    Love the breakdown of the STC ratings and materials used, very helpful. Also the visuals are fantastic, excellent work!

    You've got a good pragmatic mind!
    I'm curious about how good something like this could be for a piano, which tends to be notoriously awful for neighbors. Of course then you're dealing with a lot of weight and a lot of sound travels through the floor because of that weight.
    Also how good a booth could be if built into the corner of a room because then you'd only have 2 walls. But you could hang blankets inside to temper things.

    Looks like a great project. I would like to see a breakdown of costs not including the labour of course. Ventilation is important. We wouldn't want you passing out.

      Hi. I will do a breakdown of the cost but those acoustic ventilators are expensive. Most of the booths I seen others build do not have ventilators. It's a great project but I have to be careful in case it doesn't work out as expected, but I need one so I can practice late hours and not disturb the neighbours. Thanks.

    Hello. Thanks for the video. Very useful. Wonder if you have an update as to cost of materials of a sample project? I am really interested in it. Cheers.

      Hi. I am in the process on building my booth. I will upload a video in a few days with pricing for a basic construction which was just under £600 though could be cheaper using different materials. Thanks.

    This is an awesome video! Thank you 😁. I am wondering if you know the rating for osb vs Dry wall?

    • @Saxcomprehensive
      @Saxcomprehensive  Год назад +2

      Hi. Thanks for watching the video and your comment. The rating of materials has to do with their mass. So a thicker Osb will have a higher rating than a thinner drywall. However you could probably buy 3 sheets of drywall for the price of 1 sheet of osb which would be better especially if adding insulation or green glue. I think it is all about cost and how you will design it. I'm not an expert but just using 1 layer of osb will not do much. All the videos I've seen on soundproofing a home cinema room use layers of drywall due to the cost. There is a lot to think about and the worst thing to do is build it and it doesn't reduce the sound sufficiently. Thanks.

    Does all of this prevent sound from coming in as well ?

    • @Saxcomprehensive
      @Saxcomprehensive  2 года назад

      Hi. This is just a design at the moment since I have not built it yet, but it should prevent sound from coming in or out or at less reduce it to a minimum. It is based on soundproofing a room in a house like a home theatre room. There are companies which sell soundproof booths for musician in all sizes but can be very expensive. Thanks for the comment

      Hi. Thanks for watching. The artwork was drawn in photoshop and coloured using the cloning tool and the video was put together using premier pro. Thanks.

    Does a mini fan work for ventilation?

    • @Saxcomprehensive
      @Saxcomprehensive  2 года назад

      Hi. I have not built it yet. This video is more the planning stage. The ventilation will be the major problem for sound escaping. There are RUclips videos on suggestions for this and I looked at some professional isolation booths for my research. Once I start building I will have to revisit my ideas but it is matter also of keeping the cost down. Thanks for watching and the comment.

    5min in this booth without ventilation and Your head will start to hurt from the CO2 buildup.

    • @Saxcomprehensive
      @Saxcomprehensive  3 года назад +2

      Hi. You might be right. Most of the booths I seen others build do not have ventilation. I'm more concerned about the heat but I will look into ventilation. I have to build a booth before my neighbours start complaining and I don't like those expensive sax mutes. Thanks for the comment.
