Well, if pissing people off is part of being punk, then...I guess the Posies win on this one. I think the extreme twisting of the very punk Germs song into something ridiculous was the idea...but also to show that Germs song, depsite being a trashy punk jam, has real chords and structure (Pat = genius) so, don't get your spiked undies in a knot. Also--what's with the 'faggot' insults, Germs fans?....um....wasn't Darby, uh... gay? And you like him, so.. maybe you like the Posies after all?
Holy shit, how am I just now discovering this!? This is great!
Ken Stringfellow,
It is amazing to me how people don't get what you guys were trying to do here. The whole point of the video was a taking a punk song and doing a radically different take on it (a good one at that) and then contrasting that with the punk fans in the video. It is supposed to be ridiculous as you said. Great idea and very funny I might add. I guess some people don't have a sense of humor. And yes, The Posies get the punk cred for pissing so many people people off. Salute to you sir.
Although I have an instinct to kill hippies, this is an impressive cover.
The guy complaining about how music today is all product. This is just a Beatles spoof of a germs spoof.
@ebailey140
Totally agree. I'm not a neo-psychedelia fan. Just loved a creative spin on one of my favorite songs.
Did you see Drew Barrymore? And that guy with that fucking killer FEAR shirt?
Good stuff.

Don Bolles is a clown.
I totally agree with you, except for the vinyl part. I grew up on vinyl too, but I think this return to vinyl movement is just nostalgia.
I am a huge Germs fan and I think this is one of the best covers of them. The hate for covers like this stem entirely from macho-insecurity. It is the "big car, little dick" dichotomy played out with music.
And I love the bait-n-switch rift at the beginning.
Calm down guys, Punk isn't a religion.
FUUUUCK YOUUUUUU
I'm your fucking GOD bitch!
I'm a hardcore germs fan but i like this cover.
You can tell they appreciate them because they have the circle one armbands and all the L.A punk band references so i don't see the problem.
I like this a ton! Darby does too.
wow even the beatles covered the germs
I liked it, especially BECAUSE they didn't just copy the Germs version. It shows just how good the Germs songs actually are when you can give them a Beatles arrangement and still have them sound great.
Amazing cover.
Huge Germs fan here. This is so cool and clever!
This is like if pornhub started running ads in the middle of their videos.
Absolutely amazing!!!
The Posies are brilliant~! 'Frosting on The Beater' is an amazing album. This cover of The Germs is amazing!
Just saw Don Bolles sing this version at the Smell and it was terrific
Wait, what . . . just happened there? Punk has retired to a comfy rocking chair. Thanks Posies and yes actually I would like a blanket it's getting chilly.
This looks like it was inspired by the Love-In scene from Psych Out with the Posies as the Seeds, but without the mock funeral where the couple make out in the casket.
What year was that??lol
❤❤❤❤❤
awesome cover love this version
I luv it! I think it's awesome.
Love it !!!!
...these guys just rape my ears...
I for one have never heard the original Germs version, but I really like this version. The Posies put their own spin on it and they did a good job of it. It's quirky and fun, and I like that.
It's like the Germs The Beatles and Nirvana had a menajahtwa and nine months later this popped up out of one of their asses.
@BlankTV ididt see drew anywhere or that fear shirt..i was to into the song...where are they in the vid?
i m amazed people still remember them
Lol this is a interesting take on a germs song. Really showed the beauty of germs lyrics.
which model hagstrom is he using ? does anyone know
no... the second but only next to your youtube name lol casualtiesglamourqueer
The boy that nobody owns...
I like the O O O's and the WHOA O OS too much in the original to like this one
R.I.P. darby
its funny at the beginning i swore it was going to be an exact cover then they just hit you with the folky shit lol
this is funny to me and I should know what's cool and what isn't. you're just going to have to trust me on this.
kind of a funny idea. got bored halfway through.
dat's richie daggah's criiiiiiime
Why would u do this
Yeah, me too
LOL!!
Perhaps you enjoy rap more and have little props for people that actually play instruments and write music. It is this infighting in the rock world that divides and will ultimately be it's downfall. Just look at MTV to get a pulse on the state of Rock 'n Roll. I would rather see an upstart band that plays music than go to a Lady GaGa or Snoop Dog show.
Kurt Cobain was in the band?
Well then I guess there's a big fuck you to Beethoven every time the Philharmonic executes one of his songs. Warning e-new wave fish eater: Don't ever say fuck you to my face.
no
first!
this is terrible
fuckin god no why did these guys have to be the ones that covered my favorite germs song? Just no, your done go home. You played a bad song posies.
i agree witcha, but the posies suck. not because of this cover, which is actually an interesting approach... and prolly one of the two interesting things they' ve ever played in their whole career. they just suck since day one.
theyre one of the mistakes of the alternative hype in the mid nineties...
they can dream all day... that won t help.
This was a total disappointment, I was stoked to see someone covered the song, but then...I listened to it : S
too slow and soft.
all i can say about this is it is really gayy hahah
they ruined this song !!!
And this, my friends, is an elitist in the wild.
Not my cup of tea, but they definitely gave the song their own twist - and props to them for it! If I wanted to hear a version that "sticks true to the original", I'd just - oh, I dunno - listen to the original, maybe? No harm whatsoever is done by this cover, so why so angry? I could understand it if the existence of this cover made it impossible to listen to the original, but as far as I know that's not the case.
