I am doing a wedding journal and I grabbed a book page to learn how to do the library card pocket and when I flipped it over the title on the page was love birds. Thank you! Had to share!
Hi Tasha, Sounds like kismet. A wedding journal sounds lovely! Thanks for sharing with me. I love these types of synchronicity. Happy Creating xo Shelley
Love all the different pockets you've created! Awesome journal! Thank you for sharing! I've share this video on my FB group page, Roberta's Artistic Adventures & Favorite Links.
Hi Kathie, Sorry to hear about your cough.... ugh Hope you feel better soon. I have been making some new stuff just had no time to video. Hopefully soon. Sending you lots of healthiness thoughts & Aloha
Thank you for so many great tips and ideas. A packet of small yellow envelopes with end tab was almost $20 at the stationery supply shop....eek! I've made them before using an envelope template but they always turned out a little skewif ... I'll try it your way now. Is there a video of a page by page look at your journal? It looks crammed full of more of the same....I'd love to have a flick through. Cheers
Hi Leanda, Thanks for for the suggestion. I have not done a flip through but certainly will and post the video of the journal. $20 is quite expensive for envelopes. I try and make my own whenever possible. Just a suggestion ..... there are also free templates on the internet of other size envelopes you can print & use. I like using all of the recycles supplies I have like old book pages, calendar pages & magazine pages. Thanks again for watching. Happy creating.
Great tutorial! A good refresher for ideas I've seen before, now it's time to start making some! I'm looking for your video on making tick spots but can't find it! Help!
New family member, I just started a junk jounal, dont have alot of money dont have alot of paper scraps, how can I be put on a list for some one to send me ideas or scrap paper or other things to be put in my junk jounal.
can you tell me what that journal would be used for. I love love love them but i haven't made one yet . Is it for journaling or pictures or for stuff you want to keep . I keep everything. My daughter gets so aggravated at me. :)
Hi Maryland farmer, You can use them for anything you want. I use mine for art journaling and glue books. I will make a video soon with journals that I am using. Then maybe it will spark ideas for you. I completely understand wanting to keep everything. I have given myself a limit and fill a few small boxes. I try and keep in mind that it is an endless supply and more will always be available.
Did you make a book page tutorial on how to make a book page pocket folded so all the writing was going the same direction, with a triangle flap . I saw this and now I can't find the tutorial...thanks,😘
Hi Gwen, If you want the writing going the same direction you have to cut and glue them. There is no way to fold book pages with all of the words going the same direction.. I sometimes make the pockets and then cut other pages to put on top..... Hope that helps.. Happy creating!
did you know you may be destroying historical documents such as that map. anything like pre-1940s ledgers, etc. copy and submit to your local historical society.
Hey Delores, thanks for you comment! When I first started crafting with older books I looked into preserving the information just in case. However, due to the climate and insect population out here, books that would be considered historical documents would not have survived this long without being preserved. I think the oldest book I've found was a dictionary from the late 50's. I currently buy my books from a great non-profit venue that resells used books from individuals, schools and libraries that would have normally ended up in a landfill. They also donate the proceeds to support the local public libraries. It's a great cycle - I get awesome old books, public libraries get funded and we pollute the earth a little less. Happy Craftgiving.....
