ache in the groin. It's not painful. It's annoying. I am swimming 30 minutes several times a week (breast stroke) not crawl.
@@semsemeini7905 This was great to hear, and inspirational to hear from you both. With me it was only 2 weeks ago for laparoscopic with robotic assisted bilateral inguinal hernia repair with an additional right femoral. Right ones were barely noticeable, but left was WAY noticable (being intrascrotal), and ironically more post-op pain is on right side. For just 3 months that sounds like great progress. I'm very happy for you.
I had an inguinal hernia repair a month ago then the night of my surgery while i was asleep my 6 year old son was sleeping with us and in his skeep drop kicked my stomach.a month later i have left testicular pain and penile pain with extended walking laying down on back especially after eating. And cant lift more than ten pounds without this pain what could be wrong?? Im from Texas and thinking about flying out to see you next year is there any hope for fixing this?? And is it too early for me to panic
Thanks for these informative videos. I suffer from chronic pain after bilateral inguinal surgery 2.5 years ago. I've been told my scar tissue will just grow back if I remove the mesh. What % of people have successful mesh removal? Thanks for any insight.
@@herniadoc Thank you and I apologize for the delay. I just enabled notifications. So I am at risk for recurrence. with absorbable suture, Is that correct? I have been in a lot of pain and it is not as bad but I am on week 10 since my repair.
Very much appreciated ❤️

How much does it cost to fix ? The low and high price.
Hello Dr. shirin

Your testicle completely retracted after inguinal hernia surgery? That needs reoperation.

Is 16mm defect in ingunial canal considered large?
Depends on which hernia. Note that hernias are surrounded with muscle which expand and contract.
After 3 months of laposcopic inguinal groin hernia surgery at times, I feel a very minor / tiny ache in the groin. It's not painful. It's annoying. I am swimming 30 minutes several times a week (breast stroke) not crawl.
Hopefully that will improve over time

Since pain has not resolved, I recommend you seek consultation from your surgeon again

In expert hands, more than 80% have very good outcome. But scar tissue alone is not adequate for long term hernia repair
Hello Shirin.
I have inguinal hernia reocurrence after TEP repair 😢
What is your surgical standard with your patient in this case?
An inguinal hernia recurrence after laparoscopic repair usually requires open repair with mesh
@@herniadoc thanks. An open tissue based repair is not good?
Is there a difference between using absorbable sutures and the alternative? What or why is the advantage?
Absorbable sutures absorb. So there is a risk a hernia repair will recur once they are absorbed. Thus we use permanent sutures
