Once again Berhalter embarrasses us by not mentally preparing our teanm for competition. Everyone in the frakkin world knew what Panama would do. And it wouldn't surprise me AT ALL if there were racist comments directed at him. But he, and the rest of our team should have been prepared for it. That is the most basic *requirement* of a coach and Gregggy failed... again.

zidane got red carded for his headbutt in a WC final. And look how he's looked up upon today. It ain't over for Weah. Still a lotta potential in this USMNT generation.

They didn't even come to the tournament with a winning mindset. In all of their interviews, they've said that the Copa was just a practice for them and that they don't have to play the best game of their lives. Even their coach didn't even feel confident that he would reach far. He kept saying that he focuses only on the next game at hand, not games down the line, or that he'll keep the same game plan, whether or not it was effective, or that he hopes that the team does a good job, or that he doesn't value results, just performance.
People blaming on Weah just want somebody to blame. When a player gets a red card, all the other players chip in and cover more grounds. For example, a center back might act as a midfielder, or a striker can put in more defensive work. The U.S. team encountered some adversity, and they couldn't adjust.
In their game against Uruguay, they went looking for a tie and started hoping for Bolivia to win, so they could sneak by on goal difference, like they did in the World Cup.
If they start with a winning mentality, improve their set skills, put more wins against tougher opponents, and get a good coach, maybe they won't be so abysmal.

George Weah once got a 6 match ban in the Champions league for breaking someone’s nose after racist remarks. Maybe the same thing happened here. 🤷‍♂️

yes he f***ed up. but we still should have been good enough to win or get something from that game. we should be disappointed even angry but he's still our player and we must get behind him.

Bergholter has created a toxic culture of mediocrity with the team. This is the third stupid red card this year .
The players are best friends with the coach rather than respecting the coach and at fear of being bench if they do not deliver. They will never be pushed to be better under this moron.
Moreover tonight, Bergholter deciding pulling the only creative play makers out and park the bus to get a draw was so disheartening.

It happens to every one. How many times did Roy Keane lash out and he's considered a legend and prototype captain. Even Zidane did and that was in a WC final.

@user-nn2xr5ez1w @user-nn2xr5ez1w no I'm not American. The argument stands. If greater players - who were both greater leaders - are able to lose their heads in even bigger games, then it can certainly happen to a lesser player. It happens in football, tiredness, emotions, and at a weak spot any player can react, and many have.

ENOUGH!!! He made a mistake , but no excuse to lose to Panama. Carter Vickers should not have been on the pitch. Defense along with Berhalter's uncanny ability to not adjust. That is what lost the game.

A red card in a Copa America game that we still should have won should not be a big factor on a players career 😂 how about we talk about how bad he is 95% of the time. All that pace and he never uses it and his end product is terrible almost every time

    • @gorcsauce696

I would agree but usa got the red card in 20 min. I can clearly tell u don't play sport in ur life when a team has pace threat and ur man down for 80min in that heat ur gonna lose u end up playing different and other team presses more cuz the confidence of extra man they to lost when they got that red they would have to pray for tie or them to miss every chance. U can defend a red for 30 mins or 45 but 80 nah ur done

@@gorcsauce696 well considering I was talking about every single game he plays in. He should easily be one of our most effective players in terms of number. Hes not asked to do anything special, literally receive the ball and pass it. He has all the ability. He is capable of running past a man and delivering it, however he needs not to try to beat anybody and then he crosses is 20 feet over everybody. He is at a 4/10 compared to his potential and what he should be at. I just expect more from him and everybody else in the squad. Just not good enough ever

Funny thing is their white Captain America, Pulisic reacted even worse to a bad foul and should have gotten a red card in this same match, but hey no mention of that. We all know why. Immigrants Black (African) should seriously think twice before playing for the United States, honestly! They will be scapegoated whenever anything goes wrong. Happens with the England team as well.

You have been well and truly brainwashed by people with no knowledge.
Why even bring skin colour into something not related to racism.
You actually fuel racism by categorizing people by skin colour.
We want to kick racism out of football but not with the american victim mentality.
