Billy Gates attended parliament days before the budget announcement. Why was the biggest farm land owner in the US at Westminster days before the inheritance tax was announced, wakey wakey.
How Labour stamped on the working class anti_ immigration protests... It'll be interesting to see how they respond to the multi-million dynastic, farming family protests.
Since the right-wing have always stressed the need for law and order, was not Starmer correct to counter the racist thugs smashing up our town centres?
The difference that some including apparently Starmer/Reeves is that whilst a typical inheritance involves someone already with their own home & source of income (job) receiving additional property (which they are free to sell or move into), in he case of farmers the beneficiary is usually already living there with their parents, as their only home, to help run the farm; and that farm is also their only source of income. There are a large number of family farms in the £4m-£5m bracket which, after taking all the mitigating measures open to them, would have to stump up £200-£400k In IHT, leaving many with no option but to sell off land (20% of it according to research by the CLA) rendering it unviable as a business. So, the new rules are jeopardising both their homes and their livelihoods. If there is one grain of hope for the farmers, it is that if the parents survive for another 5 years, or if the inheritance can be placed in a trust until 2029, then they can breathe again, because both main opposition parties oppose it and will reverse it upon coming into power. That obviously depends on Labour losing the next election, which given its marginal success in the seats it won this year, and given the public mood as reflected in the polls, is almost a foregone conclusion.
Im a builder but i don't get any handouts or tax breaks. If weather bad i can't work or get paid. Im sick of whinging whining farmers with machinery worth thousands moaning about how unfair there life is. If they don't like it sell up and get a job in a supermarket like everyone else has too.
Thats literally the problem. Machinery and land is so expensive that the tax would be outrageously more than a farmer can pay. Its the basic tools required to produce food. There is nothing left over for tax.
Trouble is the actual profits vary wildly with each season, but the overheads remain. In this context for many taking loan to cover the tax liability would be a huge risk.
Look at us everyone we are so hard done by we can’t even have a day off but hey we can find the time to travel to London to stand and have a chin wag with all our fellow farmers. Hey we can even afford to bring our expensive tractors along 🤔
If everyone else has to pay inheritance tax then so should these who own many acres worth millions. If these won't pay then everyone else should reject it.

All the idiots who voted for Brexit and has made everyone poorer should stop the winging, embraced Brexit and pay their fair share of taxes just like everyone else. No exceptions, not even farmers
Support our farmers, we should all be able to pay half rate tax in interest free instalments over ten years after up to £3m exemption.

Why is this serious matter on news TV
Matter NOT on TV
Because they live in cities and not near a farm!! They don’t care frankly
No farmers no food
No money no social care.
They don't produce enough food to sustain us. We have to import to cover what they can't or won't supply.
No farmers No food
Without farmers, there is only Soylent green.
A fairly taxed farmer is still a farmer.
Omg I remember that film …..really weirded me out x
Farmers can make a trust to protect their inheritances
If it was that easy they wouldn't be protesting.... jeez
Farmers are just greedy.

What changes are they making to inheritence tax?
Farmers will have to pay half the going rate instead of none.
Farms have to pay 20% inheritance tax instead of 0%
