1 week ago I attended the East 17 concert in Prague and I would never go to any reunion ever again tbh. Some things should stay where they are. There was only John and Terry and some other guy and I was not prepared for how it´s gonna make me feel. I sang, I danced, I had good time but damn, it was sad. As soon as I got home I started playing old music videos and listening to East 17 albums on repeat to forget this sad experience and to feel the excitement and love I felt 20 years ago again. It´s sad how it ended. I wanna keep them in my heart as those funny and energetic boys from the House of love music video.

The only person I ended up rooting for in all this was John to be honest. Seems like a nice enough guy, just wants to pay off his mortgage and make sure his family are looked after, owns his own roofing business and is prepared to work hard. Terry comes across as a workshy, just floating through life without doing any hard work type of guy, feel the same about Brian as well. Tony has made his money but seems to be unhappy and trying to recapture something, he'd be better off writing songs for other artists to sing and staying away from the performance part.
Norfolk Enchants if he's song writing was any good he would be but he isn't because most of the songs are abysmal

If he hadn't got the job another decent singer could be hired and people like you would be saying the same thing about them. Stay another day was composed and written by Tony put any good singer singing it and it would be the same hit. Pull your head out of your ass and grow up and see how the world works. It is actually the way the music industry is structured. The most lucrative part of the whole act is the songwriting - and that remains a perennial revenue stream for the songwriter. All 4 made money off the sales but all radio royalties went to Tony since he was the sole songwriter for the music. In Take That, Gary Barlow got infinitely richer than the rest because he was the sole songwriter for all the material of 1990s Take That.

Gary walked away the richest from Take That's first chapter because he was pretty much the sole songwriter for most of their hits (songs that were NOT cover verions). Robbie's wealth stems primarily from his solo material - not with Take That (of course, his earnings from the Progress album with Take That are undoubtedly significant).

Hendy just comes across as a down to earth, normal and decent bloke. Like you said, he doesn’t think it’s beneath him to do an honest days graft to earn a wage. Good for him. When I was a kid, I loved East 17 (I grew up in that postcode) and Brian was always my favourite, then Tony - But as an adult, I can see they’re too wrapped up in their own drama and are both too busy fighting each other, trying to be the Alpha top dog of the group - Rather than being mature and working together. That’s why none of their comebacks have ever really worked out.

I still love Tony to this day. He was the backbone of East 17. The amount of pressure he was under back in the early days. And his health suffered because of it. Including his mental health. Tony was smart he invested his money wisely and did throw it away. He was allowed to be frustrated with Brian. Ok he shouldn't have hit him but it was coming for a long time. Tony had no choice but to sack him in the first place.

If only the chaps had met up and spent more time knowing each other and ironing out any differences. They should have used that time to sound each other out and come to some arrangements before going into any meetings with any record companies. Brian should have been given a chance to get his own music incorporated within the new catalogue after everyone's points were listened to.Each member appears to have had their own legit reasons to give it one last shot.
Brian Harvey seems to be the only one who has stayed vocal and constant and is still very much in tune with with both the old and new fan base with his web presence. Always one to speak up and be quite outspoken at times, Brian Harvey can be found regularly on his RUclips channel where he is very open and honest about his personal life along with certain political and legal matters which is very enlightening and at times shocking to believe, but what he lacks in height he makes up for in evidence to validate and backup on what he brings to each RUclips video.

Brian Harvey is the voice of East 17. Can't even listen to Tony sing Stay Another Day. Brian's voice is phenomenal.

Tony just needed an excuse to hit Brian. Notice that the narrator says that the other 3 were all an hour late, but its only Brian he hits. Had to get it out of his system.
Also, I do think Tony's heart wasn't in a permanent reunion. He just wanted a proper closure for his spiritual mind because of the way he just quit abruptly in 1997 and to justify his psychic's predictions.
Brian was the one who repeatedly had been tardy for years (why Terry and John eventually told him to leave their 3 piece version) and the difference is John and Terry say "oh, sorry" when told off for being late where Brian says to F Off and is an ingrate

E17 was Tony's baby and he recruited the other guys at the request of the label. If you want to make decent money your name has to be on the credits. This way at the very least you'll get performance royalties everytime it's played. You'll never make a million just being a dancer/backing singer, which is why Tony had £200k in the bank and Hendy only £500. There are very occasionally exceptions who split equally regardless (such as Coldplay who make a fortune from massive tours.)

Yes, Tony was the songwriter in the 90s but this was supposed to be a new start. Why shouldn't the others have an input. This is what caused a rift in the original Take That line up...Robbie wanted to write some songs, Gary wanted to be the only one & rubbished his efforts. This is exactly that. Tony should learn to share & punching Brian wasn't a smart idea. It wasn't like they were late for the all important record company meeting just a meeting about the songs.

To the people slagging Tony off about his weight (Frank Doe), what do you do with your lives lives to be able to judge him???? He was almost 40 when this was done so i think he looks quite good. when you've trained at something or kept yourself in so good a shape for so long and then suddenly stop its a shock to the body. I know this from experience as I boxed for 12 years and trained for at least 6 hours a day as well as going to uni and working and when I stopped training my BMI went up by 50 % within months just because I stopped training, I didn't change anything else in my life!!! I have also been an East 17 fan from the beginning and do agree that Tony and Brian need to sort things out. As for the other comments about John and Terry being able to be replaced without problem I think is bollocks too, East 17 is, was and always will be all 4 of them together and no other combination will ever work.
I hope this comment doesn't offend anyone, it is just my opinion.
This was recorded in 2006, he was only about 32. However I'm sure he could find a diet that suits him, along with 3 or 4 days at the gym he could get back down to his fighting weight.
