    Looks great! And, since you happened to need the fill, I'd say that was part of the pay. Certainly saved you some cash to not have to buy fill, and no one had to pay to dispose of it!

    I’m still impressed with the tire footprint. I noticed that it wasn’t disturbing the turf during the time lapse before you said anything about it. Even if the home owner agreed to repair his own fence, that’s still a million times easier than repairing a torn up lawn. It would’ve been a mud pit with a regular tractor.

    Didn't realize the attachments are that long of a lead time.....crazy!

    In the past I have used a Sawzall to cut nails or screws off fence panels to avoid splitting pickets. Thanks for explaining why a Kabota tractor with a front loader wasn’t the best choice in that particular location. Tight quarters like that really make machines a lot less effective so I wouldn’t be so hard on yourself for taking your time especially if you haven’t used that attachment a lot. Great video as always!

    A city the size of Jacksonville you would think there would be somebody that rented attachments have you ever contacted ventrac and ask them for authorized dealers nearby for rental

    • @CopperCreekCuts
      @CopperCreekCuts  2 года назад +4

      Florida is a Ventrac graveyard. The closest dealer is in Jacksonville and there is only one. They don't have a retail location you can walk into to look at/demo/rent/buy anything. :(

      @@CopperCreekCuts there was a place in Orlando that they said sold ventrac but they never had any in stock but he said that their location and New Smyrna Beach always had them on the floor when I go to New Smyrna I'm usually heading out fishing

      Using a reciprocating allows you to cut the nails leaving everything intact and no damage. When reattaching, drill pilot hole through picket/rail and use 3" galvanized screws for damage free work.

  • @FishFind3000
    @FishFind3000 2 года назад +5

    1:10 if the whole fence was just nailed together you could leave the fence panels alone and just use a prybar on the cross members. It would have saved the panels and been faster.

    • @CopperCreekCuts
      @CopperCreekCuts  2 года назад

      This is a 'hindsight is 20/20' thing. I was planning on it being screwed in, so pulled the pickets off...only to find nails. Also, they actually drove the nail that holds the cross member to the post THROUGH the picket, so that made me split the pickets when I was prying them off thinking the cross members were screwed. Oh well. Next time I am bringing pickets and a saw with me :D

    You did the job they asked for. You fixed their fence. I assume you worked with your wife. You hauled away the rocks for your project. You gained experience with your Ventrac rake. I hope you got paid. Sounds like a win-win!

    A ‘yard glider’ under that tarp of rock would make it easy for removal off the trailer and they are made right there in Florida. It one of the most virtual tools I use with my Ventrac along with Power Bucket.

    I think the only thing that may help is removing the front tires attached to the rake for tighter quarters, but I am not fully sure what service they provide so I could be off base completely

    • @CopperCreekCuts

      Actually that would have been pretty smart. I don't think I needed the wheels for what I was doing and they just are held in with some pins that quick disconnect. Next time I will use this!

    Great video as always, Brad!! Do you ever re-evaluate the bid once you arrive at the job site? Now that you have the Ventrac, it almost seems like most jobs are manageable and you don't have to add more to the original bid (but also, your time is valuable, so keeping that in mind).

    • @CopperCreekCuts
      @CopperCreekCuts  2 года назад +4

      I always re-evaluate mentally and for next time, but if I give a bid I never come back and tell the client 'I need more'. I just eat the loss and do better bidding next time.

    I was also thinking of a mod if you bolted a piece of heavy enough sheet metal to the rake it could be used as a type of plow
