    I don't talk about it much but I live with an incurable illness that's forced me to rely on my RUclips channel as my only source of income to survive. That said PLEASE consider using my links in the description - it not only helps the channel but helps keep my life afloat. BIG THANK YOU to those that do. Thanks for the review. Does this monitor support VRR, for example Freesync?

    Hello, my friend. "Um salve" from Brazil!
    Would you recommend this as a second monitor just for coloring videos? I work with videos, and I need at least a decent monitor for that, and the price difference for brazilians, talking about other brands that you recommend on that, are a HUGE problem (I'm talking about 3 times the price).

    This is an attractive choice. I briefly owned the G2724D, but was unhappy with the look/calibration of the picture in sRGB mode and its poor uniformity, plus I think 24" 1080p + standard gamut & actual calibration is more my thing. The Ultrasharps have been 8 ms, 60 hz for a LONG time. I'm happy to finally see 120 hz in one to match 24 fps and 30 fps content. Very nice silver aesthetics too.

    Jacob, do you think the current sale price of $380 CAD is good? I have a U2417H, this seems a bit better in colour coverage and does 120 hz - two things I wanted - not sure what else it brings for me practically. The silver looks are an improvement. I'd run the sRGB preset, maybe less blue light emitting? I'm not into ComfortView if that compromises accuracy. Contrast should be more or less the same?

      Small improvements but I think you'd be happy with it. Dell just accepted me in their affiliate program, big props if you're the 1st to use my link!

    Great review. I like your no-nonsense straight-to-the-point approach! Now I’m looking forward to your review of the U2724D(E) which occupies the top spot of my shortlist so far, but I can’t pull the trigger not knowing how good it will perform in AdobeRGB Color Space.

      @@JacobDarkOfficial Thanks for the update. It’d be awesome if you could touch on the Adobe RGB coverage as it seems to tick all other boxes for a mixed-use setup (as in content creation and hobbyist gaming). Some users on Reddit already reported that it not only supports VRR over HDMI 2.1 (as per the spec sheet) but seems to be also compatible with Gsync and Freesync via DisplayPort even though the latter two aren't advertised.

  • @s2003katalin
    @s2003katalin 5 месяцев назад

    The alternatives are not quite replacements. These Ultrasharps can be daisy-chained with DisplayPort cables. I actually prefer running three like this than a single curved one, for that 5760x1080 goodness.

    There are no controls to turn off ComfortView Plus. Does this "feature" add a very subtle bluish tint to your monitor? And typical users don't have a Spyder5Pro to calibrate their monitor. Do you use a Preset Mode for all your main monitors, or do you calibrate them using Spyder5Pro? And I don't know if this is typical, but this monitor has some huge air vents on the top side of the monitor, while older models had smaller air vents on the backside, not the top.

    • @JarrettWalksOttawa
      @JarrettWalksOttawa 2 месяца назад

      It uses a low blue light panel instead of the old crappy method of changing colour channels to reduce blue light. It is always on, yet doesn't affect colour accuracy. Yeah, the air vents are larger (I had a U2417H), but it barely gets warm anymore

    • @tulebox
      @tulebox 2 месяца назад

      @@JarrettWalksOttawa I was just wondering if a monitor calibration device like the Spyder5Pro can cancel out the blue light effect.

    • @tulebox
      @tulebox 2 месяца назад

      @@JarrettWalksOttawa Probably the reason why it can't be turned off electronically, is because they physically applied a blue-light coating filter to the monitor screen. So, it's on there permanently, and can't be removed. But, Dell did not describe it as such, so I feel I was being intentionally mislead into thinking this was a "technology" that could be turned on/off and not a stupid blue-light filter.

      I personally like more asus proart monitors design, their back part is nice, I don't like much that "flat" back
      Dell's monitors have, not because I think it's ugly, but because I like when it's kinda square or something.
      Anyway, I still like Dell's design a lot and those two new ultra sharps are awesome.

    1080p and 1440p monitors are not Ultra Sharp more like Slightly Sharp 😅
    I owe an older Dell Ultra Sharp 4K 60Hz p2715q looking to replace it with something modern for photography work but unfortunately, nothing is available in 32in 4K IPS and 120Hz space at the moment. Most professional monitors are 60Hz hopefully that going to change in 2024

      @JacobDarkOfficial  7 месяцев назад +1

      Ha, the new Dell SortaKindaMaybeSharp? Yea I had the top of the line BenQ SW321C when I was more active in photography and even that was 60Hz considering the $2,000 price tag

      @JacobDarkOfficial I was looking into BenQ SW321C and BenQ PD3220U but they are both 60Hz and a bit fat.
      Hopefully, 2024 will be an era of 4K 120Hz
