Norwegian Stone Roofs

The stone roofs of Norway are durable and beautiful. They date back to ancient times and are still quarried and manufactured today. This 10 minute video will introduce you to the stone roofing of Otta, Norway and Oppdal, Norway. The stone is slate, quartzite and phyllite. my mother was full blooded Norwegian from Hemsedal Norway (Mildered O. Bang) Swanson. her mother was Mary Hensrud Bang her mother was born in 1884-1957 her husband Olaf Bang 1877-1954

Good video,where I live in east central Ohio all the older homes like the one I grew up in are slate roof ,they are slowing going away almost all roofs made it a hundred years or more

Stone slate roof means set it and forget it unlike many other types I’ve been seeing nowadays. I don’t like giving my money away so I think I will do a slate roof too.
